Getting dressed is the game changer for me. I’ve known for a while. If I stay in my pajamas I don’t clean. I sit on my couch and I’m not even a good mom when I stay in my pajamas. So I get up and at least put on a bra and a decent shirt and have started cleaning in my apron more often. Sweatpants are acceptable even if I’m wearing a dress shirt. Lol
Hi Cass, I stumbled upon your channel right before Christmas, “WHAT A LIFE CHANGING “ to say the least. I had already decided to declutter my house but didn’t know where to start. I love the 5 minutes idea, but of course I want to keep going. I already declutter my bathroom vanity, my linen closet and today I worked in my kitchen. I got rid of so much that I have empty spaces in my cabinets. I will work on the bottom cabinets tomorrow. Thank you for your your honesty I am so inspired.
I always take my Christmas decorations down in small sections over a week or two. It helps me not feel overwhelmed by it and also doesn’t leave me with that kinda sad feeling when everything feels so sparse. Since it’s gradual it doesn’t feel quite so drastic.

My neighbors were scared of me, being the peppy, bright eyed ponytailed country girl...with screaming death coming out my window for an hour everyday...LOL Now, my kids and I listen to very "epic music scores from action movies". Some are here on UA-cam. You can "epically" dust and vacuum like us!

The apron really helps, I resisted but I started wearing one about 6 months ago. Now I have 3 aprons! Definitely helps with doing the dishes, my clothes don’t get wet now 🤪 but I wear my apron over my pajamas! I’m a rebel! 😬

My Xmas decorations are staying up for another few weeks until I am sick of the sight of them, we are expecting our annual 2 inches of snow soon in Ireland and we have to have the decorations up for pretend Xmas. I think that taking down decorations at the end of January is far more enjoyable than pushing yourself to do it in the first week of January
When I feel overwhelmed with the house and just want to watch TV, I play the Commercial Game. I clean, put away stuff, or whatever just during the commercials. Those few minutes allow me to chip away at the mess little by little, increasing my confidence and motivation after each break. After a bit (sometimes it takes more than one show), my TV watching period becomes shorter and shorter. Even taking my drinking glass and putting it in the dishwasher makes rheroom better than it was.

I noticed only after we got Netflix years ago how much I used to do during commercials cause I can't sit still unless I have something to hyper-focus on. It's amazing what changes in your setting by the time you sit down again! Only thing commercials are good for! LOL

I made myself a dress out of crepe paper (big mistake). The dress started falling apart halfway through the costume party. Fortunately, I had on tights and a turtleneck underneath. But I still felt sorta naked. 😏

Me too. My husband almost died on Thanksgiving night from heart failure due to strep pneumonia and sepsis. He's been recovering at home since just before Christmas. Its a miracle he's better now. We've been living like hermits until recently because covid would have finished him off for sure. Things are so much better, but I feel like all the stress of the past few months has caught up with me. I'm "out of sinc" with the universe this week, if that makes sense to anyone. My motivation has taken a nose dive. This video came at a perfect time. Five minutes it is! So grateful for fellow You Tubers and their support. Thank you.

I always get up in the morning, make up my hair, do my make up and put on a dress. I love how it energizes me. I make my coffee and then I tackle everything that needs to be done that day.

I used to live in my pjs! Even with carpooling the kids. Now even just putting on leggings and a top different from my pjs(and making my bed everyday) changes my entire mood! It’s crazy to think that just making your bed and changing out of your pjs can change your entire day but it does! I’m proof for sure and I’m 41! It’s never too late to change your routine. My days are better just from those two things....and doing my dishes “every” night!
My husband and I were just talking about taking our tree down this weekend. He’s like “well we can’t do it on Saturday because the Colt’s game is on!” 🤦🏼♀️ lol. Sunday it is!

Actually discovered it this year, with all the stay-at-home, my female family members dont wear bras around the house, and I was getting so many calls to help them go clean! We finally realized the cause! I'm the only "blessed" one in the family, and I am required to wear a bra even to sleep...
I love your story! I was invited to a Fasching Party (like Carnival) when I moved to Germany. My German was poor, but I bought makeup and became a leopard. At the party, we were welcomed by a pirate. Went inside and EVERYONE was dressed as a pirate. Date forgot to tell me. I won second place, because NOT a pirate, but I had a blast. The musician played "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" on the organ. He left at 11, and his grandson rocked out with Motown and great dance music. Weird but fun! Didn't know I bought stage makeup, so had to scrub it off with Comet. Yikes!

