I just realized that I never really watched the anime and seeing how it looks they really ruined that manga art 😭😭 I shouldn't be surprised at this point but damn
Vampire knight needs a reboot the ending of the anime was invented due the manga was ongoing that's not how ridou ends . Kaname is the last villain kind of 😅 and there is a time skip 😮💨 wish they adapted full this time
I laughed when you said that you know many of your watchers are older than you and when you said a trip down memory lane I didn't expect the 17th century 😂
We were all lured into a false sense of security by the pretty art/aesthetic and vampire premise. By the time you wake up and realize what happened, it’s too lake. Nothing left to do but embrace the messy drama.
I remember binge watching this series in a weekend as a teenager and getting so depressed that Yuki didn't get with Zero that I didn't leave my bed for a day LOL
I watched it as a teenager too but hadn't seen anything about it in years. As soon zero came on screen I thought, yeah, that one was the one I liked lol
It is so much worse than you think. Rido kidnapped and sacrificed the real baby Kaname in order to awaken the 10000 year old Kaname And the reason why Yuki's uncle Rido wanted to kill her parents and Yuki is because her mother Juri was supposed to marry him but married his brother Haruka instead. Rido, Juri and Haruka are all full blood siblings
@@simpleton3781 I feel like the author was like, "they're vampires so it fine bc they don't follow human logic" and we were like "nah fam, that's uhh..."
I still have absolutely no idea what happened in this story but it was pure aesthetic dopamine for 12 year old me. I wanted my art to look like it so bad and I would’ve killed for one of the uniforms 😭
@leeahh747 Oh, shut up the heck up. Sometimes, love triangle with a female lead with two males characters freaking sucks I don't know why y'all will defend this kinda of garbage, and that's just sad to see heck even creator draw Zero and Kaname "one time" in the most BL way in volume number I don't remember. And yeah, the not wrong sometimes two male leads has better chemistry than the female lead cry about it. 😂.
Honestly Vampire knight manga had me depressed for 3 months. For those of you who want to see the life of Zero and Yuki I recommend you to watch Vampire knight +
My god I loved vampire knight but I had no clue what the hell was happening. I’m reading the new spin off manga or whatever and I still got no idea what’s happening
"Was this all style over substance?" In hindsight, mostly yes. I was totally wooed by the gorgeous art in the manga that I didn't even realize glaringly obvious plot holes in the first arc. Then the story/characterization absolutely went to shit after chapter 30 which is right around when Yuuki became a vampire. The story did a totally bizarre tone shift and the remaining 63 chapters seemed like an entirely different series. Zero was the only well-written character and even he couldn't save the story once Yuuki turned into a vampire. So no, this series did not age well at all. Also, Kaname is abusive as heck and gives me major pedobear vibes.
They weren't siblings,Kaname is actually a reincarnation of the founding father or progenitor of vampires 10,0000 years back, the brother of Yuki actually died on that day as a sacrifice for the founder to be reborn,Kaname just didn't know about it till his memories returned.
@@Milovely nah,not only that but Yuki still fell in love with kaname even though she thought that was her brother, and even worse kaname is apparently, safe to say,her grandfather and Yukis parents are siblings and not only that but Yuki soon had a baby with kaname and another with zero,it's pretty messed up
I’ve been wanting to rewatch this series as an adult without my rose-colored puberty glasses because I know it did not age well 😩 loved this in-depth look at vampire lore and media to illustrate how often vampire knight threw all historical references out of the window in favor drama and romance.
Yes, another Takuma appreciator! He's honestly the only character who is able to keep that mess of a cast together (e.g., he's doing most of Kaname's class president work for Christ's sake). I strongly agree with your point about the side characters. They seem shallow and act more like pawns (hinting at Kaname's chess board metaphor) that exist to move the plot forward rather than actual characters. Thanks for contributing to the Vampire Knight discussion! It's nice to see people rediscover VK and hear them talk about it more critically. Vampire Knight is probably my favorite story to love-hate, haha.
