I love how he talks about the typewriter. "You have to saddle a horse to ride it."
R.I.P. Sam Shepard.
Amazing man, so complex, and so prolific.
I can't forget the expression that the ink just flew away and landed on the paper.
*My Buddy: Patti Smith Remembers Sam Shepard.* The New Yorker online. A moving farewell to the only guy ever to win an Oscar and the Pulitzer Prize for Literature.
I have Sam's best plays collected by Methuen of London and his book of stories. I wish he had published more fiction.
I love this man. Whenever I sit down to write he’s not far away: the way I hear him; his books stacked at arm’s reach. R.I.P Sam
He told us alot about himself in this short time
I do wonder what this Mr Shepard chap is doing with that red Bic in that book of a play.
I just got a book of Sam Shepard's plays from Thriftbooks today. Thank you, Thriftbooks.
He really was something❤
I use the same type of typewriter just from a bit earlier. How cool.
Toby Taylor which one is it? It's beautiful.
It's a Hermes 3000 from the late 60s, Made in Switzerland
I have been using the same IBM wheelwriter for more than 20 years
I agree with him on computers not a fan of computers the worst thing that ever existed I think Typewriters’s is still the best thing ever invented I’m old school and if more people would get into typing and writing the old fashioned way they would be better off instead of the computer because the computer is making life harder to learn and write and just not really good for our brains to learn how to do things the correct way like I had to learn the old fashioned way of writing and learning to use your brain for thinking things on your own
Now the computers do everything for you and you never learn to use your mind and brain that is what is wrong with our society is we use the typewriter it gives us the best way to learn how to think and write your thoughts by typing it out and gives you the skills to work with
He’s in bloodline on netflix.excellent show
I would love too get a copy of this US documentary on DVD, butt that is a little difficult for a us Britons.
