“Rock and rap go together like peanut butter and jelly”…. PREACH IT MY BROTHER!!!
wait till he finds out about rage against the machine
Been that way since the early 80s.
It's rarely good lol
this is the first video of his iv ever seen, and already im stealing some quotes
'rock and rap go together like peanut butter and jelly'
and when he heard chester
'man went from screaming like a devil to singing like an angel'
That was Chester beatboxing. Chester was literally a human sound effects "machine". He could make so many different sounds with just his vocal cords.
You should watch this whole concert. There is a 45 minute video of the behind the scenes and the concert on UA-cam. Just search Linkin Park Collision Course and it will be very near the top. It is a short concert but it is crazy at times. There are 6 songs that are done during this concert. Those songs are:
Dirt off your Shoulder/Lying from You
Big Pimpin/Papercut
Jigga What/Faint
Numb/Encore
Izzo/In the End
Points of Authority (music only)/99 Problems/One Step Closer
Yes! all of Collision Course EP is good
I remember I HAD to buy Collision Course when it came out. Also Big Pimpin/papercut is my favorite off that album
I've bought this dual CD/DVD so many times I stopped because it was stolen from me soooo many God damn times!!
Mike was the mastermind behind this mash-up. MTV asked Jay-Z to choose who he wanna do one mash-up with. He chose Linkin Park... Mike was like "one song?, hold my beer" and answered them with 3 songs, Jay-Z said "Oh sh’t!!" (said Mike in an interview). And then, they made a 6-song album "Collision Course" and a concert.
The crowd was handpicked and didn’t even know they were gonna be the first to see Jay and LP together!
Please react to Mike Shinoda - I.O.U. or his side project Fort Minor - Petrified
The whole mashup was MTV’s idea for a tv show, where artists would collab. Jay and LP was basically the pilot. MTV cancelled the show after they collabed because there was no way another artists would top what Jay/LP did. It exceeded all and every expectation
Love Fort Minor!
Kenji and Slip Out the Back would be just better suggestions from Fort Minor.
I love the look that Jay Z gives Chester when he screams at the end….he was like geez! Linkin park also made a song called “we made it “ with busta rhymes 🤟
7:05 that stank face says it all about Chester... legend
Jay z is probably like this man is bad bad man.
It's absolutely wild to me that we'll never get to hear Chester again. Ngl, its been a few years and im still shook
Jay-Z and Linkin Park did really put a half album out there. They made 6 songs together. Jay-Z picked LP to do a rap rock collaboration at the time because it was trending. Jay-Z said that LP is a band with natural hip hop and it fit his style.
They were only supposed to do one song together, but Jay z liked the demos Mike made so much that they made six mashups so good they had to cancel the show cuz they knew it was literally too good😂
That smile at 6:25 is the same one he had when he did Jay Z Unplugged without knowing what 'unplugged' implied. The man was having a blast and marveling at how good it sounded.
Chester was making those noises. He made all kinds of sounds and even did beatboxing etc. I'm very fortunate to have seen one of his very last concerts. The 3ed to last one before he died ❤
This proves music lovers are music lovers. Metal rap mix and fans of one were rocking to the other! I will say one thing, Jay z face proves his fans don’t act like metal fans, we get wild and we lose our minds and he was obviously not used to all that😂 he had respect to them though!
Linkin Park where unique, this mash up inspired by Mike was epic, im glad you watched it mate, im a 60 plus year old guy but listen to Chester and Jay on a daily basis have a great life young man
Mike Shinoda is a Japanese american who grew up in LA. His family were detained after Pearl Harbour in the forties. They were forced to live in a prison camp! He even wrote a song about it called "Kenji".
u were 2, i was finishing high school... always appreciate seeing younger ppl check out the music i grew up with
The entire concert is fire 🔥 You can absolutely tell that they are having a blast, the crowd as well. It's exactly the sort of concert where you feel like you're there just watching it, as you did here. I can absolutely recommend it!
ya say Mike could be blacker than you lol but he's actually Japanese-American!
Mike is one of my fav rapper, if you dig his style check out Fort Minor : Petrified, Remember The Name, Believe Me.
and other Linkin Park songs where he shows off his rapping : Nobody's Listening, High Voltage, A Place For My Head, Lost In The Echo, Until It Breaks, Waiting For The End, Wretches And Kings, All For Nothing, Guilty All The Same (ft. Rakim), We Made It (ft. Busta Rhymes), and many more!!😂😂 I'll let you discover them yourself. Subbed!
Great reaction! Man when this came out my mind was blown, such a PERFECT collab. The arrangement of every one of these 6 songs was phenomenal.