There is a good mixture of types living in our house & not a lot gets done because we can't agree on how to organise our shared spaces 😕 Added to that, we have nothing like the amazing stores you have access to in the UK, & often amaz0n is a lot more pricey if they in fact, carry similar items. Maybe an idea for a future project for your channel could be looking at available solutions in a specific country, & suggesting ways to DIY too. Thank you for taking the time to read.
I took the last week of 2020 off and I was super motivated when my kids were in daycare. I painted my master bedroom, took things to the thrift store, steam cleaned my carpets, worked on a quilt for a friend, picked up my sewing room, put hardware on my bathroom cabinets, deep cleaned my car. And so much more. I'm still going this week. I think doing this kind of stuff the last week of the year really helps going into the new year.
Thank you for inspiring me to get off the couch and declutter my home. I brought a box to the thrift store on Monday and have a dozen narrow mouth canning jars that I'm giving to a friend. Bonus? She'll give me a jar or two of her homemade salsa. It's a win win situation.

I vacuum the stove and countertops before I wipe them down, unless they are wet. It just makes cleaning easier.

I love that dress- I'm a big fan of the house dress in general, though. It's a one-piece outfit (zero effort- taking the pyjamas off is harder!) but it 100% looks like you tried 👍
My frog is finishing painting the walls so all the furniture can be moved back to their rightful places...instead of a big pile in the middle of the room. Me too. My husband almost died on Thanksgiving night from heart failure due to strep pneumonia and sepsis. He's been recovering at home since just before Christmas. Its a miracle he's better now. We've been living like hermits until recently because covid would have finished him off for sure. Things are so much better, but I feel like all the stress of the past few months has caught up with me. I'm "out of sinc" with the universe this week, if that makes sense to anyone. My motivation has taken a nose dive. This video came at a perfect time. Five minutes it is!

Thanks, you never cease to amaze me with how you just figure things out. A changed psychologist named BJ Fogg from Stanford says a lot of the same things you mentioned. Im still amazed with how you figured out the different organization styles. It's helped me tremendously.

I always get up in the morning, make up my hair, do my make up and put on a dress. I love how it energizes me. I make my coffee and then I tackle everything that needs to be done that day.

I used to live in my pjs! Even with carpooling the kids. Now even just putting on leggings and a top different from my pjs(and making my bed everyday) changes my entire mood! It’s crazy to think that just making your bed and changing out of your pjs can change your entire day but it does! I’m proof for sure and I’m 41! It’s never too late to change your routine. My days are better just from those two things....and doing my dishes “every” night!

It really is the first step, and the most important, I think, to being constructive. Actually discovered it this year, with all the stay-at-home, my female family members dont wear bras around the house, and I was getting so many calls to help them go clean! We finally realized the cause! I'm the only "blessed" one in the family, and I am required to wear a bra even to sleep...
I must admit, I am totally motivated to buy a costume now 😜

I love your story! I was invited to a Fasching Party (like Carnival) when I moved to Germany. My German was poor, but I bought makeup and became a leopard. At the party, we were welcomed by a pirate. Went inside and EVERYONE was dressed as a pirate. Date forgot to tell me. I won second place, because NOT a pirate, but I had a blast. The musician played "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" on the organ. He left at 11, and his grandson rocked out with Motown and great dance music. Weird but fun! Didn't know I bought stage makeup, so had to scrub it off with Comet. Yikes!

I do enjoy your posts, really. I do, but would like to ask if you will be doing more of the Bug series. There is a good mixture of types living in our house & not a lot gets done because we can't agree on how to organise our shared spaces 😕 Added to that, we have nothing like the amazing stores you have access to in the UK, & often amaz0n is a lot more pricey if they in fact, carry similar items. Maybe an idea for a future project for your channel could be looking at available solutions in a specific country, & suggesting ways to DIY too. Thank you for taking the time to read.

I took the last week of 2020 off and I was super motivated when my kids were in daycare. I painted my master bedroom, took things to the thrift store, steam cleaned my carpets, worked on a quilt for a friend, picked up my sewing room, put hardware on my bathroom cabinets, deep cleaned my car. And so much more. I'm still going this week. I think doing this kind of stuff the last week of the year really helps going into the new year.
Thank you for inspiring me to get off the couch and declutter my home. I brought a box to the thrift store on Monday and have a dozen narrow mouth canning jars that I'm giving to a friend. Bonus? She'll give me a jar or two of her homemade salsa. It's a win win situation.
