Traumatizing having a mom that has trauma dumped my sister and me our entire lives. Literally see her reliving every detail and even if we didn’t experience it we now hold the trauma. 😢

I'm truly sorry to hear about the challenges you and your sister have faced with trauma dumping. It can be deeply affecting to carry the weight of another person's traumatic experiences, especially when it's a parent, someone you naturally look to for support and stability. It's important to set and maintain healthy boundaries. You might need to kindly but firmly let your mom know when you're not able to handle these conversations. It’s okay to say something like, "I love you and I know you're going through a lot, but I'm not able to talk about this right now." Sometimes, people aren't aware of the concept of trauma dumping or its effects. Sharing information about how trauma affects families can be a gentle way to make your mom aware of the impact of her actions without direct confrontation. Make sure to take care of your mental and emotional health. Remember, it's not selfish to take steps to protect yourself emotionally-it's necessary. Your well-being is just as important. Sending you much warmth and healing ❤️😊
