They really meant quality audio. I was at this lot (the guy who keeps screaming stupid shit during the lot was drunk at the time and used to teach me) and it sounds just the same.
I definitely believe a good drum line also relies on amazing drums, not to trash on system blue drums but they have not done blue devils any justice, these Yamaha drums just bring out the best sound possible with this line
@@decafbountiwack3658 most people just believe they don't have the best sound because of the build materials. I don't know, they're still new to the market and Ludwig bought the drums, so we'll see how they change going forward
I was just thinking that. I mean most of this video is super clean. There are some barely fuzzy spots. But every single triplet roll they play, especially the fast low ones, are literally perfect. Some of the cleanest rolls I've probably ever heard.
Another cool thing about this line, consider that United Percussion (WGI) in the lot is really loud, now at 2:12 you could feel how heavy the quads must feel with those attacks, all that loudness and they are still clean as heck
Anyone else sees the connection of Mcnutt leaving the Cadets in 2015 and the fact that they’ve had ehh shows since? The Cadets 2015 finished 4th and the drum book pretty much elevated the show. In the 3 years McNutt has been in Boston he has elevated the corps to a contender. Of course they have to sort out their other captions too
Alright so it’s kinda weird to explain but it’s more based on relaxing the fulcrum in the left hand and then letting the stick bounce after being hit by the other stick
trying to transcribe this... does anyone have any freakin clue what's going on at 3:58 and 4:02? I got some really weird shit written that approximately matches what they're playing, but if anyone has any ideas that'd be great. the fact that they turn the met off doesnt exactly help lol
Why does the entire upper battery look like a bunch of reskins of the same person But jokes aside this drum line is nasty in a good way. Especially bases
Off center to our right looks like he hates his life. There are many people that would kill to play drums under Colin and he’s standing there like he’s not even interested.
@@mariolucero7193 the good news is...he DIDN'T get fined! It All worked out in the end. Steve had fun and there was no fine at all. No need to worry ! 🦆
My mans is just relaxed that all ... gotta be comfortable if you’re gonna play such and intense book. They’ve been playing this for several months (yea i get it, rewrites and etc.) so it’s muscle memory for him.
This is bad to the bone rhythmically. Would really like to see these younger generations actually playing THROUGH the head and creating some thunder. But kudos.... there is some good stuff happening here.
Colin ALWAYS has great lines with chop busting beats. But please don't ever make them wear these costumes again. DCI has been getting very cringe with them lately. It's almost like they're mad at the performers and they want to embarrass them.
One of my favorite lines this year!
One of my favorite role models of all time.
🦆
Ikr, theyre wood clean
My top 5 lines from 2018:
1. SCV
2. Boston Crusaders
3. Bluecoats
4. Blue Devils
5. Cadets
Gavin Blackshear idk i think they were cleaner than vanguard
Colin Mcnutt really changed this drumline in the best way possible with his writing. Boston Crusaders are now one of the best drum lines in dci now.
I love how the entire corps went from 12th to 5th in just a few years
OMG hi fletcher this is josh
And now they’re projected to get a Sanford this year :)
@@eagleeye4life681 they got robbed

That would be me lol
WOOO!!!!

MountainaForcefield _ “YEAH QUADS”*
Scott Snyder that guy is me I AM ALWAYS THAT GUY LOL
That snare next to center is the most chill snare drummer I've ever seen
This book is insane and they executed it extremely well....I’m shook
I’m old. Marched in the ‘80’s but this line right here! Top 3 for me of all time. These cats are the BUSINESS!!!!!!!
They all look like dads
Jacob Rhees xD
Hi Jake :)
This will put you in the top 3 drumlines for sure. Clean triplet rolls
2:38 for the chunk from the elementary school warmup video
this guys gets it
@@m_stu I indeed do

I definitely believe a good drum line also relies on amazing drums, not to trash on system blue drums but they have not done blue devils any justice, these Yamaha drums just bring out the best sound possible with this line
I think yamahas have the best sounding drunkline instruments
An honest question: why does everyone seem to hate System Blue? My director makes fun of them sometimes, but have not figured out why.

I’m in love with this writing.
Is it just me or do their triplet rolls sound cleaner than literally anyone else?
MrPiklez yeah I don’t understand..

Amazing execution, control.. these guys blew me away this year.
This originally came up on autoplay but I ended up watching it like 5 times, sick beats played well
Boston Snares
SCV Tenors
Cadets Basses
Unstoppable
Cintora Music so basically the “holy line”, I like it
@@503music6 SCV's tenors are cleaner but nothing beats mcnutty's writing
Put this on aux or Bluetooth in your car and you won't regret

these guys killed that shit. One of the best books in DCI this year.
Tasty AF and McNutts!
Thanks for the upload!
So many chops in one place.
Sheesh...they’re good.
You never experience true ear bleeding until you've been to a Boston crusaders lot.
Amazing nonetheless
I would argue Crown ‘18 was the loudest I’ve ever heard.
It's amazing how drumline members can hear at all! But the loudness sometimes makes it more exhilarating to listen to
actually amazing splits at the beginning.
2:38 Anyone who came from Parker Meek’s videos will recognize this part.
that's just mcnutt. you hear it in everything he writes

the hype. was real.
great job writing, well executed. a slightly thicker snare sound might have helped sistinguish the voice with the toms. really nice
"Y'ALL KNOW WHAT THIS IS Y'ALL KNOW WHAT THIS IS" me @ my fellow band/dci nerd friends while watching this show

BBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Change my mind: crusaders 18 > crusaders 19
In every aspect, except maybe pit lol
To their quad drummers use the CM stick when they’re using sticks?
Michael Zens yes we do!
Wow from Cadets now to Boston. There is no stopping it.
So. Freaking. Clean. It's one thing for snare rimshots to be clean timing wise, but for them to sound THAT crisp? Next level stuff happening here.
The shot at 2:00 - 2:01 might be the cleanest rim shot I’ve heard in my life.
Is that Rhett from Good Mythical Morning?

Anyone know where to get music for the part that starts at 4:35
I have the quad sheets to the entire show and there is a guy on musescore who transcribed the entire drumline
Just learned the learn the music for their tenors. Why did so much of it get watered down? They were doing it well early season.
A lot of things I assume, consistency and sound tend to be the main issue. But who knows! Did really well regardless though imo
