you guys should do the hacks on one side of your head and then what you normally do on the other side! it would show whether it was a real hack/looked better or not!
I’ve been attempting that bin for months! It does work better then any other attempt for me (I can’t make a messy bun look good!) but it’s not the easiest! I had seen a super slow walk through that really helped though, and what Kayley did at the end was spot on
My sister has been using that last braid that Kayley tried on Anna Laura as her "sleeping braid" for ages and she really loves how quick and easy it is. It doesn't exactly look like a normal braid, but it gives you enough hold to last the night and a slight beach wave in the morning
It's helpful that you keep trying to recreate the look rather than just doing it once and moving on. Seeing you both work your way through it help me see the construction of creating the looks. TFS!!!
Thank you for mentioning hand dexterity. My hair is down to my butt and I love braided pigtails but I broke some fingers in one hand and my strength and dexterity are shot. This looks like a decent alternative to spending 30 minutes trying to braid my hair and getting frustrated after dropping the strands over and over.
For the second bun, it's as if you were putting your hair in a ponytail, but instead of letting all of the ends through, you pull them halfway and then twist the elastic as if to continue the ponytail, but with all the extra hair "inside". Then just wrap the elastic around the base and it's done. I learned it almost 10 years ago by watching a girl from my class in high school do it a few times!
I appreciate you guys doing that messy bun 1000+ times, I've finally figured it out thanks to y'all! And it is pretty easy and very sturdy for my thin, fine, soft, long hair!!! That you for all the time and frustration to figure this out!
The messy bun thing, I always used to do that when my hair was longer esp when I’m in a hurry. You don’t have to think about it much. Just flip and turn you hair in random ways each time you twist the tie. That’s what works for me. 😂
tip for the bun - a lot of your attempts looked like you were flipping the hair up and back instead of down and back which I think is where the frustration lied. when you flip your hand, you fingers should go from the front of your head to your ears first, not from the front to the top of your head. Also one thing I found that worked great with my long hair is to flip the hair once, loop the hair tir over, then tread my hair through the loop until I run out of hair. I find this covers the hair tie better and is much more secure for heavy long hair
My new favorite go-to bun I found on tiktok. I tried that version, and it did not turn out for me. The way I found that is my go to (I have long hair) is to put your hair up like a normal ponytail, but on your last loop with your hair tie, make a small bun with the rest of the hair hanging out. Then take the hair hanging down and twist it slightly and wrap around the pony tail, and tuck the ends into the hair tie. To finish it off, fan out that first little bun you made and pin each side with a bobby pin. This is the most secure bun and super easy. It works out every time for me.
ANNA LAURA!!!! I’ve been loving the content youve been putting out for your new job. I’m a follower just to support you and I SERIOUSLY love it! You’re so talented. I aspire to incorporate some of your video techniques in my social media manager career! And I’m so happy to see you back here too! Youve been missed. We love you both!!!
This was fun to watch! I would just say a “hack” is essentially to make something easier and/or save money. For the first hack, it’s MUCH faster, easier, and effective, to skip the rollers and simply bevel the root with a wide-barrel curling iron from the drugstore, after dry shampoo.
i have NEVER been able to do a messy bun. and i tried 1 time while watching this and i freakin got it! idk if i did it exactly how you guys did but i just discovered a way to do a messy bun in my hair! woohoo!!!! update:just tried it a second time and it worked too! also I used a pro hair tie and it made it so easy to get out! (discovered those from your videos too)
Same. And while trying them as well! Half of them don’t work for me! I’ve tried this “easy” bun tutorial and ended up the same… CONFUSED I guess the only good thing I got out of it was an arm workout. Lol
Hey ladies 👋 thanks for your videos! 💜 I was happy to see you figured out a way to make the ponytail hacks work. I did notice though that the girl in the hack didn’t have a part when doing the ponytails which is why it might of not worked out at the beginning but either way you made it work so thanks. I was mostly excited for the 1st 2
That faux braid is exactly how i like to "braid" my hair for bed. But instead of hair I use a silk scarf! I put my hair in a side pony, and slide the scarf through and then tie the two ends together, and just Pull through, cross, pull through cross, until i get to the end.
For the ponytail hack (two section twist & pull through and over), why are you doing a part in the front? You can do it without the part (just a normal pulled straight back on top ponytail) and it’s a lot easier and more successful.
