I feel like Funimation could make a genuinely hilarious dub for this show if they did it right. Nagai's humor is just crass/clever enough that American audiences could genuinely laugh at this despite Japanese culture's lack of sarcasm. Get a couple of good (maybe even famous) comedy writers to put a good script together with western cultural references to bridge the gap, it could really really work.
The Japanese have sarcasm. Its just too subtle and deadpan for Americans to detect. Best to compare it with Russian humor and america with English humor
Funny fact. I've heard that the seiyu who voice Jinmen in the CB Chara Go Nagai OVAs and in the Devilman OVAs also does the voices of Deszaras the leader of the Decepticons in Transformers Victory. He also did the voice of Piccoro Daimao in the first Dragón Ball anime show

オススメでサムネを見てもしや、と思ったら大昔のわずかな記憶が残ってる作品でした。
デビルマンの、「く〜もの、いっと〜、かくてき、おお？」というセリフと女の子の「亀の肉美味しいね」というセリフやシレーヌとの戦闘シーンを微かに覚えてました。
大人になって見ると懐かしくもあり面白くもありますね。
あと覚えてるのは宇宙船で手招きしながら亀を呼ぶシーン。亀が宇宙船で呼吸をスーハーしてるシーンです。後編の記憶はほぼ無いので楽しみです。
