I would encourage folks to keep their minds open. If you like the Cycle of Strife, then play it. Every F2P player can be a Shadow and get great rewards. If you want to be a pure PvE adventurer, then do that. There is plenty of content in this game to play just what you like.
It all depends on the rewards "of the content to play that you like". In WoW rewards outside the triad end game activities are laughable. If being an adventurer or a basic Shadow will give nothing, (or will give a little more than nothing only with thousands of hours of grinding and hoping for RNG god), the game will die pretty fast.
@@silentbillkelly7276 I’m not interested in the leaderboard. It’s more because I can’t be interested since I can’t play 10 hours a day. But D3 for example is perfectly viable even if you play one hour per day and not even all days. You won’t clear 150 because you won’t have 4000 paragons but you’ll have Uber gear anyways. My fear is that due to its MMO part, DI will reward casual play a lot less than D3, left alone monetization.
you don't need it - its added content for try hards. The added gear is helpful sure, but it really isn't needed for casuals. I actually argue that adding these features is a good way to let the whales fight, feed the developers and give casuals more content in the future.
@@nathansoper1831 It depends on what are the rewards in the not tryhard content. Hope it won't finish like WoW where it's M+ or nothing and will be more similar to D3 where having the best gear is not THAT difficult unless you wanna really minmaxing.
@@Khrann the gear legendaries will be easy to obtain for all over time. Unfortunately the real power comes right now in finding 3 stat legendaries which are quite rare. Thankfully grinding free endlessly can get you there. The only thing right now that seems to HARD to achieve unless you pay lots is legendaries gems. I imagine they change how those were though compared to Beta. They are receiving quite a bit of flack. Upgrading your gear will take months.
Really cool concept, however i liek the idea of an adventurer more, maybe give them another progression route or something. Just please don't nerf them so much that they are useless.
Great video. This entire system seems terrible though. Combined with the p2w aspect it’s such an obvious trap to keep players grinding and spending….so uninspired.
... I gather it will be "free" to start before you have to buy everything? The gem "science" looks confusing and expensive enough. ua-cam.com/video/4diJdYgBpww/v-deo.html
Yup… let’s give the best loot in the game to the best players(I.E. whales). It doesn’t matter how many shadows there are if the battles are capped at 8 players on each side lol. The only potential benefit to having tons of shadows is you can constantly try looting their chest. Also, why did he say don’t die when trying to loot their chest? I’d rather die than leave because leaving gives me 0% chance to get gear.
Thanks for the guide, Rax. The way I see it, only a handful of pros and whales will be doing the Strife battle. I'm primarily an ARPG solo player, I don't handle daily gates and socializing too well. If half of my time in the game will be spent chatting, recruiting, playing the Lottery, studying quest menus or doing plain weird stuff (similar to the way Lost Ark wastes my time) DI cannot be the next thing for me. I'll give it a try of course, but I'm not very hopeful it will keep me for long.
So basically this system is only relevant to whales, full time content creators, and the unemployed? Seems like a bold strategy. Outside of Twitch, this part of the game might as well not exist for 99.9% of the player base
Feels like this guide is basically for like 200 people. Casuals will never enter good shadow clan, and i assume bad shadows are worse than adventurers. So, what mere mortals can do? What is the best way for people that are not playing much and dont like pvp and team content, is there an alternative?
according to the video you still unlock new quests, activities etc..where you can obtain additional rewards when you are part of the shadow faction. so you still benefit even if you dont care about pushing it to the top. correct me if im wrong thats just how i recall it.
if you think about it its life in general. casual people will be middle class. the 1% who grind becomes millionaire although some are born into it but the concept remains the same.
