I've been asking for this kind of gameplay and style of play for so long and Miyazaki finally delivered. I've never been happier playing a souls game before now. Thanks for the cool build.
I can confirm you can skip Castle Ensis and the boss using the spirit spring and the NPCs will still be on the other side of the Castle, however the Needle Knight will no longer be available to summon during the boss fight in Castle Ensis
I skipped castle ensis by accident and wound up on sacdu Altus by using a spirit spring. Then somehow I wound up in the keep of shadows and out in a tropical jungle looking area 😂 I haven’t even found the second remembrance boss yet but I’m having such a blast exploring!!
**SPOILER** (maybe?) I'm pretty sure the sign disappears once you've reached Shadow Keep (road going North from Castle Ensis and you get the notification about a rune.
Super happy to see you making more builds. Unfortunately, I'm still in the early part of the DLC, so I won't be looking at your videos until I feel confident that I'm far enough along that I won't be spoiled. Definitely looking forward to coming back and watching these new build videos for inspiration. Keep them coming!
I would like to add few things that might be useful for this build. You can use DIVINE BIRD WARRIOR GREAVES and SHATTERED STONE TALISMAN. Greaves will increase the force generated by kicks and Talisman increases the potency of kicking and stomping skills. From Scadu Altus, west site of grace look towards the castle southeast direction. You will see a sending gate that use imbued stonesword key. it will lead you to another location where you can find this.

I am in love with this weapon. The animations are just sooo amazing. I actually really like palm strike. When charged you have super armor and it hits very hard and does so much damage and knock back. It also has decent range when charged. Takes some practice but its good. Can't wait to the other martial ashes.
@@coldven0m It’s a bit rough haha Didn’t test in the base game but I assume it’ll be a lot more viable, but in SOTE it’s rough. Bosses are very aggressive and even with 51 poise you’ll find yourself interrupted more often than you’d like. You also don’t do much damage per hit, it’s not strong like that, meaning that hit and run is completely off the table. You want to be able to hit longer combos, but the bosses really don’t give much room for that, so you find yourself limited to jump R2, running R2 and the stomp. On the other hand, it’s honestly really really fun to use, frost procs surprisingly quickly and the jump R2 is actually decent at breaking stance. It’s not a broken weapon by any means, but it’s the most fun I found so far.
@coldven0m The build for mine is a little different, I am more Dex Int focused rather than evenly spread across the 3 stars he has. This way I can also use the cold perfume bottles when I wanna switch it up and I am able to cast here and there. But all are frost proc focused. You have to be pretty aggressive and upclose with the fists which can be hard for some bosses but it procs frost very fast. If a boss runs away/around I can do some chip with a spells then go back to punching when they get close. Very fun!
I've been using the Cold Arts for a while before I saw your video because a lot of DLC enemies are vulnerable to frost and I think the Frost Stomp works great, however, I've been using the Dryleaf Whirlwind ash and it is absolutely insane, that's worth a try imo.
I mean that's pretty much what this build is, the cold affinity scales with intelligence (as well as str and dex) so you could just pump up int and carry a glintstone staff in your offhand
Dont sleep on palm blast. Good for posture damage, stagger and damage. Also, you seem to have a lot more poise while charging. I also infused my fists with frost, but I kept the ash of war, and so far I've not even considered changng it until this video.
Just changed my build to this it's fucking incredible. I've just tweaked the talismans and equipment a bit. Don't even need to use health pots most of the time. And armor: Head: Iron Kasa (dropped by Yura after killing him at Zamor ruins) - this is purely for fashion. Torso: Raptor's black feathers (for the jump attack boost). And Gauntlets of Solitude and Greaves of Solitude for the hands and legs respectively (both dropped by the Blackgaol Knight in the Western Nameless Mausoleum). They have great defensive stats and take our poise to 59 total. and are able to keep us within medium weight and are dropped by literally the first boss in the DLC and he's fairly easy to take down as well. What's amazing with this build (especially against the tanky enemies) the high speed frost attack stagger + milicents + rotten (damage boost) + taker's cameo (hp regen) stack beautifully. I'm doing constant damage, staggering the bosses and healing at the same time. And because of the high poise I'm able to keep going at it. Would highly recommend others to try this out! Cheers!
