I hear ya. They do have pudding pies but they don't have the icing frosting. They're just plain glazed like the fruit pies but with chocolate pudding inside. Although I think they're made by Tastee Cake not Hostess.
I remember those and the fruit pies. While they tasted really good, they were also very unhealthy - just too much damn sugar. I actually didn't feel well at one point when I ate a little too many of them. I haven't had one in a while because of it.

never saw them with chocolate coating. must not have lasted long. chocolate pies are my favorite.
when these came out in the mid80s they all had chocolate coating. it wasn't until they brought them back did they lose the choclate coating.
