Excellent review, Bill. I would agree with every criticism and would have been pretty annoyed had I ordered one before seeing you cover it's failings in design. Thank you!
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to put this out there. I am looking for a light bar to go inside my truck cap on the bed of my truck for two areas (1) near the tailgate to cook with at night and (2) further back in the bed to be able to read at night. Do you have any recommendations then? Thanks again.
I use something similar to these for photography and filming www.amazon.com/dp/B07LC73BSP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_T6TS7TPWD73Y58K4TN2S?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 they are adjustable and have a magnetic mount. This may be perfect for what you are doing
The 18” light tube produces a maximum of 160 lumens. I believe they get this measurement by testing the led lights themselves before they are inserted into the diffused inflatable tube. In my opinion the light can be used as a reading light at best after your eyes get used to the dark but they do not produce enough light to safely work or cook by. Unfortunately they do not provide a power source so it’s up to you to bring a usb power bank to plug it into and the power storage and output of that power source will determine your run time. There are many companies that make inflatable light tubes. If you search google or amazon you will more than likely find one that’s better and less expensive than this.
Thank you very much for the speedy inputs! 👍🏻🥰 They are very helpful! The “rechargeable” term in Klymit’s descriptions is very misleading! I thought it was a standalone light!
We have three of these light tubes and use them over our picnic table when we camp. We have a 10' x 10' EZ-Up and the magnets let us put the lights up in various locations. I also have metal strips on 2x2 wood strips in my camper shell, and the light tubes work really nicely in there as well.
I think you'd have different opinion on the brightness if you weren't sitting in a lit up room and having JUST shut off your bright camera lights. Try this at camp in the dark and it'll be COMPLETELY different.
No I don’t think I would. Although they have increased the lumens slightly to 270 lumens it is still an incredibly low amount of light even while camping. A cheap headlamp would serve you better in almost any situation. It’s a nice gadget just not a very useful one but that’s just my opinion and If it works for you then go for it👍
Great review. The "interrogation white" color light is really the dealbreaker for me.
Top points, much appreciated. Hopefully they'll up the lumens even further (now 270) and also with a warmer light setting, then I'd be sold.
Man I am so glad I watched this before I bought this on Amazon. Thanks for the review.
No problems👍

Thank you for the kind comment. I really hope that they go back to the drawing board and fix these issues or another company improves on the idea.
Leds are technically flashing so fast you can't see it so looks solid but the camera sees it.
Yes unfortunately due to global trade most lights do not adhere to the respective hertz rules when it comes to pal and ntsc
Thank you for the honest review. It’s a hard pass for me now on purchasing.
I really wanted it to be better than what it was. I hope they go back to the drawing board because there is a lot of potential there.

@@unclebillscamping Oh great. Looks good. I'm checking this one out. Thank you.
What is the output of the 18” tube, and runtime? Klymit advertises that it is rechargeable, but does mention the most important facts.

I agree the cord is to short I also think they should put that dimmer switch on all3 models IMHO I really wanted to like it but glad I saved my cash
There similar products on amazon that are much cheaper with some of the things I recommended that klymit adjust. Just search light tubes🤙
@@unclebillscamping can you tell me the names of others brands please and thank you in advance

But I never hang anything from a can a pee.