I finally got the bun with Kayley’s instructions and it still took me 15 tries, but it’s cute, and it works and then I just set a scrunchie over it and it’s cute
Omg! I have NEVER made a comment on anything, but you girls had me laughing harder then I have in a long time! I mean belly laughing! I had convinced myself that I just didn't have what it takes to do some of these hairstyle hacks, but thanks to you two doing these very informative, very REAL demonstrations, I feel like I can go ahead & start watching hairstyle hack videos again & it's okay when it ends with me learning a new curse word to mouth while throwing my hairbrush!! 😅🙃Thank you ladies!😊
It was so fun to see Anna Laura again! You guys are too much together 😂 I really love your editor, they just really take the videos up a level of greatness
I tried that bun maybe a few times and I was done. No thanks lol I give you props for trying as much as you did. Lol it was awesome to see Anna Laura back!
All hair (or no hair!) is beautiful stunning gorgeous and remember that if you’re frustrated that styles don’t work for your hair type 💕 Re: the messy bun technique. I don’t know how to describe it but it just comes naturally over time, like how braiding/French braiding your own hair feels so uncomfortable and awkward until you practice it a ton. Maybe it also helps that I have thick, long, wavy hair? Potential tips? - Using a velvet scrunchie for this might be helpful for beginners as it does more of the work creating volume and security than a weaker, less friction-y elastic or hair bobble. - I don’t pull the remaining elastic/scrunchie post-twist all the way down to the base of my scalp. I leave it slightly above so it has even more tension holding the hair so that it surrounds the ponytail base and thus is a bit more secure. - If I want it to look more intentional and chic, or if someone doesn’t have the technique totally down, here’s another suggestion. Do it as best as you can and just make sure it’s secure on your head. Then use like 2 bobby pins to ensure your hair completely covers the elastic/scrunchie that way. I use the trick from Scout’s ballerina bun video tutorial for a magazine (Cosmo? Elle? Glamour?). Grab the hair into the bobby pin with the loop of the pin facing toward the head & the 2 ends facing out. Pull bobby pin ends away from the head, then flip it *under* and secure the pin *under* the hair, elastic/scrunchie, and ponytail base. Maybe if you only need a thin elastic (unlike me), you could literally pin *into* the elastic itself. Good luck ☺️
Has anyone else seen the batiste dry shampoo set on fire? 😅 that’s all I can think then she adds heat to the dry shampoo 🤯🤯😅😅😅😅🔥🔥🔥 plz don’t fry your pretty hair off! Haha
The first hack with the dry shampoo. I don’t think it worked out for long but the hack with the Airwrap and the pins. Amazing 🤩. I will try this. Just need the pins or the clips.
VIDEO IDEA ! MESSY BUN TRYOUTS - please do a video testing all of laineymariebeauty's messy buns variations. Thank you! Great video guys, very fun to watch!
I think the answer with the ponytail hack for Annalaura is to sacrifice her part haha. The TikTok looked like she had all her hair combed fully back instead of keeping it parted. If you keep it parted, the flip through will always shift the hair weirdly.
I got the bun! Took me about 8 attempts too! ... you guys were twisting the wrong direction (go under towards your face instead of back and over the top). I love it! Not too tight but super secure
I do the bun thing and for me it does work every time, but it took me a little while to figure it out and you need the right kind of band. I think toward the end of the bun bit you had it right except I do one loop around my pony to hold it in place and then make the “rainbow” on the second loop. Then I make sure I’m twisting toward the mirror
I’ve figured out the bunhack - what I saw you guys do is switch up between flipping one way and then the other - I think that’s what messed you up… What I do is that instead of grabbing a loop with my thumb and index finger at the bottom, I stick my fingers through the bottom bit, making sure that my little finger and thumb are on the outside of what’s essentially a ponytail… I make sure the ponytail holder I’m using is a little loose and worn ( preferably fabric covered ‘phone cord’ pony holders) - new ones are too tight to do the flip… The holder is on the wrist that’s grabbing the bottom… with the other hand I pull the ponytail holder over top of the hand… Then I stick my hand through, holding my palm towards the mirror, I then slide my thumb by my ear, towards the back of my head and flip the pony over twice ( the second pass is always harder)… Then I grab the hair the other hand was holding, and with the now loose hand I pull over the pony holder.. pull apart, arrange and pin in place… To remove it’s easiest to remove all pins, lift the bun and grab the part of the pony holder that’s closest to the scalp ( that’s the part you pulled over when you made it)… That way the pony holder won’t get tangled in the hair, because you remove it in the same steps as you put it in….
