You should also winter-ready the Tundra. Man! I'm glad your addressing the issues of keeping these cool and on they're way to becoming classics alive! The rust is an issue that rarely becomes addressed! If you reside in the colder regions of the country, then you may how salts and snow can severly cause rust and eventually damage. Thank you for helping people be more aware of this preventive problem. 👍
I'm new to your channel so I apologize of you've answered this previously... Did you use Fluid Film prior to this video? Or was this the first time using it? I just got a new Tacoma from the West coast. I want to prevent rust as much as possible!
Homestead Mike these Tacomas have new frames about 2/3 yrs old and had not been treated previously. So im with you -prevention-It makes a huge difference. The way the product works makes it near impossible to deteriorate if used as directed. It is also important to shoot some inside the frame as well. Worth the time and is relatively inexpensive. Post up some info on your truck!
@@JLeeChron I live in Ohio and just got a 03 Tacoma shipped in from Northern California. It's a 03 TRD Off Road 4x4, Lunar Mist, 81000 original miles, single owner, timing belt and water pump was replaced at 80k. There is zero rust on it! I almost hate to use it haha.
I have a question for you, previous owner used rubberized undercoat on my 4Runner and it’s coming apart in a few spots. Could I use fluid film over the rubberized undercoating and would it seep thru? I was going to use the gallon size with paint sprayer.
Jay Moar not sure it would seep thru the coating, it will help with the spots peeling off, and is probably better than not applying it. The best route would be to attack it from the inside of the frame, messy and time consuming- they make a wand you can insert into frame openings/ drain holes. Especially towards back half of frame, hit it up in the drain holes
Prepping in my Tundra? I put a coat in the truck. All done.👏🏻😁
