Hey good video. Thanks for posting it. Some friends convinced me to sign up for one in December. And I bought ticket and registered without knowing what it is at all. So thanks for the heads up. Probably should up my cardio a little bit in the next few weeks lol
Thanks for checking out the video. Have fun with your race. Cardio and grip strength go a long way in a race like this, so definitely get some runs in and find a way to practice hanging from a chin up bar. Don’t overthink it though. I felt like my first race was really a live practice run, since I’ve never done most of the obstacles before and didn’t really have a way to try them out ahead of time.
I’m pretty sure you would have been able to handle it. Cardio was such a big piece of the event with all the stairs. Your trail running legs would have made it look easy.
That looked like fun but very challenging and what better place to do it than in Fenway Park. Awesome! I finally used the gift certificate you gave me and got a custom food bag from Hilltop packs. I used a picture I had taken of Mt Katahdin with my UA-cam channel logo imbedded into it. We'll see how it comes out. Thanks Roots!
This was a bit of a challenge for sure. I did a combination of a chest mount for the GoPro and a mini tripod (pedco ultra pod) that I could set up on the floor for some of the two handed obstacles. I also asked my brother to hold it and record me for things like the rings, monkey bars and the rope.
@@JoeTakagi00 Sorry, I missed this question. For the stadion races you usually want regular running shoes without cleats. For the races that are on more natural terrain, trail running shoes with traction are best.
@@rootsontrail thank you very much for the response. I have one more question please. At the Fenway one tomorrow, what should I do with my stuff like keys and phone? I'm sure I don't want keys stocking out while doing some of these obstacles. Is there a secure place to leave things?
No kidding. I heard that some of the other spartan races replaced burpees with running laps. We'll see if they do anything like that at Fenway this year.
man this looks like a ton of fun

Don't think I could handle that. But a real spartan challenge would have been listening to that music sped up for the entire competition! 😄

Awesome. I’m sure it will come out great. HTP makes some quality gear! Thanks for watching PTL.
I wanna record my first race what equipment did u use n if you using a selfie stick why do you do for the obstacles that require 2 hands

I figured as much I'm doing tough mudder next year n I wasn't sure how it would hold up
Going to this Saturday. I don't understand where you can run?
They have you run back and forth through the stands and up and down the stairs and ramps. You’re gonna have a blast.
@@rootsontrailwhat shoes should I wear? Cleats?
@@JoeTakagi00Idk how cleats would do on a mostly Cement course I ran it and am going to run it Saturday in sneakers and that works just fine.