This was fun to watch and I enjoyed it. The only problem with the updos is getting in and out of the car with it remaining intact! It’s hard. But it’s hot in the summertime and I’ll continue to use updos. Bayeee! 😄💜
- Are you cool? - I'm cool, whatchu mean?! I love all your videos, don't get me wrong, but the sisters videos are my favourite, foreveeer ! Love you girls' dynamics !
I love both of your dynamic doing these tik tok hairstyles 🤩🥰😄 also.. I may or may not laughed a little for the left up corner saying attemp over 1 million or something 🤣😂
I was just thinking how long is been since I've seen Anna Laura and I was missing the sister vibe! Great video! I will be watching several times to try to get that bun!
I would love to have both a camera from the front as well as one in the back when you're trying these styles! I just stood in the mirror for 20 minutes trying to do that bun..
Definitely All super adorable BUT...that last hack that Kayley did..the pull-through braid is something that Ive been doing for YEARS , if I woulda known it wasn’t a thing I would have made a video showing how to do it the Right way, which is to switch sides that u pull through each time And, before pulling through twist it!! Btw it should look like a faux fish tail when ur done not just a regular 3 strand.
Kayley: why does dry shampoo always make my hair even greasier? I finally figured out that I needed to let it set for a minute before massaging it, but it still gets greasy. And if I do it on the second day before my hair gets greasy on its own, the shampoo itself makes it greasy. I’ve tried a few different brands. What’s the deal?
I love powder dry shampoo - now when I try spray dry shampoo, no matter what the brand is, I'm like "what is this? did I even use any?" but the powder does some heavy lifting. I sprinkle, let it sit for over a minute, shake my hands into it a bit (not massaging as much as Kayley does), then flip over and brush a couple times to get it a couple inches down. I have thick wavy greasy hair and it's the method that works the best for me!
The only thing I find works for my fine hair / oily skin is Klorane dry shampoo powder. The spray worked but didn't last many uses. Love their non-aerosol dry shampoo with oat milk, I buy on Amazon. I apply it with a big fluffy makeup brush directly into roots on my crown to get through second day!
Lisa, my hair dresser said to spray it on freshly washed/styled hair. I have fine thin hair and always had the same issue you have. I asked her about it and she said NOT to spray it on already dirty hair because it makes it greasy with the dry powder. The trick is using it on your hair while it is clean then it absorbs the oil before it gets the strands greasy! Works like a charm. I also give it another mist before bed the first day of fresh washed hair and sleep on it.
The trick to the bun is to keep your thumb out of the pony tail that way your wrist can turn! I seriously took days figuring that stupid bun out just to hate how big it was on my head😂
you guys should do the hacks on one side of your head and then what you normally do on the other side! it would show whether it was a real hack/looked better or not!
I’ve been attempting that bin for months! It does work better then any other attempt for me (I can’t make a messy bun look good!) but it’s not the easiest! I had seen a super slow walk through that really helped though, and what Kayley did at the end was spot on

Ohhhh. Okay, trying that
The tall one looks like girl on first footloose
@@lisamartin1758 I think the other looks like Melissa Joan Hart. Lol.
Anna Laura looked like a old timey actress when she had her hair all clipped up in curls from the air wrap- she’s so pretty!
I think the problem with the pull-through pony was that you had a middle part. Her hair was all swept straight back on top.
Bingo!
You guys are not only entertaining but also give constructive and USABLE advice.
Round of applause (as requested) for my beloved Anna Laura👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You 2 ladies are a delight!
I appreciate you guys doing that messy bun 1000+ times, I've finally figured it out thanks to y'all! And it is pretty easy and very sturdy for my thin, fine, soft, long hair!!! That you for all the time and frustration to figure this out!

Hooray AL is back! We’ve missed seeing you two sister-ing it up! 💛💛💛

Just started the video and ANNALAURA IS BACK!!!!! 🙌🎉💖 missed seeing you and Kayley together so much 💕
This video makes me feel SOOOOOOO much better at my fails of trying these "messy bun" hacks!
i have NEVER been able to do a messy bun. and i tried 1 time while watching this and i freakin got it! idk if i did it exactly how you guys did but i just discovered a way to do a messy bun in my hair! woohoo!!!!