@@Scooty-PuffJr. Same as the guide. Can take str and Dex to 40 and then put more in int since it has better scaling. Then more in mind / endurance depending on your playstyle

We had a similar idea, though completely different philosophies. I went fire and instead went full faith, 50 vigor, 35 mind, 30 endurance, 13 str, 11 dex (to equip other things), 50 faith (i personally kept pumping this to 60). Erdtree seal, golden vow, flame grant me strength, change palm blast to flame art for faith scaling, then godfrey icon, shard of alexander, fire scorpion charm, flame-shrouding tear and just palm blast for 6K. I found Palm Blast having full hyper armor super ridiculous, and just went all-in with it. If enemies resist fire I can swap it over to holy and just run holy scorpion, though you'll miss out on the added fire damage boost from flame, grant me strength.
I've been testing this out, and it works, but it feels wrong. The best version of this, for me, is to have cold dryleaf arts in my right hand and flame art footwork (higher AR at equal stats (i have everything at 60 cause why not)) in my left. I two-hand the cold arts for faster hits that proc quicker, then revert to one handed so I can lash out a fire kick and reset the frost, then go back to two handing the dryleaf arts. The only problem I run into is that both dryleaf arts and footwork shine brightest when two-handed, so that switch between two and one handed, which is already cumbersome in the heat of battle against faster opponents like Messmer, also neuters you a little bit. Against some healthier open world enemies, it's very fun. Most basic enemies are dead by the time frost bite hits anyway. Against bosses, the arts are still fun, but it might be more efficient to throw a flame pot to reset frost rather than switch stances
I didn’t think to 2H this weapon at first. Idk why. 😅 I was underwhelmed with the 1H and it is a bit slow, but then I switched to 2H. The moveset is incredible and so fast! I did not know you could do flying kicks with 2H R2! This was the weapons class I wanted the most from the DLC trailers. So dope.
The thing about palm strike that fully charged it's always stagger enemies also some bosses if not outright knock them down. I usually do a fully charged after I break their stance, and it does more damage than a critical hit, or do critical hit first then do a full charge palm as they're in a recovery animation. Some enemies hits you as soon as they recovered so a good poise is a must, and ritual shield talisman is also a choice. Tested this with quality build with 50 on both str and dex.
Honestly it’s best to level up either str or dex and then int till both soft caps with cold affinity. I know sometimes it’ll work without cold affinity, but usually it bugs out and frost stomp doesn’t show up
Quick note on the how to get section, the npcs, gesture, and note are absolutely there regardless of route. I went spiritspring -> fort reprimand (and its jumpscare boss) -> moorth ruins while exploring and everything appeared as it was in the vid. Thanks for putting so much work into these vids I can't imagine what your sleep schedule must be right now lmao
7:08 Shattered Stone Talisman works here too. -5% extra damage on the AOW for +10% damage on your kicks. It’s in the ruins right next to the monk you got the weapon from.
@PanduhOsrs it isn't exactly an ideal build, I just have them with bloodhounds step and the bleed affinity. Claw talisman, rotten wing sword insignia, lord of blood exultation, and millicent's prosthesis. I've the stonebarb crack tear, but the thorny works well too, but I like doing the jump attack, hence the claw talisman. My stats are hella boosted, so final results will vary as well as the fact I'm on ng+5, so yeah, hope this helps in some way.
@@ghastlyanarchy1720 do you still use the palm strike aow?And also could i still have your stats. atleast the main ones like vig, str, dex etc. Thank you
@@ghastlyanarchy1720 im just honestly trying to figure out what attributes i should prioritize. my current build was based of seppuku and double godskin peelers. so im not sure if i still need the arcane and what not.
