- Time to revisit 11th Hour by Lamb of God, now with tabs and a better mix too!
After hearing praise from Mark on my original 11th Hour cover and others asking for tabs I have decided to re-record my 11th Hour cover and added in tabs. I went to town with the layers too with most of the song quad tracked and recorded the bass too rather than midi instruments.
There's quite a lot of things to watch out for on this track. I highly suggest learning it in section and slowly piecing it together. Everything from the speedy middle bridge will cause the most problems and muscle ache so if it straining your arm stop and take a break and build up the stamina over time.

After working on this track again for something else I realise there's a slight mistake. At 0:31 - bar 19 of the tab theres a slide between 5-7 and 7-8. It should be as follows
3/6 7h8 - 8
3/6 - 7 - 7 - 7
So a slide between 3rd fret and 6th fret instead of 5 and 7, an palm muted 7 then power chord on 7 with a hammer on on the A string to the 8. Hope that makes sense!

If you watch this at 0:48, the slide is from fret 3 to fret 7 on the 6th string, then the hammer-on on fret 8 on the 5th string.
Point being, the index/barring finger slides from fret 3 to the next fret (the contention here is 6 vs. straight to 7) only once. If it were 3->6->7, the barring finger would move once more after the slide (to go from fret 6 to fret 7), but it doesn't. After the slide, you only see the hammer-on (on the 5th string). Hence, the slide is 3->7

The riff at 0:32 doesnt invovle moving from 7 to 8 on the 6th string. Listen to the bass on the song very carefully. It only moves from 7 to 8 on the 5th string, to create a minor 6th-like tension between the 6th string and 5th string

2:45 is breaking my balls. Just like the riff on Hourglass it's like 30bpm too fast for me to keep up with. When doing 4 chugs on the open string its hard to hit the other strings then get back in time!

Question: Is the breakdown riff at: 2:41 a tritone?
It's a semi tone interval or a flat 2 / b2. It gives a really harsh dissonance. A tritone is 6 semitones or 3 tones so it would 8th fret on the 3rd string and 10th fret on the 2nd string

Where'd you get the drum track? A lot of LoG drum tracks are online but 11th hour is strangely missing? Anyway you could post it?
I use guitar pro, export the drum track as a midi, load it up in Logic pro and use Steven Slate Drums 4. I typically use ultimate guitar to find guitar pro files.

Even though LOG are mostly one string wonders, they got some bad ass riffs. Same for gorjira.
Agreed, the riffs in checkmate are pretty mad, haven't started to tackle it yet but saw the play through LoG posted and it looks pretty technical.
