Another giant has left us. Florian and Ralf were one of the few that laid the groundwork for what was to come. If there were no Kraftwerk electronic music would not be what it is. Most people don't realize how important and influential Kraftwerk were. R.I.P. Florian.
But in the end, nothing is important for us, but God. We all can receive forgiveness of our sins by Jesus. He died for us on the cross, so that all who believe in him will have eternal life. In Kraftwerk, nobody will find eternal life. This earth will come to an End. But the word of god will be valid forever.
Florian- The loss of a pioneer. His legacy and music will live forever. Inspired many artists and sampled by many more. The true legend of techno. You will be greatly missed.
"It was always fun, until the end, you know. But the end is always not so fun. Because it's 'End', you know, 'Stop!" I like this kind of simple, honest logic.
Actually they were retro band. They redicovered the 1950s electronic music, especially Raymond Scott but also others. The electronic music was very cool and very new in 1950s. So Kraftwerk was really very nostalgic like the roc`n`roll revival bands. In 1970s the very modern music was made with computers already which Kw never used those days.
You're only saying that because they pose as if made of stone. Now there should be a mount rushmore style monument featuring Steely Dan and it should be erected in dusseldorf. To teach them a lesson, a music lesson.
What a gentleman of music ! Too bad that three members of the original line-up , the real Kraftwerk , already leaved the band . What a party would be if sometimes the four musicians over sixty would get together to make a little concert !
what difference would it make? it's in the DNA of Kraftwerk (the man machine) that the individual persons on stage are irrelevant and interchangeable. heck! at times they even had their robots play entire concerts instead of them.
There are stories that where not so nice, after Wolfgang and Karl left the band, their names where erased on later releases of the records. Suddenly the band members where only mentioned as 'guest musicians'. Wolfgang once built an 'electronic drum set' together with Florian and Florian patented it under his own name ...
The end is never going to be for the people still listening to your music, its a legacy you have instilled to all those who want to listen and try your music themselves, your end is not the end for the future of Kraftwerk.
Oh the Spargel Part ( Asparagus) really made me laugh - This is SO typical German - From April to early June you eat the white Asparagus! It`s a seasonal delicacy which i also love - I`m glad they taught Iggy some culture! LOL
Kraftwerk : Pioneers of electronic music.... Radioactivity an early trek came in and around 1975 & it has different versions that were released later maintaining the tone effect of the original.
I became lead singer with Slave......but Kraftwerk were integral to me becoming a multi instrumentalist. My approach became extremely intense after consuming years of their evolving styles. Also they affected me as a dancer. I became way more creative as a dancer due to how incredibly funky the music was...Germans are really funky man! The anticipation and syncopation is forever present through the history of Kraftwerk's sounds and creative arrangements!
Kraftwerk não é uma banda, um grupo de músicos, mas sim uma Instituição de Idéias Transformadoras e Transgressoras, numa época de pouca tecnologia accessível, eles nos deram a dose do que viria no futuro!
4:05 -- Well, I think that this place should be restored, and be a museum or something like that if you ask me. Come on, Germany ... you can do this! Oh and, Wolfgang Flür didn't change that much. He still looks young! At 6:41 Oh come, Iggy! Please, wear a shirt at least ... YIKES!
Kraftwerk : When electronic engineers with a heart and a Punk mind make music .... they brought it to the next level ... i’m also an engineer but listen humble to their music.
Nice, to locae Düsseldorf by its distance to Cologne. Those two cities are rivals for centuries, and their inhabitants tease each other where ever possible...
wäre gern ein arbeiter von "elektro müller gmbh" gewesen....auf die frage, was ralf privat an musik höre, kam nur die antwort: "geräusche" - noch fragen??
at 3:45 theres a short clip of ze band dancing in front of a colored background. does anyone know where that comes from? is there a longer/full version of this footage online? in all of those kraftwerk doumentaries are clips like from kw performing radioactivity and stuff that i can't really find seperately online. please help! thanks!
Man... I had no idea. I went with Zooland (producers) to that place that they showed as a legendary place to meet someone who had taken it over as their studio... I can't remember who it was but when I saw it I said "I know that place. Ive been there!". Didn't know how historical that was.
Why do I always get the feeling that Ralf and Wolfgang didn't get along too well, especially by "the end". What happened in the end? Was there some particular argument between both of them?
wolfgang released a book that ralf didnˋt like...since then, they communicate only through lawyers, sad thing is that florian does not talk to him anymore as well...i read that book, nothing in it to pussy about. sad story in the end...
@@adolfnoise4673 More like Wolfgang didn't feel comfortable being called a "Mensch-Maschine" or "Musik-Arbeiter", as he himself explains in this comp, as well as Kraftwerk becoming that which they influenced, without any innovation. "The end is always not so fun.... 'cause it's the end, you know; it stops." Poor Wolfgang.
RIP Florian Schneider and massive respect to German music. I always wondered, what do German’s think, if anything, about the Krautrock label? It’s what we all called it growing up in England without thinking about it, but I guess with hindsight it might be taken as offensive
In the documentary, it shows what they think: Faust loved the label (even despairing when they hear about the "Krautrock revival"); Renate Knaup and the late Dieter Möbius had mixed feelings about it, and the only person who had negative feelings about it was Jaki Liebezeit. Also having slightly positive feelings was the late Edgar Froese, who talked about noticing the poster with their name on it: "40 Years back they came to bomb the place, today they come with synthesisers to talk about peace." EDIT: Forgot to mention Wolfgang Seidel from Ton Scheine Scherben, who also had a bit of positive feelings about it; even debating whether to go to a "Krautrock Night" at the site of the old Zodiak Club (it is left ambiguous as to whether he went or not).
nice documentary. England and Germany = masters of Progressive Rock music and Electro.. Pink Floyd ,Amon Duul ,Kraftwerk, The White Noise, Guru Guru, Man, Neu, Brian Eno,Cluster.......