@PanduhOsrs I like to be able to use a wide variety of gear and weapons so my stats are pretty up there for all of them tbh. Vigor at 60 strength at 60 dexterity at 80 arcane at 70. If I were doing this, like at a lower level, vigor would still be up there as well as Dex and arcane. They're not as strong as other bleed weapons but they are fun. I don't use the original a.o.w they came with as I like to be as moble as possible with quick striking weapons. Helps keep the pressure on.
My first play through with Danes arts I’ve decided to do a poison build. Pest and rot incantations for backup. The poison flower blooms twice goes so well with the Dryleaf arts.
Divine beast head, bull goat greaves and raptor black feathers also goes crazy with the jump attack on this build because it raises both str and dex at the cost of focus. Plus the Shattered Stone talisman by the fort and you become a freight train with it. At first I did a faith build but now I’m going int.
If you want a good looking set I personally recommend Dane's hat, ronin chest, rellanas gloves, and the travellers leg piece. This set fits together nicely and personally i think it looks fire
This build + AOW Bloodhound's step is also nice to have if youre not that confident in your dodging. its so good in closing in distance since we all have short arms and going out when needed
After picking up at least one of each new weapon type and playing around with them, I have to say either these art forms or the light great swords are my favorite weapons. Both weapons types have such flashy move sets. I can't wait to see what sort of shenanigans I can get up to when I find some of the unique weapons with flashier skills. Messing around with different weapons is my favorite part about games like this.
Wow I came up with something very similar but I ended up prioritizing intelligence and you get the sameish hand to hand damage with the cold infusion and having access to ranged spells like lorettas mastery for range or founding rain of stars to crank the DPS through the roof in a small ish aoe
The new Shattered Stone Talisman is a no brainer for this build. Increases power of kicking and stomp moves. Combined with shard of Alex and Rotten Wing Insignia, it hits like a truck.
A good preliminary ash of war if you want to try out the build but haven't beaten the divine beast is hoarfrost stomp (you get it from a teardrop scarab outside caria manor). It's a stomp attack that also does a cone of frost in front of the player. It's great for staggering multiple enemies and helping proc frostbite.
Discovered this too when I tried both out, honestly great for switching things up as situations call for. Only caveat there is that from what I saw Rellana's gets a big damage boost at 17 FAI so you'll wanna get up to that in order to maximize it (also lets you use the Golden Order seal for Incantations). I ended up dropping to about 20 MIN to have more points, so only downside is less FP and maybe needing a few more blue flasks.
I used the hand-to-hand with a poison setup. The poison flower blooms twice ash of war is very strong. The dive kick animation of the ash also compliments the moveset of the weapon.
Small recommendation, an ash of war you can get later on is called dryleaf whirlwind which makes you do a three or four hit combo, does crazy damage, staggers almost all enemies, hits fast(instantly triggers multihit talismans), and can deal with multiple enemies at once because it sends you forward. I recommend it a lot because it gives you more fun martial art moves and fits the vibe
To confirm, yes the NPCs are there if you go around using spiritspring to go around the Castle. That's how I got to the location myself, so its a far easier route to take and can be done pretty much immediately into the DLC.
Makes me wonder about a build using both martial arts and some incantations to use ice, fire, wind and beast clergy stone magic. Full on fist of the four elements/Avatar build.
Fextra in the dlc I found a talisman that boost stomp and kick and since in the build there’s a stomp attack and kicking attack I think it’s better than claw talisman
The Palm Blast actually gives you infinite hyperarmor during the animation, so it is good for tanking a hit to deal large damange and break stance if youve beej smacking for a bit
i would advocate for palm blast instead. It does a ton of damage, poise damage, will build up frost, and gives you a lot of poise too. I only found the new frost stop useful for groups of enemies. Also, the multi kick ash of war works better on bosses.
i had some success using the palm blast with a bleed infusion. in essence, it's very similar to a star fist endure build where you trade to get a stance break. and it is good for stance breaks, while you're casting it you do get ridiculous amounts of poise, unless you take a whole three hit combo you're not going to be interrupted. sadly, i don't feel the raw numbers are great for it, and you don't get nearly as much use out of it as you do endure. i'll give this one a try.
