    I spent 150$ last night on this at cricket wireless. I honestly feel like it was a steal. Yes its 720p, but its 120HZ, that SMOOTH experience is a GAME changer. And i notice negligible differences from my 2021 stylus 5g (which is a great phone btw). I play BDO mobile and classic jrpgs like Final fantasy or chrono trigger or dragon quest, and my experience isnt any worse. I cant imagine avoiding this is you are on a budget.
    Alot of the criticisms i see from youtubers are out of touch with reality. Alot of you do NOT understand people that live in the hood for instance. 50$ isnt a small amount of money to people like me. And saving 50$ is the difference between me having to eat ham and cheese with water all week at work, and me being able to pack good healthy lunches all week.

    Some of the things you listed as reasons to avoid can be forgiven for $200. If you want wireless charging, more RAM, higher quality display, NFC, an ultra wide camera then you likely are wanting a more premium phone that is way over $200. It's common sense unless you get an older flagship device you arent getting top specs for $200.

    720p vs 1080p on a 6 inch screen is hardly noticeable to most people. Besides how much video are we really watching on our phones? Not me I watch on my tv or iPad. Not the phone

    Here's a tip, up for the 5G 2023 model that has 6 GB ram, get a wireless adapter if you are so inclined and put the phone in a case and call it a day! On the hole is really not a bad phone it's all about preference so I would skip over the reasons to not buy it and go judge for yourself my Moto and my iPhone cohabitate quite nicely😅

    I really love the phone, NFC is something that I don’t use. I’m tired of Samsung midrange and FE because of their price and they didn’t hold up and last to warrant spending $450+. I’m happy with the 128g’s of internal storage and that you can use a sd card. This phone offers a lot of value at a reasonable price.

    Not too worried about 4k video or processor speed for gaming when buying a phone. Can I make a phone call??? What networks will it not work with? We still have legacy CDMA towers out here, will it work with that? What bands? Even some manufacturer data sheets don't bother our pretty little heads with details like that, but it's necessary info. Does it have a headphone jack, or am I stuck with some buggy bluetooth connection? An otherwise informative video.

    Is GSMArena just completely wrong, then, when they list this screen as 1080x2400 at 120Hz?
    Edit: You also mention it's just 4GB of RAM, but it actually comes with 6GB. And you mention the processor being outdated, Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 Plus, which came in the 2021 version of this phone. The 2023 version comes with a Snapdragon 6, which is much more up to date.

    The biggest reason I go with Pixel phones now instead of Moto phones is Android version updates. My Moto G Power 2021 was one of the very last phones to get a new Android version, they only give you one android version update and it often takes forever to come to your phone. Google phones on the other hand get them pretty much on day 1. I don't want to buy Moto G and be stuck with Android 14 forever (that's the only upgrade you will get). Because if 14 is bad (like android 12 was) then you're stuck with it on your Moto. My Pixel 6A on other hand will get android 14 on release day soon, and for sure get Android 15 and 16 as well in the future.

    I'm surprised you didn't mention the 433mbps transmit and receive link speed. My Motorola 5G 2021 has 866mpbs transmit and receive link which means it supports dual band on 5Ghz. After transferring all my data I immediately noticed the speedtest was half that of my 2021 5G so that means you're not getting dual band and once you step into another room it's cut in half yet again. I've reset to factory defaults and sending back to Amazon.

    I don't like the trend of 120hz with basic LCD screens (even worse when it's 720p), like it seems so ridiculous. Take it down to 90 or 60 so you can have 1080p at the very least and hopefully OLED as well. But it's like they're trying to sell budget phones with high refresh rates because they're the popular new feature I guess (and maybe cause 120 is 3 digits so it sounds more impressive than having 90 in marketing?)

Sure gaming would probably lag but it's not your ultingaming device. It's just a budget phone. I know two people that have this phone and they are very pleased with it. They don't use nfc or play games but they are social media buffs and they pay their bills online and through their apps. Perfect basic phone for people that don't do serious gaming or watch movies. I dont get people that watch movies and game on a little phone screen anyway! I always do media stuff on my TV or computer for a way better experience. Battery life should be amazing with 5000mah battery 720p LCD screen and the Snapdragon 480+5g. This phone has 5g in the budget category which is great. LCD technology is much more simple and software reliable over OLED and other more complicated screen types. Sometimes basic is better depending on what you use it for. Samsung phones are the worst for me, owned two of them and never again. I always love my my basic Moto phones for how solid they run for everyday tasks 🙂

      Smartphones haven't been just phones for over a decade now. You gotta keep up! Most smartphone users barely touch the phone app on their smartphones these days. They're much closer to laptops and desktop computers than they are to traditional phones. If you want a phone just for phone calls, get yourself a Doro 6880, or get a DECT handset and an ATA to connect to a VoIP provider.

    The previous Moto G 5g (the one I'm typing this comment on) uses a MediaTek chip in it and almost st one year into using it both the WiFi and 5g (probably the type of 5g [basic not UW or "+" as is said in my phone when I did connect to the stronger one] goes on and off intermittently and it's even worse when I'm on mobile data alone and it does that and leaves me with nothing, except if I want to be a patron of a business to use their WiFi.

    Does not have wireless charging? I don't care.
    Does not have a wide angle lens? I don't care since I never use one.
    NFC? I have never had a use for it.
    I started working in electronics in the 1980's and quickly found out that the simplest circuits eorked better and were easier to troubleshoot.
    My last 2 phones have 90 and 120Hz refresh rates but I keep them set to 60Hz. Young people today grow up looking at TV, computer, phone screens with high refresh rates compared to what I grew up watching. When grew up EVERYTHING was 60Hz. That means a 60Hz screen does not bother me. Today's TVs refresh rate is about 250Hz and I can see the difference between the two. Small satellite receiving dishes, TVs with high refresh rates didn't just come out in the 2000's. I learned about them in the 1980's in Electronics Class. Oh, there was a TV program called Beyond 2000 you might want to take a look at sometime if they still have them on UA-cam.

      I agree, same for the RAM. This phone will work OK then in a year or two will feel sluggish as hell because all the apps require far more resources to run, then you'll be forced to get another phone. Might as well spend a bit more now and get a phone that'll last longer. I wouldn't buy a phone with less than 8GB in 2023.

    I hate this phone. It is really the worst phone on the planet. I have full power, full bars and connected to the wi-fi and it still says no internet. In less that 10 days, it stopped working. It started pressing buttons while sitting on the table and it just doesn't work. I want to cry every time I have to deal with it. Ugh...

    1. 720p only display;
    2. No ultrawide camera (only main + macro);
    3. No wireless charging;
    4. Only 4GB of RAM;
    5. No USB wall adapter in the box;
    6. No NFC;
    7. Video recording limited to 1080p on both the front and back cameras.
    Quite a lot of dealbreakers TBH, I'd look into a good phone from a Chinese brand or just buy a used Galaxy S if I was looking for a phone in this price range.

    Having no 4k recording in 2023 is a absolute joke. Really goes to show how awful this phone will run. Its actually disappointing how they havent been innovating at all, this phone is terrible.
    Not even NFC, LMAOO i hope nobody buys this. What an awful phone
