We've just started doing international backgammon tourism going to France and Istanbul. It's so nice to have instant friends everywhere you go thanks to backgammon!

Hey Michael! So cool and that's such a great point! We're really looking forward to heading overseas as well. In time. 😀 Out of curiosity, how popular are chouettes in France and Istanbul?

@@blunderblots honestly, it's a little difficult. I think culturally the heavier emphasis is on the mind-sport and what they may perceive as gambling is looked down on. Which is too bad given how excellent a learning and development tool it can be.

@@mmesich Interesting! I can see why that would be. I loved our chouette, as did Bri. It really is such an incredible way to learn and improve at backgammon! 😁

@@blunderblots The international trips are great. I’ve played small stakes in Germany, Japan, and another dozen countries as well as high stakes games. The adventure is as fun as the BG and action. You’ll make friends all over the world. Great video as usual 😍😍

In part you two have inspired me to study the game more seriously and to go to the Madison tournament. I had entered in the novice division next month. Played backgammon with a friend today and we are interested in getting a local club going as well. As you say a good way to build some social connections as well as having some fun. I plan to bring water and snacks to eat while playing for sure.

That's so awesome to hear! Thanks for sharing! We will be in Madison, so please say hello!
Yes, definitely need all the snacks! Cheers!

Hello and thank you so much for the kind words! Yes! Glad you’re back to Backgammon. Such an enjoyable game. I always have to have a board with me haha.
The videos are A LOT of fun to make! I’m glad you’re enjoying them. I’ve got several in the works right now that logistically are taking a little longer, but stay tuned! Cheers! 😃

Your video creation skills are already the best in bg!
I think you should do what others have failed to do so far, and that's bring the interesting players to life. Some interviews with players where we can get to know who they are would be very cool I think!
We have enough videos by strong players about which move to make, now we need some videos about strong players themselves.

Hello! First off, thank you for the kind words, that means a lot! 😃
Second, I love this idea. My wife and I have been going back and forth on a few ideas that are pretty much exactly what you're saying here. We're just trying to figure out the logistics of it because we want to do it right. Out of curiosity if you could choose players to learn more about, who would they be? I'd love to make a list to work towards.
Thanks for stopping by and for the feedback. Cheers! 😃

My problem is really bad social anxiety. It gets better if there's something I need to concentrate on and the situation is structured somehow, like when playing a boardgame or working in a group. But it's the non-structured situations where you need to have a little chit chat and maybe eat lunch together - those are torture. Maybe it would be different in a backgammon tournament, since you're all there because of the same thing.

With just a little engagement, these event will start to feel more like family reunions than anonymous events.

Hey Jim! I can 100% relate to this, especially with all the isolation that happened over the past few years. Having my camera ready to take photos/videos really helps me with that, so I completely understand the need to concentrate on something. I'd give it a try if you haven't, as conversation flows easier (in my opinion) at backgammon tournaments for the reason you stated. Everyone's there for the same reason. Thanks for stopping by, Jim! Cheers! 😃

A little over a week I'd say. I'm working on several right now (one of them being a bit different than I've done so far) and logistically they're taking a little longer than expected. I'm getting eager to get them out as well. It's been too long since my last upload, haha. Cheers! 😀
