Hostess is toast-ess, but thankfully we still have lovely miss Blyth. Always a charming, classy lady(even when pitching for chemically preserved junk foods).
Hostess isn't toast-ess any more. Twinkies and Ho-Ho's and other Hostess favorites are back in business as of March 2014. Only Wonder Bread is a memory.
"Nothing like feeding your upper middle class hostess junk food!" "Food of the gods!" "I see Ann Blyth finally succumbed to pies!" "Only took her 25 years!"
Actually back in the day, they were pretty fresh considering...they even had expiration dates. I remember when Hostess/Wonder Bread had a store where you could buy their products at a real cheap price prior to their expiration.
Interesting commercial. Sounds really upper crust. Hopefully Twinkie the Kid will ride again. He'll be pulling an old west wagon full of twinkies and other Hostess goodies again soon, with another bakery I guess.
Charlene on Designing Women brought me here.
Me too! Ha! 😊
Same. Haha
Yup!!! Lol
Designing Women (TV Series 1986-1993) prompted me here !! Thanks Charlene !!!
Celluloidkid me too, it’s 2020 and I had to come find these after Charlene’s story 🤣😂🤣😂
Me too
Queen of the Nile!!! She never ages...must be those Twinkies.
In Mildred Pierce her character hated pies and all that went with them.
I was thinking the exact same thing from Mildred Pierce. Ah the irony?
Apparantly Veda had her own side gig! Shh! Don't tell Mommie..she might get out the wire hanger😉
By the 1970's, they were paying the bills!
Thanks Charlene and Ann Blyth.. Two Classy Women ..🤩
Lordy, the Hostess cakes were so much bigger in the 1970's, but that's not surprising. In the second commercial here you can really see it.
"Like you, sometimes I say no to snack cakes!"

They tasted much better back then..not the dried out cake with sickly-sweet filling they are now.
Here from Designing Women!
That 60s kitchen of hers. Lawd I remember those.
I miss those crumb cakes!
"Weren't the fruit pies enough? Did you have to degrade us?"
"Nothing like feeding your upper middle class hostess junk food!" "Food of the gods!" "I see Ann Blyth finally succumbed to pies!" "Only took her 25 years!"
Hostess snack cakes "fresh?" That's a good one.

i don't think the cupcake buying public were all that impressed...
Charlene!!❤
Who cares about the cakes........gorgeous woman, Ann Blyth!
I'm Ann Blyth and like you, sometimes I say no to snack cake XD
She clearly doesn't know me! Lol
Yeah...until the Hollywood commercial contract says YES!!
*Carol Burnette Hostys* brought me here!!😄
ua-cam.com/video/RXosphF3f0E/v-deo.html at 1:40 *Hostys* 😄
But Charlene I can't find the phone commerical with the son
Weren't the pies enough?
Hostess cupcakes, Twinkies and...who are you calling a ho?
What exactly is a "Grown up taste?"
I loved those crumb cakes as a kid. I also saw the episode of DW with Charlene and I thought it was insulting to Ann Blyth.

you must be the cupcake buying public.......
I wonder if Ann Blythe kids are blimps now?
@@terencem8795 Oh hi Terence! Did your mom ever talk about Mildred Pierce?
No, because sometimes she said "No" to snack cakes ;)