You've gotta watch the entire concert video, there's behind the scenes of them working on the songs together and it's greatness.
Mike Shinoda (the rapping guy in linkin park) is also fort minor
AAAHHH back when MTV actually played music and not fake reality tv or other crap!!!!
rap and metal go together been saying that for years . :) it's pretty amazing. glad you enjoyed this.
Aerosmith & Run DMC - Walk this way
Anthrax & Public Enemy - Fell the noise
These were early crossover tracks that showed that Hip Hop and Rock and blend into some fantastic music.
I was there at the concert I was 18 at the time. Turning 38 in May omg this was my youth
This whole album fire
5 members of Linkin Park are from California, Chester The lead singer is from Phoenix Arizona jay-z is obviously from New York when we have Those combinations put together makes great music
This was the idea of someone at MTV or a record label. They came to Mike and asked if he could do a mashup of LP and Jay songs. He basically laughed and told them yes. He then proceeded to make a mini album worth of mash ups...
I really wish they would have done it with a better rapper like DMX. That would have been so much better.
You should check out Dirt off your Shoulders/Lying From You from Collision Course with these guys. That's my favorite From that album! 😍
mine too! along with Big Pimpin/Papercut. groovy af
I remember when this collab came out, and the skater made peace with the rapper
The ultimate sign of respect from Jay Z.
Brings back memories. I was in college study graphic design and banging my head to this from my portable cd player 😆
I highly recommend the soundtrack from the movie Judgement Night from 1993. Each song is a collaboration between great metal bands & hip hop artists from mid/late 80s until 1993.
Reanimation is still one of my favorite CD's today, not sure if you've checked it out before, but I still replay it today. Link Park getting together with a bunch of underground hip hop artist to make a CD. It's just to good and what I thought music would become.
I was 12 when this came out, living in Edmonton in Canada. I had pre-ordered this album cause Linking Park was like fucking oxygen to me.
I listened to this album on repeat for probably a fucking year. 6 tracks that made me feel like the baddest of badasses. 😂
I will say that Collision Course also did a lot to introduce me to rap. I've always enjoyed it, but I also struggled to understand it and keep up with it. I think having English as a second language added to that cause good rap has depth of meaning and layers, that flew over my head most of the time.
Collison Course made me wanna know more, and I've been lucky enough to have people in my life that took the time to basically teach me how to listen to rap and hip hop (if that makes sense?), allowing me to fall in love with the art.
Anyway, that's besides the point, the album blew my tiny little mind, and to this day, I don't think anything gets me hyped like this track. And I love watching people hearing this for the first time, cause it's the same reaction everytime, and it's exactly how I felt listening to it 20 years ago. Fuck I feel old now.
The entire album is awesome
music goes well with music not just rock and rap but love the energy
Rock & Rap, When done properly you end up with timeless masterpieces that everyone loves. I Had to go and listen to it all after this, got me in the mood man & the only way to play it is Loud.
Thanks for the Upload Brother 👍🏻
"If you're havin girl problems I feel bad for you son"................."I Got"
the whole colab album was really good
Mike Shinoda actually made an album after Chesters passing called mike "post traumatic" you should give that a listen
This album came out my freshman year in high school, YOU COULDN'T TELL ME NOTHING!!!!
😂😂😂
Man i have the album includnig the dvd lying around here somewhere. i was 14 at the time. Happy you found it
Musical marriage made in Rock rap heaven
The COOLEST mash up i have ever seen. Mate, when this came out on DVD i swear i watched it over 5000 times. Absolutely unbelievable from both parties.
This whole album was fire. I still listen to it every once in a while today. Every mash up. Fire.
The BTS of the entire Collision Course album is so epic. Watching Mike, Jay-Z and Chester make music was a highlight of my teenage years. "I ordered a Frappuccino, where's my fucking Frappuccino? Hahahaha".
💣💥🔥🔥🔥 this is just FIRE , timeless show !
LOve your reactions!!! 🙌
Glad you like them!
@@JusticeServ I do so thank you! I love good reactors.
I loved this!!!
Great video bro
That was also an all Linkin Park crowd. They announced a surprise concert in NYC and this was it.
hey i love that you are reacting to LP, one of the best bands ever, if you really wanna hear chester's vocal range check out QWERTY live in japan
Best colab
This collab album had me obsessed. LP was one of my favorite bands and Hov was Hov.
If you liked how Mike was in this you should check out him with X-executioners, the songs called it's going down. It's got the X-executioners. Mike, Mr. Hahn and it looked liked the drummer and bassist from LP and Wayne static from static-x
Yeah Jay-Z definitely looked like he was amazed by the crowd and was kinda stunned and was just taking it all in. They're other songs from this album are pretty good too. Great reaction man!
one of the best damn mixes ever
Talent recognizes talent 💪
There is a whole concert online and an album! It’s amazing!
