Shame you can't attach a Bone Singer to the Wraithknight, would make it nigh unkillable. Saying that it only says the Bone Singer has to be within 3' of a Wraith Construct to restore D3 wounds. And when it's within 3' it gets the Lone Operative ability
Thanks for this video. Interesting analysis for WKnight in the current state of 10th. I slightly regret I glued the scattershield to my suncannon-Knight.
Dude tyvm it is my pleasure! Thanks for the support 😊 Ya dude I feel you on the Shield, you can always tell people that it’s a “shield cannon” and just count it as a Wraithcannon! IMHO the shield looks so cool!
510 point cost is too high for its very low volume of attacks, limited melee strength unless you take the sword which further limits its volume of attacks. 2+ save is nice but no invuln save makes it die very fast to anti vehicle attacks. Also it is not a titanic character so it cannot koolaid man like knights, and it cannot shoot and do an action like imperial knights.
You are high on the copium, no offense. Imperial and Chaos Knights have more firepower and survivability for 100-150+ points less. And let's face it, the Eldar suck now, our army rule has been nerfed into worthlessness and our detachment is utter meh. The Eldar were OP at the beginning of 10th but the consecutive nerfs went overboard as usual and were accompanied by a series of punitive points increases on all our good units who were of course dependent on that army rule having value. But when the army rule was "fixed" the punitive points increases stayed and remained a trend even. This has happened for the past 3 editions and is obviously the GW game plan for Eldar going forward. OP out of the gate, nerf the mechanics into oblivion but leave the punitive points increases that came with the nerfs to effectively neuter the whole faction. The only people even playing Eldar are either highly skilled competitors proving these skills by accepting the disadvantage or dedicated nuts like myself. I mean really, +25 points for Yvraine? Were Ynnari even winning any tournaments? Was the Ynnari win rate even over 40%? Punitive Nerfs
@@theophrastusbomblastus821 The Eldar don’t suck man I’m sorry but that is a bad take. The army ability isn’t great but the detachment is one of the most useful in the entire game even if personally I think it’s boring. One of the first things I said in this video was that the Wraithknight may not be ultra competitive but it’s better than people think in semi competitive and casual settings and can still be awesome at your LGS. Maybe even an RTT and less competitive tournaments. Context is everything dude. As for Imperial or Chaos knights the -1 to damage often offsets the 4 extra wounds that the knights get and the wraithknight can hit a lot harder. Knights are not as durable as you would think the 5++ doesn’t do a lot imho
@@Sealbag I mean to each their own 🤷♂️ my issue with his statements was that his reasoning for them being “trash” were just not true from a mathematical standpoint, the only true statement being that the Wraithknight is overcosted which I agree I think it’s about 30pts too high
P-Nexus games allow half the army to be placed in strategic reserve and/or deep strike, this makes it possible for the WK to be placed in strategic reserve.
@@fenristhor9204 not quite. Strategic reserves (units with deep strike and aircraft) and regular reserves (all units that dont deepstrike) have separate point totals that can go into them. 25% of the army size. So while yes, you can start with 1000/2000 points on field; the 510 point wraithknight exceeds 25% by 10 points and it would start in regular reserves if it was able to, which it cannot.
Welp if you were wrong the first time maybe you’re wrong now. Maybe the wraith knights are just good enough? Not as click baity a title I’ll grant you but all things in moderation.
Ya I don’t think I’m wrong on this one my friend, they have all the tools to be good in the settings I described in the video just a tad too expensive 😊
I just used Wraithknight with double HWC AND an Avatar vs a monster heavy Tyranids army and it was extremely funny. My opponent had to hide 3 exocrines, 2 maleceptors, a hive tyrant, a Tyrannofex and 3 carnifexes behind one big ruin in a corner of his deployment zone.
According to PN mission rule’s apparently you can have up to half your forces in strat reserve now…still need to double check but people have been telling me I missed that in the mission update
I will definitely retry one in a test game as soon as possible. For durability, I think an attention point is playing against Tau, I saw in an online battle report one skatach being killed at range in one single activation, but I never checked the math against the regular wraithknight
My meta is so full of tanks and knights, the wraithknight never was bad around here. 😅 Suncannon I really still dont feel tho. Vs 4++ it kills like 3 teq. If they have only three wounds, no -damage and no fnp. Which most of the better ones have. That i can pretty much do with the heavy wraithcannon.
@@ProxyHammer1 but what doesnt? 😅. I have windriders for that. What the wraithknight needs is a profile split. Because lets be honest, what we really want to play is sword and board.😅
