Nice bag! While not exactly the same thing I switched from a vest to a Fish Pond shoulder bag almost 20 years ago. I've never looked back! Holds more than a vest and I can get it out of the way. I use it the same way as the featured bag- pushing it to my back while fishing. I must admit though, that net storage is a nice feature my bag lacks.
This is my idea of the perfect fishing pack. The older I get, the less I want to carry and I want to carry it on my back rather than my front. All I want is something light weight to hold a water bottle, something the munch on, a lightweight rain jacket, eccentual tools and a fly box. All with easy access, when I need it. This fits that bill perfectly.

Lol.... great videos... Bought 2 Reddington Rod Kits from you guys!! Excited to get on the water soon on next Yellowstone Vacay!!
The new Orvis sling pack was designed to sit on your left shoulder. The older models had the strap on the right shoulder. Now they have three sizes and colors to choose from. I have the older version that I use on larger streams and the new mini I use in higher elevations to reduce weight. This Simms product does in fact look like it will work perfectly for carry the basics. My only concern is the material that is used on where the pack is connected to your back. It looks like it will make you sweat more in that specific area. But all in all it looks to be a great pack. Also, Orvis only gives you the option to where you can hang your net on the guide sling pack. So this is the largest bonus between the two.
