I tried a 5K on pebbles (Seaton parkrun, Christmas Day)

- Word had reached me of a 5K run that began and finished in dramatic style on the beach pebbles at Seaton, Devon, England. I found myself in the area on Christmas Day and so went down to check out Seaton parkrun and its quite different surface.

What an ending 🤣🤣🤣
Quite the experience to finish it off
The editing and commentary on these videos are absolutely amazing
🧡
Fills the heart with joy and happiness, another Jog On masterpiece. Amazing quality it has to be said.
Here here.
Thanks Orange Goblin and Becky
Okay I need to sort myself out and get myself to a parkrun. P.s. this thumbnail is everything
I very much appreciate the noticing of the thumbnail
Underrated video, editing was pretty good honestly
Appreciate it PuzzLEGO, keep up your own great work and thank you for the comment.
All the best,
Harry
@@thisisjogon Keep up the good work! You’re certainly no Kipchoge out there, yet I keep finding myself watching your videos lately. There’s something to be said about your exceptional story telling and video making. I live in the US. Never even heard of park runs despite being a big athletics fan for a decade. The concept is a little weird to me, but it seems like y’all really have fun with it every week. Over here we just have independent road race 5ks scattered around, but I love the idea and park runs sound more simple/easy for a beginner to get interested in running.
Wonderful! You have a cracking way of presenting parkrun Harry, superb job as always and superb running from you both - Louise was on FIRE! That Flurry chap is something else though, eh!?
Flurry can fly it has to be said, I hope you're well Mike
Great video Harry. Really shows the fun of getting out there and running or walking or just spectating!! We ran Mile End Park in East London last weekend. We're really enjoying ParkRun tourism. Cheers 👍
Great stuff Paul, I hope it was enjoyable
Thank you for the video Harry 🧡 that looked amazing fun.
Parkrun really is special.
Thank you Dave
You are the best tonic Harry Morgan, dont need the gin !!! Brilliant uplifting video, thanks
Thank you for the comment and watching my work Jen
hidden Gems Seaton and Beer lovely part of the country and still so unspoilt
Absolutely Joe, a highlight of South Devon
@@thisisjogon and a great video lots of life and energy
whether it's you in the pumpkin costume, louise in her pyjamas, really nothing stops you guys from running so well every time 🔥
Says the man who ran lengths of his garden! I’m in good company.
Cheers Oli
Fantastic! How can you make a fiendishly difficult run and a freezing cold dip in the sea look like fun???? Great video!
Daisy, it was so cold
So great to see you at my local parkrun! Didn't get chance to chat on the day!
I think i can speak for many of us when i say we have a love/hate relationship with those pebbles! 😂
Thanks Beth - it was a superb morning and start to Christmas Day, see you on a start line someday
Makes me 🥶🥶🥶just watching you jump in the sea.
Oh it was horrendous Stephen, so cold
I wondered who was running in front of me whilst having enough energy to talk to his Camara stick thing (I was wearing the white t shirt with the orange stripe)
Great video! Subscribed 👍🏻
Thank you James, and great to run the same parkrun as you on Christmas Day.
All the best,
Harry
Great video brings back some fun memory's running on the pebbles in the Grizzly down there
Absolutely James, I hope to take it on next year
this is amazing i love this so much. BUT NO THANKS TO RUNNING IN THE SEA
Ha Bradley, it was absolutely freezing, took your breath away
At 6:43 I’m running just behind the reindeer. It was my 25th parkrun
Great stuff Amy - what a Christmas run it was and thanks for watching!
Hilarious video Harry! Well done to you both! Never run on pebbles it must be very hard 😱
Thanks Priscilla - it was tough indeed
Another fantastic video, your commentaries do make me chuckle. Loving the Doppelgangers first Ed Sheeran at Alton Towers and now the Seaton Harry Potter 🤣🤣🤣 Superb effort from GB Louise, the Female record at the Southwick Country parkrun is Olivia WALWYN - 17:27 - Event 64 (17 Nov 2012) ... just saying 😉
Thank you head of Team Sawyer
Great video, I was there myself that day visiting Seaton. You really captured what a fun event it was.
Excellent James, great to share the course with you, different from any parkrun I'd run before. Thanks for watching and commenting
Another superb video Harry.
Cheers Mr Usher
My new favourite channel 😂 commentary cracks me up 😂
Very kind, welcome and thank you.
Thanks Harry 👍🏃🏻♂️ Captures so much fun 😂
Cheers Michael, hoping you're well
Hi I have been watching your videos a while now and am really enjoy them lots of good tips for running
Hi Stuart thank you it’s appreciated, and welcome
thanks for visiting us at Seaton East Devon - great to see so many familiar faces
Cheers David, thank you for a unique parkrun
Superb vid again. Keep up the great work!
Thank you
Well done Harry & Louise. So close to a CR and yet mad enough to run into the sea with Harry, epic stuff.
