Hello. I was learning that Valtz in 4TH class of Music school in Accordion class. So it's my & my Father's Favorite composition. Sand when I'm playing that Valtz People Can't believe, That's Mexican Valtz. Everyone thinks, that is French. I have that Valtz on my iTunes Library on my Mac, & all Apple's Equipment, what I'm using. So all from me for now. Greetings from Poland.
México has always had excellent composers. You should try and know Manuel M Ponce with little Star and intermezzo; Felipe Villanueva with his waltzes: vals poético, amar nocturno and mano, many mexican ones such as: Dios nunca muere, Alejandra, Morir por tu amor, Club Verde, Julia, etc.
A mis 8 años conoci esa canción, yo estudiaba 2do.grado y muchas veces me quedaba en la ventana del salón de musica escuchando a la hermana Palmira tocandol en el piano del colegio en la hora del recreo.
YES! I was hoping to hear this today. I read that Mr. Rosas composed this piece while sitting by a stream and watching the water bubble and trickle as it went “over the waves”. I can’t imagine how one would compose such beautiful music without sitting in front of a musical instrument, but this is as I understand how this piece was composed. WOW!
I heard many stories of what made him write it. One of them is that he wrote it for a certain girl. As his short life (24) and music is not well documented (his biography is in print) we are not certain.
Hi! Thanks for playing this song! The compositor of this song was born in an small town called Santa Cruz de Galeana in the Mexican state of Guanajuato! He became a famous violinist and piano player, unfortunately he was also an alcoholic reason why he died!! Not long after he died they change the name of the town to “ Santa Cruz de Juventino Rosas” in his honor. I was also born in “Juventino Rosas” so this song hits hard, thanks again.
Hello Ming Terk, I have enjoyed several of the Valses Mexicanos tonite. They were all beautiful. Will ask for some of them later. In the meantime I am working on some of the other music which is a real challenge. Thank you so much. I pray that you will soon be presenting more piano music . Your friend, Kay 🌹
Obscura Piano Musica You will like Sao Paulo, certainly. I live in the city of Limeira, in the state of São Paulo. Good conference, good stay in Brazil.
Wow .. I was going through a box of old sheet music, left by my mother-in-law and moments ago came across this composition, yellowed with age, 7 pages long and printed in 1926. Thought I would serf the web to hear what it sounds like. Wha a pleasant surprise. I know this song as a melody, but had no idea of the composer or history. And now, to hear and see it played .. for me .. is a real treat. Thank so much for this video! :-)
+Susan Marshall Thank you Susan for the nice comment. This channel focuses mainly on piano music that was once popular but now forgotten or composers who have survived obscurity because of a single work but all the rest of their works have fallen into obscurity.
You're gonna be amazed with other extraordinary mexican composers: Felipe Villanueva: vals poético, amar (nocturno), Manuel M Ponce : estrellita e intermezzo; Ricardo Castro with Vals Capricho and many another ones such as: Alexandra, Recuerdo, Julia, Dios nunca muere, Club Verde, Mañana, etc.
I have been playing your video because I am in the process of learning how to play the Vals and studying often at home.I can wait until I can play it as good as you do it. :)

Wunderbar. Danke ein Akkordeonist
Excelente interpretación. Muy completa.
very nice... piano... always have a good sound of music soothing into my ears...
I did not expect to get that airy feeling of flow that a waltz has from the piano but you managed to achieve it perfectly!!!
Thank you so much for your comment. It is greatly appreciated.