Karl Bartos' dancing is an arrow in my heart.

RIP FLORIAN SCHNEIDER! A musical genius!
He’s passed?!
It's good when actual people involved tell the real story
Bravo Kraftwerk 👏🏼

"you know it's the sparragus season" is totally a Florian phrase. Blessed be his soul.
It is the current year and Kraftwerk are still ahead of their time.
These guys influenced Blue Man Group, New Order and the Talking Heads. They deserve more recognition, at least in the Anglosphere
Почему в англосфере… в России их так же любят
People *still* don’t realize how far ahead of their time Kraftwerk was.

I agree, 22nd century music!

Hey Wolfgang, cheers for the interviews, you are a nice person.
Legends, gods of electronic music, plain and simple.
Holy... An actual interview with Mr. Hutter!! That alone makes this clip worthwhile. Thanks for uploading! :)
Love this! I went to Dusseldorf a week ago for my vlog. I recorded a bit outside the old Kling Klang Studio as well!
big respect for these guys for going own way and not mimicking the american/british rock'n'roll black face thing
The greatest German band.
One of the greatest bands in human history.
THE pioneers of electronic music, still relevant, always relevant.
Thanks to the makers of this video. Thank you Wolfgang and Karl for the Interviews.
I have reading your books. Very ,very good and informative stuff!!
5:04 look at florian! He's like "OMG karl has hair?"
OMG OMG OMG WOAH
If there is ever a Mt. Rushmore of music, these four men should be the ones on it.
Vebinz and there should be, and they should be
Alan Cogan 😡
I totally agreed with you on this one!👋😎👍

German steel is better.
;)
And then a random iggy pop pops out
Well KW did mention him and Bowie in "T.E.E"
James Reeno "met iggy pop and david bowie, ba tum ts ts ts, ba tum ts ts ts...."
listen to 'the idiot'
Not random at all "Meet Iggy Pop and David Bowie"
Not exactly random; he participated in the documentary, where he actually talked about being a fan of Neu!'s work earlier in the documentary.

Florian and Iggy shopping for vegetables together. Couldn't make that up.

Ten years later now, after releasing this really catchy vid and I love the guys...all of them!
I would of enjoyed meeting one of the Kraftwerk members, they are so interesting, thankyou.
Thanks for this!
Florian and Iggy shopping for asparagus... Dusseldorf meets Detroit.
That Iggy anecdote about asparagus cracks me up every time.
"Asparagus season" is such a very German thing, with strawberries and whipped cream as dessert :D
What an inspiration to this music, a studio in a place like a factory
AMAZING DOC!
Their accents are so lovely robot-like ... 😄
Oh the Spargel Part ( Asparagus) really made me laugh - This is SO typical German - From April to early June you eat the white Asparagus! It`s a seasonal delicacy which i also love - I`m glad they taught Iggy some culture! LOL

They probably visited Godorf, where Conny Plank recorded the first Kraftwerk album and other Krautrock classics in his Rhenus Studio.
In 4:36...what version of Autoabahn is that? Anybody care to enlighten me?
It's the final quarter of "Autobahn", when it heads to double-time and becomes more rockin'.
It’s the normal 1974 version from the album
