Damn this block survived molten lava and took a fair amount of time to melt in the furnace. Respect 👌
Water has an amazingly high specific heat. Lava does not. Ice is going to hold up a LOT longer than most people realize even when they're pouring molten rock on it.

Actually clear ice is commercially used because it does not melt quickly in soda.