Amazing video once again! I am watching all your content and enjoy it! Sadly, this game isn't hyping me that much, this PvP and group play idea looks good but what can casuals and non-group players do to be powerful in this game. I mean, if you are not part of this whole faction thing you are getting less stuff than the other players and eventually you will find yourself weak as f*ck which sucks. I hope D4 give chance to all players to enjoy the game, although I've heard something about World Bosses raids, which will be impossible solo and this sucks, too. I have the bad fealling that after 5 years I will still be playing D3, the pace and the opportunity to essemble every build pretty easy (not in full power, of course) and try it is what I like. No matter what, keep blasting and making content Rax, can't wait for your next video!
Great video as usual, thanks Raxx! As casual and mostly solo player now it’s clear for me that I will enjoy the new game, concept but won’t invest that much of a time!
I'm really happy for PvPers. Now, since i don't give a ... about PvP in an ARPG and judging by the content below nobody does, is there something similar PvE only that gives not entirely uselsess rewards? Don't get me wrong, video is top notch as usual Raxx, but this seems a "hello, i'm a nerd who can play 24/7 and this is the content for me, you peeps get out plz". How many people who don't live to play videogames will realistically enter the top 10 Shadow Teams? Making it for PC also will widen the gap, because nerding 24/7 is far easier on a PC than on a mobile phone and a tablet. Remember: having a LOT of spare time to waste in videogames is not a skill, you simply have it or you haven't it.
I'm not going to mess with this system much, I'm going to join the shadows, but only because of the extra bounties you get, and the rewards every now and then.
Well, havoc may not be attainable. You could definitely cause some inconvenience for 100$ or so, but you can only cause havoc if you've gotten enough gems unlocked with your orbs, about 10,000$ worth minimum
Same I think I will play, learn about the lore, but not aim for extreme competitiveness. I don't like depending on others let alone chat and micromanage ...
what if the server clan coordinate each other and take turns to be the immortal, damn that would be the peak of socializing and the bottom pit of battle of war 💀
So since I have a life and can't try hard 365 days a year, I pretty much will be out of this system. Maybe I'll get to experience it on Twitch at some point.
This game is just not for me at all. Nothing I've heard about it either from Rax, Wudijo, Rhykker, you name them, arouses any of my interest. Quite the opposite, I keep getting less and less interested. It's F2P? It will release on PC? Doesn't effect me the slightest. However, your content is top notch, as expected.
That's cool if they make the rest of the game even more awesome and less P2W. I mean, have all of the whales waste all of their money on this part of the game fighting to see who has the biggest pocketbook. Then you use the revenue generated pay your investors and to make the rest of the game even more amazing and even more fun for the rest of us. Seems like a win/win situation to me! I like it.
Lol immortal had some good ideas, now going through this video I lost most of my interest, I enjoy solo play mostly and the occasional mild team play. This seems like another PVP mmorpg. Heavy PVP, depend on others and huge management.
The game isn't for everyone. Group play is key when it comes to progressing in diablo immortal. It sucks that that's the case, but that's the way it is.
I'm an immortal right now. Immortal is not fun. it sucks it ruins relationship between clanmates. it's a poison. I wish we never have taken this path. Shadows is a lot better.
So this is a game for streamers to play and others watch them play Basically it will be maxroll vs icy veins guys fighting each other Think it is really bad design for a diablo game
In other word, you are telling me that there is noting of interest for a solo player. I will try the game to see the graphic of the character and scenery of the battle grounds but when come the time to join a group... il be out of the game. No interest for me. I hate playing in group!
THIS SYSTEM IS AMAZING!! Until you realize the pay to win aspects making this just a who paid+played the most race. Real shame. The fact that the server's best player has a title and a clan and responsibilities everyone feels is such a good idea.
So far it looks like it’s just gonna be Wales in the big fights altogether forever. I love the idea behind the immortal battles but I can’t stop bagging on these corporate fuckers with this pay to win shit dude come on I would not mind paying for the game.
a chore, big ordeal, a job dressed as game... and you pay it with your time and if you want a better chance money (that is time converted to it)... man if this thing is a hit, wow, diablo, and other actvision games are doomed.