The original collar before the linkin park was a Dj who did the grey album, the Beatles white album with jays black album sure it’s still available for a listen somewhere
U should do the whole concert
best rock rap colab ever 100%
This is Nü Metal at its finest 🔥
mike shinoda is an underrated rapper
I was 2 years old as well, I'm also 22
Live Magic
*Really Good*
So many collabs back then that peeps have slept on.
Limp Bizkit w/Method Man - N 2 gether now is one of many that they did.
❤ Loved this post. Two of my favourite artists.
Ive every Jay Z and Linkin Park album. What can I say eclectic taste.
Listen to Akala fire in the booth 1, what he says needs to keep the interest flowing.
If you fk with it do a post.
KANO and his fire in the booth has astounding flow as does Wretch 32 and Avalino. Astounding for uk artists.
Looking forward to more posts bruv 🙏
I know im a month late, but now you gatta react to Encore with Jayz and linkin park
Z and LP was the combo album is one that holds a special place in my life!
"MIke is blacker than me at this point" 🤣
It have a little secret behind this concert, what you watch is the second captation of this concert the first time the video captation don't work. So they do ,with the same public , a second captation. Imagine how it's impressivewhen you see energie given
Damn thanks for making me feel old asf I was 8 in 04’ lmao
Mike is awesome, he’s half Japanese half American. LP and JayZ had an EP back in the day which was great! 🖤
R.I.P. Chester 😢Mike has always been good wt his raps. Jay was happy bk then that was a fr smile. Now he’s not smiling these days 😮L.P.then & now ❤️🔥❤️🔥
mike is in a rap group group called fort minor incredible mc's
Should check out the Fort Minor album collaboration they did together
Thanks you for listening to me Justice I told you u would love it
I was 12 when this came out
Lookin like jayz caught the reverb of that last "Ima bout to break!"
You are music smart as a baby lol. Good for you.
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
RIP Chester
I graduated high school in 2004
Loved watching you react to this, if you’re into hip-hop I can also recommend Linkin Park’s song with Busta Rhymes called We Made It. Also, Linkin Park have an unreleased track (you can find it on YT) called I Have Not Begun and that is hands down one’ve the best rap vocals I’ve heard. (Just my opinion). Mike really shows off what a talented rapper he is in his own right. 👍🏼
The whole mash up is good
On the first Fort Minor album, which is Mike's side project, Jay-Z's on it talking about how good Mike is.
I know Chester ❤ is the main focus here but Mike is often under shadowed even though I think he is equally talented
bro, seeing the younger crowd enjoying music from my time gives me nothing but a dumbass smile while watching this reaction. XD mad props bro.
AYOOOOOOO!!!! I KNOW THIS WAS 3 WEEKS AGO BUT I PROMISE I JUST DOWNLOADED THIS RECORD LAST WEEK. COLLISION COURSE WAS AHEAD OF ITS TIME AND A CLASSIC IMO. TOOK TWO OF MY FAV ARTIST AT THE TIME AND MESHED EXTREMELY WELL. PEACE GOD.
The whole collision course album is nuts
No more sorrow by Linkin park is my favourite
Just watch the whole thing…best collab in a long time when it came out. Remember Rap began when the Dj would cut/scratch the break of a rock song to extend it so the MC could rhyme to the party people.
Came for the LP/Jay reaction but subbed for the Hurts jersey haha!
#FlyEaglesFly
FLYEAGLESFLY‼️‼️
Do this at grammy
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
ive noticed you seem to like your mix of rock and rap, so random suggestion that pops into my head, Hollywood Undead - Hear Me Now
Rock and Rap should do more collabs
After chester past , Jay-z played LP ecery show.
Also fun fact chester never rehearsal, ao this was the first time jayz was with him
Damn random sounds so good
If you're interested, ethnically Mike Shinoda is a mix of Japanese, Chinese, white, and Native American haha
Hahahaha goes to the effort to list all Mike's ethnicities but then writes white...
@@McIntosh.R ?
@@control2XS White isn't an ethnicity, European would probably be the best broad ethnicity instead of just White, or could be more specific and say a country. But to just write white after specifying Japanese, Chinese and Native American is crazy.
Not just crazy, but stupid 😂@@McIntosh.R
Just listen to "Kenji". What the government did to his family during WW2 is fucking disgusting. There is no excuse!
Just like u I feel sad for being too young at this time to really get to enjoy these legends literally making history. I was 4 at this time 🤧
Check out Fire from the gods. AJ is so underrated
