For your information, lifts can go up/down just two meters (half their "normal" size) if you attach them to a belt or machine. So you can put down an assembler, a splitter on top of another splitter, and you can connect the assembler with the upper splitter via lift. It looks funny as a hologram but when built it looks great.

Straight belts dont like 45 degree up or downs. Switch back to normal. Works fine
