      Adriana L Do you always wear the same part? I used to be just like you, when I tried to flip it it looked so stupid! I just changed my part by parting my hair while wet on different side and blowdrying, after of couple times I can flip my hair/change parting whenever I want!

      I know exactly what you mean. I part my hair in the middle as well because it never looks right when I try something else and I'm so used to it that I get annoyingly aware of my hair when I have a side part.

    I was bullied in school relentlessly for having a "weird" hairline" or "bald spot", and to hear your disclaimer about wanting to be encouraging and positive when it comes to playing with your hair as opposed to "fixing" hair "problems" honestly made me cry, because I really needed to hear that. :') Thank you. I love these root-focused volume tips, because that's what I really need as someone with super thick, wavy hair. Otherwise I just get the dreaded pyramid hair. (Even the powder trick was helpful because my hair is oddly thin at the temples)

      Chris B with curly hair (I'm a curly woman too ;) ) what I love to do is flip my hair upside-down and just weave my fingers through my hair on my scalp and "mess" it up a little and then pull my fingers out. I don't rake my fingers down through my hair. Then when I flip my hair back up it looks fuller and my curls are still in their curl pattern.

    Hi Kayley, Always love your tips! I had the space at my forehead for many years, due to heavy hair worn in ponytails. I started putting pure castor oil (hexane-free, cold pressed...Jamaican Black Castor Oil is wonderful too) on those spots overnight before I washed my hair...although even 30 minutes before shampooing will help too....and within 3 months I had loads of baby hairs and a year later both sides are totally filled in. Give it a try. :)

      ccap3211 yes, it's extremely hilarious and usually based on Bible stories. It's an excellent series (the old ones at least). They are a beautiful way to teach young children the truths of the Gospel.

      ccap3211 that's sad, it's great. But as an adult, it's more about nostalgia and the message than the actual show, so it might not have the same effect on you anyway. I hope you can find the gospel in something else more suited to your age. I'll be praying for you!

      Do a simple braid. I like to add hair tonic (biolage is my favorite) and I do a braid. Also, if your hair is feeling really dry, try doing a coconut oil treatment and washing it out. It really helps. I also avoid most hair dyes and only use henna. It is permanent though.

    • @Maddyline1998
      @Maddyline1998 6 років тому +1

      My hair is like that. You should try using the twist and pull method with flat iron. I also use volumizing mousse and Redken Hot Sets before I curl, and of course hairspray afterwards. It all goes a long way in making the curls last.

    • @maikek
      @maikek 6 років тому +1

      I tried all those things, but none of my curls ever lasted longer than a few hours. I am also trying to grow my hair, so I try to avoid using heat on my hair.
      My hair also is very long already and thick and heavy on top of that, so all the weight pulling down is not helpful as well.

    • @bibliophilecb
      @bibliophilecb 6 років тому

      Have you tried just French or Dutch braiding your hair when it's damp and keeping it in there overnight, or any sort of heatless curl? My hair isn't straight but it doesn't hold heated curls at all because it's so thick and long, but heatless styles work much better, and braid waves are easy to achieve

    • @maikek
      @maikek 6 років тому

      I've tried a whole bunch of different heatless methods, nothing lasts. Braiding gives me slight waves that hold up for two hours maybe. I also experimented with a variety of products which I put in my hair before curling it overnight, but those didn't help much either.
      I've pretty much given up on it and accepted that I'll always have straight hair, at least as long as I want to wear it long :)

    Celebs always use hair building fibers in their high ponytails. And, Awwww, Kayley's little window's peak! And also SHAKE IT LIKE SALT SHAKER!!!!! Lol.

    I’m a natural blonde (#9) but color my hair dark... and every time I get a weeks worth of grow out I look balding :(
    So I use powders - fibers and even colored dry shampoo, and one thing I feel make it more natural is to brush over the area ( especially in the hairline) with a tooth brush or even a teasing brush ;) it removes a lot of the ‘powder’ look, even before I use hairspray...

    This is my first video that i watched in her channel and few minutes in this video i can already say that i like her, and i don't even know why. Halfway through this vid, i said, now i know why. I've been unfollowing beauty channels in the past because it made me feel insecure about myself and that you have to have/buy this and that product to completely feel good about yourself. The positive philosophy of this channel just came through i guess, that's why like her. God bless your soul kaley. Much love from phils.

    Kayley!! This has to be my all-time fave video from you!
    1. Your your mid-vid rant - YASS!! Your perspective and positivity makes all the difference, and that’s something we could all practice for ourselves.
    2. I love these hairline/volume tips, and prefer to frame my face like this, too!
    3. That toothbrush song / “Hairbrush” Veggie Tales homage in the bloopers! 😆
    Lastly, thanks for the bell-notification tip!!! I’m not sure why UA-cam keeps making things harder to stay up with our fave UA-cam content makers! 😤 Thanks again!! 💝💝

    I know you're struggling with your eyebrows as you mentioned in one of your other videos, but (as a person who's constantly struggling with even/similar/natural eyebrows) I have to say, that I love your eyebrows!! In basically every video I think you're brows are just the perfect combination of fashion and personality, of sleek and natural!!

    I'm so boujie that I just use an old matte brown eye shadow as filler 😂 I have branched out to try the colored dry shampoos but realized very quickly that I touch my hair a lot (and thus get brown all over my hands and face every time I do)

    I have a pixie cut, so there's not really a point in me watching styling videos. But I keep watching them anyway. I've been subbed for at least a year or two and I never tried any styles, even when I had hair down to my butt. I just enjoy watching the process! You seem like a sweet person.

    I have used both of those color blending cover-up powders and - I don't know about anyone else - but they made my scalp itch like crazy. Granted, it depends on how much I use but even if I use a little bit, I will unconsciously need to scratch my scalp and end up with these little black particles underneath my fingernails. Not a pretty look! There is a spray but it's expensive. I need to bite the bullet on that, I guess.

    I have naturally thin but silky/straight hair and I’m growing my bangs out so they’re an awkward length where it’s barely long enough to be in a high ponytail and it’s long enough to be braided back but too short to go in a low ponytail and to be flipped. My hair is ALWAYS parted on my right side so it’s hard to flip cause 1. It looks weird and dumb cause my bangs are too short and 2. It’s just like it’s permanent to the side part you know??? I’ve tried to part it the other way after taking a shower and it doesn’t really work for me :( if anyone has any tips please let me know. Btw I love you kayley so much and you always inspire me for trying new things with my hair :)