Kaname actually was given the sacrificed full brother Yuuri had. Like, Ridou got the fresh baby, went to the tomb of an ancestral vamp that had low key gone full mummified, and used said baby to wake this ancestor (Kaname) from slumber, thus also getting power over him. Obviously Yuuki's parents were less than thrilled about their latest kid getting sacrificed to an old ancestor, and I am forgetting shit but ehhh for a few years Kaname - the ancestor - pretended to be their kid (them knowing he wasn't) to make up for them having lost their actual son, determined to protect Yuuki for the whole mess. Yuuki apparently also looked like the reincarnation of his long lost lover who gave herself up to be made into the first (maybe?) hunter weapons - the main one being Artemis, the staff/scythe Yuuki will go on to use. Anyhow after very convuluted plans and stuff Kaname offed most of the purebloods and then gave his heart to become the new source of Hunter weapons and that is as much as I recall but tbh the whole thing with the "wait are we siblings or aren't we" did come from absolutely fucking left field and I hated Zero's whole "Omg I will protect you but let me casually assault you every chance I get" stick. I overall got very very tired of Hino's nonsense especially after a while, like I had been so into this series despite Yuuki being the Stupidest Dumbass Ever, and then it felt like it dragged and all of sudden??? Yuuki had gone and had a kid from Kaname AND one from Zero? And then her kid from Kaname wanted Zero? Just overall very wtf Hino just give up and say you didn't know what else to do
Okay you're not wrong to call this a fever dream because it took quite a while into the video for my brain to go "wait ... this seems really familiar ... oh shit I've watched this" XD
I loved Vampire Knight. I shipped Yuki/Zero in canon and Zero/Kaname in fandom. Kaname was my least favorite character, but I liked his interactions with Zero.
I still can't get over the *manga* scene of Zero feeding off Kaname. I did such a mess with _those_ toys over a yaoi ff I wrote over that scene... 💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦 That's how and why I realized yaoi was my *massive* guilty pleasure. Yaoi *_is_* my guilty pleasure!! I was like 18 or 19, okay?! I'm now a middle-aged millennial (35 next month) wife.
Vampire Knight was my first manga and anime, so it's still in my heart. I still have the art book, fan book and manga and I'll always cherish them even though Hino doesn't know wtf is going on in her own story. 😭
Okay, so I have good news, and bad news. Good news, in the manga Ruka and Akatsuki did end up together, even got married. Bad news, they're also cousins, so that's one more incest couple to the list of the many in this show.
Omg, I still remember the first time I watched Vampire Knight while in college and I was completely gagged at the plot😭😂 Congratulations on your move! Keep up the awesome work!🎉✨
Omg finale somebody talking about it that show was just too much for 4th grade me😭I remember looking for the manga in libraries and finding it online and being sooooo just WOW
The same author also wrote a series called Meru Peri and it has very pedophilic themes that I didn't realize were weird or taboo when I was 12 and found the manga in my middle school library.
I'm glad this video popped up in my recommended. This show was my LIFE as a teen. I cosplayed Yuki for an anime con when I was 14. I was obsessed. I still have the plushies, wall scroll, and jewelry merchandise from the show. It's lowkey still a guilty pleasure, and I rewatch it every year or so for the nostalgia. Of course, when I first discovered the show around 11-12, I didn't consider how alarming some of the themes of the show really are. Rewatching it as an adult is kinda cringe. It's definitely not a GREAT show, but I can't help but feel attached to it since it reminds me of when I was a pre-teen and was just getting into anime.
