Had me sold when he said it’s waterproof 💴 I’ve been looking for a sold waterproof bag because my Orvis sling pack got soaked a few trips and it’s exhausting. And I was looking for a nice solid pack with a net holder(which is hard to find) Great sized pack but my only concern is the tippet holder or Velcro accessories. But Great review 👌 Update: Pack is big but not too big that feels like you’re carrying a boulder. But just like I mentioned, my concern or dislike is the Velcro tippet or accessories holder. If you’re walking through brush or trees it’s going to get caught(obviously) but I wish they made a different way to tie your tippet but oh well 👌
Agreed, I don't like the Velcro tippet attachment. They should have went with d rings to allow people to diversify attachments, or a tippet holder. Overall, solid bag.
@@rickiex yeah i sold it lol i didn’t like it because of the tippet holder. It rained one day and i totally forgot about the Velcro and it fell off. Solid pack but who makes a Velcro tippet/accessory holder?? Seems lazy to me. I think that’s the last Simms pack I’m ever going to buy because I also had the Tributary Sling Pack and even though the size is perfect, there’s almost no where to put a tippet. You can put one from fishpond in the black slot but if you use a net then your net will get in the way. I regret buying it honestly. I have an Orvis sling pack but i wanted something not too small so that’s why i chose those 2 Simms packs. But now i bought Fishpond Thunderhead sling pack and i like it so far. It’s more expensive but it’s worth it because its waterproof(submersible). But overall, i recommend Orvis or Fishpond packs over Simms.
Good review, but it would be helpful to see them fitted, so i think you should jump in your waders and wear the bag for us to see how it can be adjusted/fitted. My biggest concern buying is if the bag will be annoying when i am fishing and moving around
Hey JR, I'll see if I can squeeze that in for the future. Unfortunately, most of our wading is waist-level or deeper so we don't carry tons of hip packs in Northern Michigan.
Do you like your Summit Sling? They've been popular in our shop for years. There's no doubt they both share the "work bench" outer pocket but the Freestone is just slightly larger.
Just got mine today. Can’t wait for the weekend to take it out on a fishing trip

The fish whistle comment is highly underrated

Great review! Would really like to also see a review of the freestone hip pack as well.

Less time looking at the reviewer and MUCH more time looking at the product.