I'm fairly certain you can also reach Scadu Altus by jumping off the balcony by the Castle-Lord's Chamber grace before Rellana, the same way you go to get the wing stance aow
I have the dry leaf arts in my left hand and the kicking arts in my right hand which enables an amazing kick lead and ouch combo with both light attacks and the great kicking special attack. Combined with the divine bird legs for enhanced kicking damage and the new bird armor that enhances jump attacks makes for a really fun mob killing build that you don’t even have to lock onto a target to kung fu everything to death
We are VERY grateful for this effort involving the Elden Ring DLC, your work is truly professional, but please, take a lil break, this frequency of videos is VERY absurd
I've found that Palm Blast isn't a skill that's meant to chain in with your attacks but it seems to do more damage than a regular stagger critical. You charge that thing fully up with the right talismans (Alexander Shard, Godfrey, etc) and I've found to take a larger chunk out of boss health bars and for some hefty enemies just outright kill them from a stagger. I only wish that the Palm Blast and the Divine Beast Frost Stomp both counted as Storm skills. Then they would work out wonderfully for a build I'm working on. I'm trying to find the right blend of hand to hand and a Storm build using the new Lion Dancer Head/Storm Magic talisman. I've come up with some things and it's still a work in progress but it's certainly possible DLC late game and can be powerful. The only stomp/storm skill is the regular storm stomp which doesn't have much range outside of a melee aoe but I'm still working on chaining it with attacks so it can gain advantage from the different talismans. Ultimately I wanted to create a Divine Beast build that uses the frost stomp, lightning spears, and storm tornado incantation. Combining that with Hand to Hand the only downside so far is I'm lowering my Intelligence to build up my Faith/Mind so I can use those incantations. Oddly enough though, Commander Niall's prosthetic leg and the Zamor Curved Sword weapon skills count as Storm. Those can both lead to good potential builds. That or if you equip a Storm skill to any of the new regular weapons I suppose.

FYI a wepond for your off hand could be the fire perfume wepond to reset the frost (i use that)
I got a bleed-fu monk. I wish there were more of these hand to hand weapons.
can i get your build? ive been wondering if you could make these bleed and would love to know how.
The poison flower blooms twice goes so well with the Dryleaf arts.
frost monk reminds me of D3 post Malthael. Exploding Palm with the cold upgrade was cool.
Hey Fextra, there's a talisman you can find in the dlc that enhances kicking and stomping skills. It's called the Shattered Stone Talisman.
Props to you for hiding the names of the enemies and giving us a chance to avoid spoilers.
Divine beast head, bull goat greaves and raptor black feathers also goes crazy with the jump attack on this build because it raises both str and dex at the cost of focus. Plus the Shattered Stone talisman by the fort and you become a freight train with it. At first I did a faith build but now I’m going int.
The golden warrior greaves are such a cool idea for this character to wear, doing a lot of aerial kick with toe armor is looking awesome XD
If you want a good looking set I personally recommend Dane's hat, ronin chest, rellanas gloves, and the travellers leg piece. This set fits together nicely and personally i think it looks fire
Bro this is so cool. Definitely gonna find out a Raden build using lighting fist/incantation.
Bosses of Elden Ring: Weak Tarnished, you have no weapon.
You: *THESE HANDS ARE MY WEAPON!!!!!*
bros going craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy wit the uploads
Absolutely loving this build
God I can't wait for the kicks technique.

That armor set looks dope 🔥
This build looks super fun. Can't wait to finish the DLC and get started with all these new builds.
I am SO FN EXCITED to get this skill set!
The new Shattered Stone Talisman is a no brainer for this build. Increases power of kicking and stomp moves. Combined with shard of Alex and Rotten Wing Insignia, it hits like a truck.
for later game i like godskin swaddling cloth, lets you save a bunch of your flasks and usually you can heal like 2 ish times every light combo
Shattered stone talisman works well too extra stomp, and kick damage
"High cross" Finally some recognition for foam fighters.
