I'd rather slug someone in the face, or be punched in the face with brass knuckles than stabbed with that huge pocket knife or even sliced. I don't fuck with knifes at all, that is really really dangerous and will just do devastating damage. Guns are completely out of the question. But brass knuckles do an excellent job for self defense and they're safer than a knife and most certainly safer than a gun. I understand you can carry knifes because there's legitimate reasons for carrying them but brass knuckles are the better choice.

As far as brass knuckles and knives go I've been sliced and stabbed both and I've I broke my hands in fights and I can tell you I'd much rather get sliced with a knife again than have another steel pin pulled out of my hand after the bone resets. But also as far as brass knuckles not being lethal well if you hit someone with them right you'll kill them. I actually carry both EDC.

Brass gives you weight to increase impact. I don’t think being lightweight would protect your hands any better. I have punched trees with mine with no hand injuries.

It is kinda weird cuz it seems like you would have to punch incorrectly in this case, but I guess the punch would be so devastating it doesn’t matter.