Anna Laura’s facial expressions while doing the bun are literally my facial expressions whenever I watch a hair tutorial. 😂😂
Same. And while trying them as well! Half of them don’t work for me! I’ve tried this “easy” bun tutorial and ended up the same… CONFUSED I guess the only good thing I got out of it was an arm workout. Lol

Tried the "braid", then twisted it into a bun. That looks really cute and a lot more intricate than a normal braided bun. :)
Oooohh I love that!! I'll need to try!
Anna Laura offering to put her hair in a ballet bun for Kayley's wedding made my day. So cute and funny
That bun *hack* looked like an Olympic sport!
So happy to see Anna Laura again!!!! She looks gorgeous an refreshed! Great video girls! Thank you for making me smile today ❤ love you
I learnt how to do that last faux braid from bebexo like ages ago 👀 I used to wear it to school when I would need to braid my hair within a minute.
That faux braid is exactly how i like to "braid" my hair for bed. But instead of hair I use a silk scarf! I put my hair in a side pony, and slide the scarf through and then tie the two ends together, and just Pull through, cross, pull through cross, until i get to the end.

I didn´t realize how much I missed Anna Laura. Nice to see you again. And as always - love you Kayley Melissa
Anna Laura's entrance to the video was absolutely fab haha :D I love your sister-collabs!
Nice! Double happiness. Both hacks are amazing. Imma saving this to my bookmarks.
Kayley’s bow after the secure ponytail on Anna is awesome!
Me: *heating my roots and letting them sit on rollers for the duration of the video because I had to try it*
YAY!!! Love that Anna Laura is is back for Tik Tok hair hacks!!
I finally got the bun with Kayley’s instructions and it still took me 15 tries, but it’s cute, and it works and then I just set a scrunchie over it and it’s cute

I'm so excited to see Ana Laura! You two together make my day!
That snap windmill at 13:45 is perfect. I love the energy in videos where you guys are together :)
Thank you for explaining the messy bun tutorial 😄
The "UGHHHHH" While hanging your head upside down in hair-tie handcuffs...i felt that in my soul!
Petition to bring back the Instagram Braid Challenge!!
Saved this video so I can reference all the time. Thank you ladies
Yay! I love your hack videos and your videos with Anna Laura so this is awesome 😁 Love your vids Kayley!
5:43 is some super-sister-sass. I freaking love it!
I tried that bun maybe a few times and I was done. No thanks lol I give you props for trying as much as you did. Lol it was awesome to see Anna Laura back!
These videos are always the best!! And welcome back AL🤍

I love Kayley so much!! I’ve missed this duo too!
Matt loves hair is a fav
You both are absolutely gorgeous!!
Has anyone else seen the batiste dry shampoo set on fire? 😅 that’s all I can think then she adds heat to the dry shampoo 🤯🤯😅😅😅😅🔥🔥🔥 plz don’t fry your pretty hair off! Haha
I was really missing Al's face in videos so I had to go back to a fave. Also needed that dry shampoo velcro curler hack.
Why am I just now finding you two? 😂 You two are adorable.
AnnaLaura's hair after the airwrap... oh wow! So pretty hair!!!
Can you do a video about how to take care of curly hair?
The first hack with the dry shampoo. I don’t think it worked out for long but the hack with the Airwrap and the pins. Amazing 🤩. I will try this. Just need the pins or the clips.
VIDEO IDEA ! MESSY BUN TRYOUTS - please do a video testing all of laineymariebeauty's messy buns variations. Thank you! Great video guys, very fun to watch!
OMG i had so much trouble trying to do that messy bun from tiktok. I’m glad I’m not alone. 😂
I saw the messy bun hack and I had the same struggles. Just ended up typing my hair in so many knots.
Love that you considered people with limitations (carpal tunnel, arthritis, etc.) in the faux braid review!
Anna : I have fomo!
* me everytime I watch these videos lol * ❤
The dedication to the bun was real ladies 😂😂
Love y’all’s energy!!! Gorgeous ladies!
That bun hack is what I've always done but I have uber curly hair so I think the texture helps hold it.
Omg stop my childhood, last time I saw one of your videos you had long hair 🥺🥺 you look beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
I think the answer with the ponytail hack for Annalaura is to sacrifice her part haha. The TikTok looked like she had all her hair combed fully back instead of keeping it parted. If you keep it parted, the flip through will always shift the hair weirdly.