A good preliminary ash of war if you want to try out the build but haven't beaten the divine beast is hoarfrost stomp (you get it from a teardrop scarab outside caria manor). It's a stomp attack that also does a cone of frost in front of the player. It's great for staggering multiple enemies and helping proc frostbite.
the fists plus comet azur are giving me Goku build ideas.
Bleed bloodhound step is what I’m working with love this new play style
This can be perfectly combined with the rellana build, strength and dexterity is the way.
This with dragonform and crucible wings is gonna go so unbelievably hard
Small recommendation, an ash of war you can get later on is called dryleaf whirlwind which makes you do a three or four hit combo, does crazy damage, staggers almost all enemies, hits fast(instantly triggers multihit talismans), and can deal with multiple enemies at once because it sends you forward. I recommend it a lot because it gives you more fun martial art moves and fits the vibe
That actually looks badass
i live the fact that i just happen to be in that area and i would have 100% missed this if i didn't see the video happy that yt recommended it to me
Please do not forget to get some rest too.
So many uploads I can only imagine how much you are working…
To confirm, yes the NPCs are there if you go around using spiritspring to go around the Castle. That's how I got to the location myself, so its a far easier route to take and can be done pretty much immediately into the DLC.
I can confirm the alternate route. Stumbled upon it after getting my ass kicked by Rellana for 2 days. Anyone else wanna co-sign this alternate route?
The armor I wear with it is Danes hat, drake knight chest and greaves and gauntlets of solitude it really makes me feel like a mortal Kombat character
I love Hand to Hand builds. Started a new character for Kung Fu Playthrough and im hyped to 1v1 Hourah Loux with his own attacks
Makes me wonder about a build using both martial arts and some incantations to use ice, fire, wind and beast clergy stone magic. Full on fist of the four elements/Avatar build.
There’s so many builds, don’t know if I want the renalla blades or the h2h combat
Great minds think alike because I decided to go the cold route with the same ash of war. For all my martial artist, be like water 🤜🏿🫷🏿
i would advocate for palm blast instead. It does a ton of damage, poise damage, will build up frost, and gives you a lot of poise too. I only found the new frost stop useful for groups of enemies. Also, the multi kick ash of war works better on bosses.
Most badass weapon in the game and super fun to use
great build idea! frost synergizes well here
i had some success using the palm blast with a bleed infusion. in essence, it's very similar to a star fist endure build where you trade to get a stance break. and it is good for stance breaks, while you're casting it you do get ridiculous amounts of poise, unless you take a whole three hit combo you're not going to be interrupted. sadly, i don't feel the raw numbers are great for it, and you don't get nearly as much use out of it as you do endure. i'll give this one a try.
At first I wasn't convinced by the frost stomp but I think you have convinced me
Can confirm bypassing the castle boss works. Did it inadvertently on my playthrough and nothing was missing
I'm fairly certain you can also reach Scadu Altus by jumping off the balcony by the Castle-Lord's Chamber grace before Rellana, the same way you go to get the wing stance aow
Yes, the NPC will be there if you take the alternative route. so, the guide works both ways. good work
we love you fextralife
Cant wait to see what you cook up on monster hunter wilds , this is insane thanks for the great builds and vids
Would love to see faith monk, using buffs and heals
Pair with the foot wraps in your offhand and you’ll be a kung fu master
I have the dry leaf arts in my left hand and the kicking arts in my right hand which enables an amazing kick lead and ouch combo with both light attacks and the great kicking special attack. Combined with the divine bird legs for enhanced kicking damage and the new bird armor that enhances jump attacks makes for a really fun mob killing build that you don’t even have to lock onto a target to kung fu everything to death
We are VERY grateful for this effort involving the Elden Ring DLC, your work is truly professional, but please, take a lil break, this frequency of videos is VERY absurd
Feels like this build is made for the shattered stone talisman. Surprised it is not a part of the talisman setup.
The shattered stone talisman works with divine beast frost stomp, and presumably the kicks your hand to hand weapon can do, so it's also pretty good.
I made a faith monk when I picked it up, but I was looking forward to seeing what kind of build y'all would do with it.
