I have a Hot Springs Jetsetter that is leaking and has that horrible foam and was quoted $2,500 for a service call. I am now looking at Arctic Spa's...what is your opinion of those?
When open-cell foam is saturated with water, it also loses it's R-value. It takes time for that foam to dry properly. Do you stand up the hot tub and let it dry for weeks before putting it back out in the field?
do you have a specific open-cell foam you recommend? I'm trying to repair my BullFrog - I'm not happy with my local dealers, so I've decided it's a better use of my time and money to fix this myself (even though it is under warranty).
So many great tips, thanks so much. I was always concerned about the spray on stuff and you clarified it for me! Any improvements in quality and pricing in 2023? Loved your 2022 update.
i have a 2009 sundance with the very soft open cell foam. I had to dig a bunch and am looking to find the same foam to respray. Is this stuff available to the public anywhere and what would be the right foam to use?
dealers will order you refill kits from thier suppliers usually, if its a small area just use the highest expansion caned HD foam from home depot if its a larger area fill it will fiberglass pink.
I appreciate your videos! Keep up the good job! I have a CoastSpa hot tub with very light foam like the one you showed in the video. I had to dig in many places to fix a leak resulting to a large area to spray again. Do you mind to let me know a brand of foam to buy and from where I can get it ? (Im in Canada but it is OK if I will need to import from US or I may find equivalent here)? Ideally if you can share a link it will be much helpful and appreciated! Thank you in advance 😊
hard to say, it used to be one of our top brands, it was privately held which makes a big difference. now that they were acquired by a large equity investment company its going downhill, the bean counters are in charge and they no longer clamp the plumbing lines. its a big downgrade to the plumbing reliability score.
This is an interesting response. Artesian wasn't acquired by bean counters they were acquired by Marquis spas. The research, development and driving of the company are still the same. A very well respected brand. And we have been a dealer since before that happened. They have made changes and they do clamp the lines. For being non bias this seems like a very bias response and an uninformed response. Now I am not claiming they do everything perfectly but one of the things that seems to be missing in some if these videos are the region the spa is being used in. Weather and environment do play a factor in the proper brand and build of the spa. And yes we carry more than one brand and I have worked for a manufacturing company in the past.
who knows, they were full foam then we saw one with blown in insulation and a client reported the dealer saying they are not sure how they are coming. They are the same group as Jacuzzi and we saw them using cheap low R value radiant barrier!!! these guys are all over the place right now. we even saw a jacuzzi with a cheap steel frame on a new 300 series!
can you get back to me with how much I should pay in canadian dollars before tax for a twiglight 7.2. I just want to know I am in the right price range so I dont overpay.
Bullfrog X series is good, its solid and good value ofr the money, the Pods are gimmicky, loads of down side to solve the leak issue from jet housing to shell interface. But now with compression fit jet housings its no advantage and there are loads of downsides from flow rates to limited coverage for your jets they tend to have lower end neck, shoulder and foot and leg jets as well.
I have an A8 and love it, but regret that my local dealerships are hard to work with and claim things aren't under warranty. There are so many good things about this tub otherwise.
Hey Chris, thanks for another great video. I have a Master Spa Michael Phelps which is full Icynene foam. Just wondering if this stuff is available to the Joe public to buy in cans in the unlikely event you do get a leak ??
Can you please list the exact foam product I need to buy?
What type of foam do you recommend if you have to replace the foam yourself?
Man...I'm learning a lot watching these videos. Thank you guys.
Our pleasure!
Where do I find the foam your suggesting?

Where can I get some open cell, low density foam for my hot tub. I’d like to add some insulation.
What name great foam to spray back in tub for repair.
Looking for the most energy efficient tub, no bigger then 4 person.
Wisconsin winters
What brand do you recommend?
Thanks

What is your opinion on the artesian iris spa?

@@kevinkern3649both of them are made out of the same factory now in Las Vegas. No clamp, just dip glue and stab on non barbed fittings
What is Sundance Spas foam type?

Great content thanks for sharing! Currently looking at Artesian South Sea 748 BDX vs 860 BDX models. Any thoughts on these tubs?
Those are great spas, great brand, the Southwest series are a great value!

Sure can! You can order it from your dealer. but if your just replacing a small amount you can use regular old spa foam for windows and doors.