YAY FOR AL!!!!!! I was just thinking today if she’d ever be back for another video!!!!
I do the twisting bun, but I pull forwards, that hand movement is easier.
I got the bun! Took me about 8 attempts too! ... you guys were twisting the wrong direction (go under towards your face instead of back and over the top). I love it! Not too tight but super secure
Knowing how Anna Laura is about things getting stuck in her hair, I'm actually surprised that they kept trying to get it so many times.
I’ve figured out the bunhack - what I saw you guys do is switch up between flipping one way and then the other - I think that’s what messed you up…
What I do is that instead of grabbing a loop with my thumb and index finger at the bottom, I stick my fingers through the bottom bit, making sure that my little finger and thumb are on the outside of what’s essentially a ponytail…
I make sure the ponytail holder I’m using is a little loose and worn ( preferably fabric covered ‘phone cord’ pony holders) - new ones are too tight to do the flip…
The holder is on the wrist that’s grabbing the bottom… with the other hand I pull the ponytail holder over top of the hand…
Then I stick my hand through, holding my palm towards the mirror, I then slide my thumb by my ear, towards the back of my head and flip the pony over twice ( the second pass is always harder)…
Then I grab the hair the other hand was holding, and with the now loose hand I pull over the pony holder.. pull apart, arrange and pin in place…
To remove it’s easiest to remove all pins, lift the bun and grab the part of the pony holder that’s closest to the scalp ( that’s the part you pulled over when you made it)…
That way the pony holder won’t get tangled in the hair, because you remove it in the same steps as you put it in….
Anna Laura is hair goals!!! I have thick hair but I feel like my hair cut or hairstyles never look as nice as hers. I just want her haircut!! 😭
Keep practicing with the messy bun, I finally got it and now I can do it no problem!
I have super short hair but I still love watching your vids. You and your sis are so entertaining and upbeat. I love it.
Anna Laura's blowout look was soooo beautiful I wish I had straight hair to do it but my hair would have to go through hell in order to look like that
So happy I found this channel. Love you both. ❤️
This was fun to watch and I enjoyed it. The only problem with the updos is getting in and out of the car with it remaining intact! It’s hard. But it’s hot in the summertime and I’ll continue to use updos. Bayeee! 😄💜
I feel much better about myself now that I've seen you struggle with the "easy" messy bun, I've tried it so many times and it has never turned out.
oh my goodness yes i love the first two hacks Kaylee and AnnaLaura 💕😘
- Are you cool?
- I'm cool, whatchu mean?!
I love all your videos, don't get me wrong, but the sisters videos are my favourite, foreveeer !
Love you girls' dynamics !
I love both of your dynamic doing these tik tok hairstyles 🤩🥰😄 also.. I may or may not laughed a little for the left up corner saying attemp over 1 million or something 🤣😂
I wanna see an update on Anna Laura s curly hair 😃😃
Yay Anna Laura! Missed her in your videos! Love the sister dynamic!
As a hair stylist, it’s always funny to do my own hair. You get so used to doing everyone else’s hair. ,
lol that’s the way i always do my bun and i never saw it on tiktok 😂 it usually works but idk
I think it's nice and convenient for curly hair.
I was just thinking how long is been since I've seen Anna Laura and I was missing the sister vibe! Great video! I will be watching several times to try to get that bun!
y’all are hella cute with awesome personalities lol😭👏🏽
I would love to have both a camera from the front as well as one in the back when you're trying these styles! I just stood in the mirror for 20 minutes trying to do that bun..
the dyson hack is gold
That clip hack has me actually leaning towards an air wrap now ngl
Oh NM she's $$$$ 😬
Fun to watch you two. Enjoyed.
I love you both sm!! Love this series, can you bring back the hardest braids on the internet videos!! Loved them!!🥰 but instead of Instagram do TikTok
Seconding the Klorane Dry Shampoo non-aerosol powder. It works so well and one bottle lasts so much longer than the spray version
Lisa, my hair dresser said to spray it on freshly washed/styled hair. I have fine thin hair and always had the same issue you have. The trick to the bun is to keep your thumb out of the pony tail that way your wrist can turn! I seriously took days figuring that stupid bun out just to hate how big it was on my head😂