Froze up the legs nicely Alasdair, hope 2022 is going well for you
Wow Harry! I am sitting in my blanket with 9 degrees outside and this was the most hot run to watch 🍻
Ha, thank you - it was very cold running into the sea
Great run Harry - we did the Seaton parkrun a few years back during a storm, it's a very tough course! Impressed that you went in the sea afterwards too!
Thank you Barnaby, you'll find you make a brief appearance in the new video
Great stuff!
And, on Christmas Day, certainly not a challenge for the feint hearted. Thank you for keeping the swim scene mercifully brief.
Added to that, I think you may have provided a possible insight into the extinction of the dinosaurs -- if we can assume they had parkrun in the Jurassic period?
Oh I think so David, they just had terrible barcode scanning abilities
What a great Parkrun!
Absolutely, cheers Tony
Man running with a turkey on his head and dinosaurs being followed by an elf....don't hear that everyday!🤣 These videos are hilarious. Well done again Harry.
Ha Gary, love it - thank you
Great Video and content as always and nice to see you as well 👍😊
Thank you and you!
Christmas Harry Potter... I was in tears of laughter
Haha, never seen him since, what a legend
Brilliant, love the idea of a sploosh in the sea afterwards!
Thank you for watching
Must be one of the most dramatic video intros to a Parkrun EVER! Wonderful sub-plots throughout, and brought home the pain of the pebbles! Fantastic video
Cheers Tom, the pebbles did indeed bring the pain
The female course record holder is my niece. She's only 15. I only learnt this recently. I'm so impressed xx
Adrian, what an absolutely excellent runner she is. Unbelievably good.
Thank you for watching
This guy makes great videos
Very kind of you to say, thank you
Thanks Harry and the JOG ON team, a truly inspirational and fun video.
Thank you Tony
Harry never seems tired when congratulating others and talking it always baffles me.
Great surname Arthur
I know, it seems that way, but I’m literally dying I’m working so hard, the videos never communicate it very well
What's your barcode number by the way?
llll ll ll lllll ll lllll
Perhaps you'd consider a future visit to Hafan Pwllheli parkrun? It's an out and back all on the beach, with ever changing course conditions, you can never tell if you'll get firm sand or soft sand or patches of both; surface of sand sand, shingle, seaweed strandline, pebbles or jellyfish to dodge; even wet feet with a misjudged wave!
As an example of just how challenging it can be: back in March -with the run on soft sand at high tide and a strong headwind on one leg - the first place finisher came in at 27mins! This runner generally posts 20min or sub 20min parkruns elsewhere! Definitely one of the more challenging parkruns, and another popular with swimmers 🏊🏃
Love this suggestion, will check it out
Stowmarket ParkRun has a grass, concrete, sand, mud & gravel course which I found difficult to adjust to. One surface only is ideal.
Adjusting to various surfaces is quite an experience
that looks like so much fun! great video again Harry!
It was quite a morning Sebastian
Fantastic video!
🧡
omggggg. this reminds me of when i ran my 28th marathon at new forest last autumn. i'd run a few off road half marathons before, but nothing prepared me for the rough terrain underfoot. i've never been in so much pain in my feet!
Love that, thanks you
The sea!!!!! You’re insane 🤣🤣 Great effort on a tough course 💪💪
🏃♂️
Great work mate. I have run on that beach at the start of The Grizzly. It’s a beast . Looks like you had a great time dude
Looking forward to taking on the Grizzly in the future
@@thisisjogon it’s a mean run buddy ! I can still smell the wild Garlic
Hilarious Harry😁😁
You should also get into stand-up. Just a great video.
Well done young man.
Cheers Paul
Shingle!
A lot of it
Chrismas style Harry Potter,hahaha
Glad you enjoyed that Martin
Not done that one. Should really as I'm in Devon - but it looks brutal!!
It was a bit
Pebbles is a killer 🏃♂️
It really is
Great video
Thank you Mike
What a great video. The sea ending was fantastic 😊😊
Amazing course
Amazing .I love how supportive you and parkrun are
Hope you’re well Bronagh
Doing this tomorrow... looks like it should be fun!
Enjoy it Nathan
Another great video my man 💪
Appreciate it Sonny
This is my local park run, and was very hard to so as my first one
🔥
Seaton also has the Grizzly run, which is an all terrain marathon
Yes indeed
What Great fun.. awesome Harry
Thank you Becci, it was a memorable start to Christmas Day
Lovely surreal parkrun there and super running from GB Louise!
Very surreal Max!
See, I called you Max here as well Ben
@@thisisjogon 😂
💚
💚
Dont fancy that parkrun , very tight 😂
It really was at points Paul!
Is it harder than Great Yarmouth parkrun
Good question - no, nothing like.
👌👌👌
cheers
This is the most hilarious video I've ever watched!!! And the most trilled too, as I want Ms louise to win in the end with christmas pajamas against the competitive "uncostume girl". Well done Ms Louise you are my idol!!! Super elite!! Hahaha harry potter!!! OMG thats so funny.
I feel Ms. Present!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha the dinosaur's situation hhahahaha
Glad you enjoyed it
