If you liked Genesis, I'd highly recommend checking out a new project I've been working on with Zach Goertzen called Ambient Glow. He did all of the 3D and music for the project while I was beefing up my animation code. The animations are leaps and bounds better than Genesis. ua-cam.com/video/2wPGvGtJwHQ/v-deo.html
This gives me such an nostalgic Animusic vibe. Super smooth animation, head bobbing music, and creative instruments too. Man I hope the Animusic team or at least someone that worked there sees this and would try to come back some time sooner. This is not even good, it's freaking awesome!
This is a culmination of many different Animusic videos and tells a tale, first somber, then joyous. I believe that the community of Animusic enjoyers was meant to create Animusic 3.
Wow, is this really outside of the Animusic company? I am speechless, this is amazing! I know that Animusic 3 has shrunken quite a bit, but this video is very convincing. Everything is just so smooth like the actual animations. Overall, I think Wayne needs you, everyone needs you and your friend. You are the type of person that can make this happen! :)
That was awesome! As a fan of the original Animusic stuff, this was really cool seeing this. Nicely done (and yes, I've seen the "Ambient Glow" one as well - that was also awesome).
I can't tell you how much I love this piece of art the visuals and the music sets the mood and helps you just vibe to it I cant wait for further projects great job and keep up the good work
I love this. I watched Ambient Glow as well, and also your new Animusic remakes. This helped inspire me to create my own Animusic-style music and animations.
what a magnificent piece of artistry.... well done my friend, this definitely captures that original animusic nostalgia but with a new piece of music and very high quality set design. Bravo!
@Aqua Vlogs! I appreciate the kind words; I say baby project for a few reasons. I'm not nearly as skilled with 3D or music composition as I am in programming, Zach has a lot more experience in that department. I actually gave him my original composition (which was a basic bass line with a lead melody and drums) and he turned it into the song used here. We've been pooling our talents into two very big projects; one of which, named "Ambient Glow", is in the rendering phase and will (probably) go live sometime in October. The animation on Ambient Glow is leaps and bounds better than Genesis. The other project is a lot more in-development right now, so I can't say much; but it'll be announced what we're doing after we release Ambient Glow
March, I think you need to talk to Wayne Lytle about possibly helping him out with Animusic 3. This is INCREDIBLE!!! It’s the closest thing I’ve ever seen to a real Animusic video, but made by someone _outside_ of Animusic LLC. You could very well be the person to bring Animusic back to life again, and get Animusic 3 back on track!
Thank you for the kind words! This was mostly just a test for a much bigger project though (which just released 30 minutes ago), you can watch that here: ua-cam.com/video/2wPGvGtJwHQ/v-deo.html
I can see some inspiration from "Harmonic Voltage", "Heavy Light" and I guess "Starship Grooves"? Those are at least the ones that come to mind looking at this...
It's like a fusion of assets from Stick Figures, Harmonic Voltage, Starship Groove, and Heavy Light, all wrapped into one unique track all of its own. (I say Stick Figures cause don't think for a second I don't recognize those at 1:54 XD)
Thats not actually the Earth, there's rings around it. I also happen to not see any land on it lol. But yea, other than that, you're right on that one. xD
How long have you been around (or watching Animusic/fanmade animations)? I started working on this in early 2019 and was uploading frequent test videos on another channel; entirely possible you saw it back then and it seeped into your dreams
@@MarchCain I mean, this is the first time I've seen this one (thanks to a kindly viewer who put a playlist in The Science Elf's video), but I've ABSOLUTELY had dreams about Animusics That Didn't Exist. There was a big pillar bass instrument right in the center of one of these dreams so 🤔
@@imlxh7126 You should check out Ambient Glow if you haven't already ua-cam.com/video/2wPGvGtJwHQ/v-deo.html. I worked on the animation/programming on Ambient Glow and I'm generally more proud of it than I am Genesis.
Apologies for the delay; I saw the Bandcamp notification a couple days ago, but it was at 3 AM and it accidentally slipped my mind... here: marchcain.bandcamp.com/track/genesis
@MarchCain It's all good, man. Thank you so much for seeing my suggestion! I love this animation and thought it was such a vibe that I'd love to have on my music app.
@@MarchCain Wait a minute, you did another fan made Animusic song called "Twilight"? What happened to the animation for it, was it abandoned, taken down, or is it still in the works?
A: “Sir, you have to see this.” B: “What is it?” A: “Remember the ruins of that ancient alien civilization, the ones with the music machines?” B: “From planet Animusic?” A: “Yes .” B: “Yeah, what of it?” A: “You’re gonna wanna look at this.” *moves away from monitor* B: “Well I’ll be…”
Very nice! It is not my approach, because I try to make animations that contain anticipations, and not just 'reactions on the spot' while the music is playing. Nevertheless, _this is excellent!_ It far exceeds my present abilities to model, which I am working on daily.
Yeah, there's a lot of small nitpicks I have with Genesis that I would change now (especially with the animation). If I remember correctly the bells were modeled last, and I was in a bit of a rush to finish this project. I'd suggest checking out Ambient Glow (if you haven't already), as the animation and models are far better
the music style kinds got an old school sound but i cant place it. what the song inspired by anything? i want to say a 90s vibe maybe mega man. never the less i like this one alot. well done!
This is better than ANIMUSIC hands down. It comes from the Heavy Light concept from Animusic. Well done hoping to see new work from you in the near future.
I have another animation I would like to release by the end of this year/early 2025. Was also thinking about making other, non-music-animation content (probably based on coding projects), but we'll see
It took on and off work (over the course of about 2-3 months) to complete the programming for the animation, and at the time my MIDI animation software was about a year old in development. Anything controlled by a note was procedural (except for the gong, which was hand animated, regrettably). MIDAS tells me 156,374 keyframes were created procedurally in 1 minute and 43 seconds.
The likeliness of you seeing this comment is low, but if you are able to show us how we can get the MIDAS engine, that'd be really amazing. After animusic said they'd release their engine and then never did, I've desperately wanted a replacement that could do around the same thing.
Sorry, but MIDAS is closed source, and as of right now, I don't have plans to change that. Maintaining the software and documenting it for public use is currently too much of a hassle; combined with the fact I've spent four years on the R&D side, etc... Simply put, I don't want to worry about the public maintenance of the software, and I'd rather worry about programming it to be fit to Zach and I's workflow. I will say that github.com/jamesa08/MIDIAnimator is currently the best open source music animation software right now. I don't have experience with it personally, but I'm friends with the person currently developing it and it's probably your best bet.
If you liked Genesis, I'd highly recommend checking out a new project I've been working on with Zach Goertzen called Ambient Glow. Poorly recreated at that... But there is some effort here...

Are the one who banned me?
Oh, I've gotten really fond of both this and Ambient Glow, because they really strike a cord in this Animusic-loving fan.
Very well done and a great homage to the original Animusic! I do like the Harmonic Voltage feel.
Same here, it is just so much to feel the energy from the whole picture!

I love the intro before the main part its so calming and tranquil would love to see something come out of LLM with that theme

Excellent work. This is a fantastic tribute to the inspiration of Animusic as well.
