South Carolina's Senate loses key Republican women, debates future of women's issues

  • CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Changes are coming to South Carolina's General Assembly after June's primary elections.
    The only three republican women in the South Carolina Senate were voted out of their seats.
    A vote that the sister senators saw coming.
    "Republicans are now saying that abortion was just one of many issues," said Sen. Mia McLeod. "That's the reason. It was their primary issue. Literally - and figuratively - and that is why my sister senators were not reelected."