Dude what are you talking about. Casuals have more than enough content. It's going to take you months of in game time to max the paragon.

Good content Rax, you’re videos are among the few that ACTUALLY are guides and help the community.
Yes, what Przemyslaw Piechowicz said. What's the onus for a casual and/or solo player to play this game?
So am I wrong - it seems like this game is for the top ~200 players only. Seems so wrong...
I really do not like this Faction system, it is definitely not for casuals.. :(
Great video. This entire system seems terrible though. Combined with the p2w aspect it’s such an obvious trap to keep players grinding and spending….so uninspired.
once you look past the "Diablo" aspect, it's a typical war type phone game where people spend money upgrading their base and army.
... I gather it will be "free" to start before you have to buy everything? The gem "science" looks confusing and expensive enough. ua-cam.com/video/4diJdYgBpww/v-deo.html
everytime i go check a detailed Cash Shop diablo immortal video im like damn fuck this.

Thank you for the clear explanation Rax!
So basically this system is only relevant to whales, full time content creators, and the unemployed? Seems like a bold strategy. Outside of Twitch, this part of the game might as well not exist for 99.9% of the player base
adventurer it is

Interested in this also.

They changed it, it's not top 10 anymore
if you think about it its life in general. casual people will be middle class. the 1% who grind becomes millionaire although some are born into it but the concept remains the same.
Superb explanation, as usual, m8! Really looking forward to the PC - Version. Thx & best from Germany.
What is the process for the FIRST players to be one the immortals if there aren't any there at the beginning?

Great breakdown as usual!
He did one
Great video as usual, thanks Raxx! As casual and mostly solo player now it’s clear for me that I will enjoy the new game, concept but won’t invest that much of a time!
Great video, sadly havent found any good content creators as you guys in europe
I'm really happy for PvPers. Now, since i don't give a ... about PvP in an ARPG and judging by the content below nobody does, is there something similar PvE only that gives not entirely uselsess rewards?

İ spend my signets to the clan and i cant join shadow now how i can get signet again ?
nicely explained, ty!
does the shadow rank buff benefit all contents other than in shadow war?
Will legendary items drop in the story mode? Or do you have to participate in the cycle of strife
What server will you be playing on?
god i cant wait for this game to come out this pvp sounds so amazing cant wait to get in there and cause some havoc
Well, havoc may not be attainable. You could definitely cause some inconvenience for 100$ or so, but you can only cause havoc if you've gotten enough gems unlocked with your orbs, about 10,000$ worth minimum
i did become the second immortal on my server, and let me tell you. Its hell on earth
Ill be honest, the more I hear about this the less interested I am
Same I think I will play, learn about the lore, but not aim for extreme competitiveness. I don't like depending on others let alone chat and micromanage ...
how do you switch from shadow to immortal?
That all sounds incredibly uninteresting. But I really dont like the whole mobile game mechanics in general.
This is not a "mobile game mechanic", it could be a whatever ARPG mechanic, it's just a pvp brawl with a convoluted mechanic.
So are the immortals all together being all the servers put together or is the immortals server by server ?
HOw does money impact the game?
Interesting
what if the server clan coordinate each other and take turns to be the immortal, damn that would be the peak of socializing and the bottom pit of battle of war 💀
How much time daily you have to dedicate to be an immortal
Ur awesome 👍
I got really lucky and found 3 legendarys with triple stats.
immortals = $50k account min entry requirement
So since I have a life and can't try hard 365 days a year, I pretty much will be out of this system. Maybe I'll get to experience it on Twitch at some point.
Find me between the immortals,.. ⚡️✊⚡️
very bad faction system
Rax, your discord link says it is invalid
The p2w has really turned me off. I don't mined a single charge for a game. But this endless stream I will not do.
The shadows and immortals thing sounds cool until you realize in paid to win lol 😆

1st!!!
a chore, big ordeal, a job dressed as game... and you pay it with your time and if you want a better chance money (that is time converted to it)... man if this thing is a hit, wow, diablo, and other actvision games are doomed.
