Loved The Krypton Factor. Favourite game show is still Fifteen-To-One, when presented by William G. Stewart. Fast paced, no filler, easy to follow.

I can't stand the "jolly hockey sticks" vibe of Miranda. Her friends are just cringeworthy with their "Such fun !" and "Bear with...bear with...bear with" crap. Oh look, I've fallen over ! Isn't that a scream ! No it's not !

I think there was another Tarzan show around the same time, which was on one of the big American networks. Had him in present day New York. WIth Jane as a Police Detective. Only lasted about seven episodes.
Mention of the Krypton factor reminded me of a couple of other ITV things we sat through happily back in the day. But might not manage now. Talent shows Opportunity Knocks. And New Faces. Talent shows is what we called them before the term reality tv was invented. And when you had to vote by postcard because nobody had developed the Internet yet. Or telephone voting lines.
Opportunity Knocks was Hosted by Hughie Green from 1956 - 1978 and was half an hour on a monday night. Les Dawson got his start there. and later hosted a revival on the bbc.
New Faces was an hour on a saturday night. With panellists assessing each act. One panelist was Tony Hatch, who was the Simon Cowell of his day. Lenny Henry got his start on this. So did Showaddywaddy. Ask your parents about the latter, kids. Both were fine but products of their time. Formats long gone.

I too watched the Krypton Factor when I was young. It began in the year I was born. Too bloody hard for me though to crack the puzzles as a working class kid from a housing estate.
Miranda - fair play to her getting her own show. I never watched her sitcom and I doubt I'd like it if I sat through an episode.
Son of a Beach - I'd probably like this if the humour is a bit "Carry On". ☺️

This is USA calling... and I LOVED "Miranda"! I thought it was funny and intense at the same time!
But if you DON'T like "Miranda" you WILL after watching the recent Yank version "Call Me Kat". Developed by Big Bang Theory alumni we had high hopes for this one... but, on its own it was boring and forgettable. But for those of us who'd seen "Miranda" "Kat was at best a watered-down re-interpratation.
For every one UK-to-US transfer that is a success- "Till Death Us Do Part", "Steptoe & Son" and "Man About the House"- there are at least three failures! (There have been three Yank attempts at a "Fawlty Towers"... and they all SUCKED!!)

    • @XianHu

I presume the 3 shows you're referring to were...
"Snavely" from 1978 with Harvey Korman, Betty White & Frank LaLoggia
"Amanda's" from 1983 with Bea Arthur, Fred McCarren, Simone Griffeth, Rick Hurst & Tony Rosato
"Payne" from 1999 with John Larroquette, JoBeth Williams, Julie Benz & Rick Batalla.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong.
Did you ever see "Over the Top" from 1997 with Tim Curry, Annie Potts, and Steve Carell, because I thought that one looked promising, but was cancelled after just a few episodes. It's not really related to "Fawlty Towers" anymore than "Newhart" (1982-1990), aside from being a hotel related sitcom, but thinking of the other shows somehow reminded me of it.

I never minded the change of lead character in Game On as much as some seem to. I still watch the entire 3 series of it at least yearly on DVD box set.
Both actors as Matthew were quite different. I just felt that Neil Stuke was more likeable because he seemed vunerable.

A useful reminder to myself as to why I stopped watching television passed the early 2000's. At least, for the first half of this video. I didn't think, 'Game On', was that bad, really. Not in the first series, at least. It didn't have the same chemistry going on in the subsequent ones, once they changed one of the characters. I was never a big fan of quiz shows, per se, so the Krypton Factor never really got much of a look-in, with me.
One of the Tarzan series I recall was a cartoon version made by Filmation in the 70's, that often re-used the same sequences of running/diving or other actions, in all their other cartoon series of the time. The sound effects, again, were not so much re-used as over-used. The other being a live action series that was shown during the day-time on ITV, so was hardly ever seen by us schoolkids of the time. Another one of those that you only saw if you were ill or during the half-term holidays. The only thing good about it was the theme tune, and was known for the inclusion of stock footage of various wild animals, intercut between close-ups of Ron Ely, who played Tarzan, miming the famous Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan call.

I liked Miranda. I wasn't overly into the show though and remember getting bored with it after a while and stopped watching it.
The good - Martial Law (1998-2000). This is a show I quite liked. It starred Sammo Hung as Sammo Law, a Chinese law officer and martial arts expert who comes to Los Angeles in search of a colleague and remained in the United States working for the LA Police department to help fight crime.

I really liked all of Game On...although problemic. For a long time I thought the first Matthew was in the pretty good US remake of Being Human, but that turned out to be Sam Witwer. I'd say pretty good, I only watched the first season but didn't finish as it got cancelled and heard it ended on a cliffhanger.
    Miranda was shit. Very shit.

It's okay! I don't remember who she played because I likely blocked out most of the show due to it being just God awful, but that makes sense. I do recall Tarzan talking to her in an office or something. Even she couldn't make the series watchable.

I have two shows for the next video, but you don't have to include both in a single video if you don't want. Also, unrelated, but you get way too much flack in the comments.
Underrated: Mission 2110. It's like every other British challenge show for kids (like Fun House), but with a storyline inspired (I think) by Terminator. Currently, it's partially lost media, but it's well worth watching what's on the internet, even though it is unfortunately serialized, with an interesting, if simple, story. I say "unfoftunate", because some plotlines can't be seen to the end, like the one started in the first episode.
As for a more popular show: Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated. All I'll say about it is that it's nowhere near like the Scooby-Doo cartoons that you watched growing up, and it's Riverdale, but better
