    The "Dave Schultze" offset trick is awesome! Well worth the price of admission.

    This reminds me of a ski goggles project I had back when Rhino 5 was all the rage. It was a total nightmare, with the glass and isolation consisting of seven layers, on which all else was based on. Like creating a mix of a pumpkin carving on an onion, built from the outside. Saving this video to watch later- thanks for the lecture!

      @@Rhinoceros3d i got an idea how about making a mold of something you already made? maybe the small spaceship from your render Guide you can add some more mechanical parts like pins and pushers but still show of nurbs on casting sprouts

    Awesome video, I'm learning Rhino 7 after inventor/fusion360/geomagic wrap. Would you be able to do a video doing a Motocross style front mudguard? Preferably with NURBS?? That would be amazing. Also, I'm struggling to figure out CPlanes compared to the other bits of software, is there a way of creating an offset plane like you would in fusion/inv?? Thanks!!

    • @Rhinoceros3d
      @Rhinoceros3d  Рік тому +1

      Do you have reference for the mudguard? Make a post on discourse.mcneel.com and I’ll see if I can work something up.
      There is a whole cplane toolbox you can make and name costume cplanes. Type cplane in the command line and hit f1 for help in that or any other tool in rhino.

      @@Rhinoceros3d I've posted a link on the discord to a product but can't find side/front projections. I'm not looking for mm perfect only I think the workflow would be a great help in getting me to move over to Rhino for my surface modelling problems.
      I'll have a look at CPlane help tomorrow, thanks for that. I've watched a few video tutorials but haven't seen this done in a similar method to Autodesk so I'm wondering if just maybe my workflow is a little janky. Though if I were to loft a profile across 3 or 4 planes at set distances I can't currently figure out how to set those planes at distances. Simple I know but when you've been using one method for nearly 10 years, changing to software with so many buttons is a bit daunting!!

    • @Rhinoceros3d
      @Rhinoceros3d  Рік тому +1

      @@motopsycho87 you don’t need cplanes for that, you can just place your curves in xyz space using gumball.
      I’ll take a peek at your reference and see what I can do!

    Hey Kyle. Wondering if you could show how to develop a product with fabrication methods like bends, welds, bolts etc... from design to blueprints and digital files to cnc machines like laser cutting, 3d printing, automatic bending or rolling... Sometimes it's difficult to navigate between a design for visualization and ideation, and the developed surfaces or nested parts to make fabrication blueprints with less visual enhancers like fillets but with a lot of annotations and guidelines for who is going to build and assembly the product.
    Thanks a lot for your work
    Really a fan here ;)

      Open to ideas -have a design in mind?

    • @betomvass
      @betomvass 2 роки тому +1

      @@Rhinoceros3d Well, there are plenty ideas that come to mind. One thing I've been planning on trying is develop an sculpture of a low poly animal, let's say a dog, and produce it with sheet metal laser cutting. All parts would need to be numbered, properly nested on a sheet and than soldered with some kind of instructional guides. Some guide for you to visualize is too Google (low poly dog sheet metal). Another ideas could be some furniture sets also made out of sheet metal parts that could include not only welding but bending some parts to reduce the welds needed etc... Hope you find this kind of topics interesting to do some videos about. I've seen a lot of architecture, wood, industrial design appliances, but for the mechanical and artistic metal working community it lacks information. BTW thanks for the openness. Be well.

    I would make everything with the help of Symmetry and Reflect. 35-45 I would use OffsetCrvOnSrf after Project. 42:42 Kyle uses Point Osnap to align the control points. (Vertex Osnap would also work.)