Honestly most vampire animes are either a guilty pleasure type thing or the most depressing show youve ever watched in a while (Vampire in the garden) I would also like to ask can we have a raise of hands of how many people found a vampire anime and had something awaken from deep within them because I did I just remember being so terrified about vampires as a kid tho, then i started watching anime and it did a 180
Not me at Age 14 thinking up an OC that was also Rido's son and making up a weird storyline I have largely forgotten other than it ended up with Rido and the OC being lovers^^ Maybe because Rido was the character I was most attracted to because he looked the oldest? I don't have much Problems with fictional incest and age gaps but that was really on the nose even for me^^
bro this was my shit when i was eleven, it was my first anime and i watched it in parts on youtube 😭 had me in a chokehold fr. the manga art is really gorgeous tho
The character and side character are so underdevelope... Even the main girl evolution is sooo frustrating. Plus incest like i know it s not really in the end but kinda is.... Such a promising story waisted. Hope yuki was more involved in her role and more efficient. Her badass moment Always endup underwhelming. AT least the song and ost are dope
the hold this anime had over teenage me 😭 i was literally feral for yuki and zero and it was the first time i had watched something and felt empty when it was over
I don’t know why this was randomly recommended to me, I think I only watched the first episode way back, but damn I remember how hard the art went… like I recall seeing so many Angsty art pieces getting spread around tumblr
I remember dropping the show when I was in 7th grade after a few episodes because I was too lazy and eventually finished it years later out of curiosity, I will say that Kanon Wakeshima still fucking slaps however
yes her songs are still the best, the first manga ended with depression knocking at my door,if you want the arc with zero and yuki together, and the child of both Kaname and second child being one of Zero ,you should read it.
This anime came out when I was a teenager and I went through a whole vampire knight phase (during my major twilight phase, of course). I remember absolutely loving zero and have no memories whatsoever of incest in the story. I wonder if I repressed the memory, or just didn't understand most of what was happening lol
This was the series I’d get on UA-cam to watch three parts of a single episode of. I’d eagerly search for any fan subs I could find before going to middle school.
When the Manga came out in my country, i got every single one of them as a young teen with the little money i had... Until the weird incest shit came and i just was so sorry for Zero at the time and noped out forever out of it. I tried the Anime... But by gosh the produktion quality and translation of the artstyle of the Manga just was too bad... Ps: Yuki is still the worst 🤣
Vampire Knight was my favorite manga and I have most of the Shojo Beats to prove it. Now hearing it again at 41, I'm like, what was I on? Lol but the op and endings slapped.
True! My favorites were both of the ending songs, I loved the season 1’s song so much i looked for the full version and listened to it over and over again.
30! Minutes! On this matter! Omg I'm simultaneously shoked and feeling blessed, can't wait to dive into this Edit: very good analysis, I was definitely surprised you didn't have like 20k followers But when u summarized the storyline did you just completely skip over the part where Spoiler Yuuki had been a vampire all along AND kanames sister I was rlly curious what u would have to say about that, it was mentioned in passing at the end but not as part of the storyline explanation which would really confuse ppl who haven't seen it ig Oh boi, I still remember me being 12 and reading yukis words of "he is my biological brother" and I was internally like "yesss now she has to drop that shitty kaname obsession and get with zero and they all cna be happily ever after" .... But hino-sensei just said: yeet that non-toxic relationship dynamic bs out the window haha.... I would loove to know what hino sensei actually thinks about her characters. Like did she write kanama as such a bitch intentionally bc she wanted to express how toxic his behavior is or whatever stuff was she on when writing the whole thing?
I think that Kaname's bitchiness is somewhat intentional and actually reads as a cautionary tale. Yes as I teen it all seems so romantic, but then when you continue into the manga you notice that Yuki is portrayed as very unhappy when she gets together with him. She is frustrated with many things he does and that pushes her to go against him in the end. There is legit chapter when he suddenly returns just to drink her blood and then disappears, and Yuki is very miserable from it, it legit reads as a rape scene. I guess she cant just brush off the fact that she was well...groomed... so she still harbours some feeling, but in the end Kaname does not get a good ending. Instead a more matured Zero does, instead Kaname has to face his selfishness and do something selfless for once. And the later interactions between Zero and Yuki as a pair are waay more wholesome and cutesy, they actually walk hand in hand. Or maybe Kaname wasnt intended as toxic from the get to, but then Hino reread the shit she draw and realised damn man this is crazy shit, Yuki deserves better.
@@exeVividNova Yuuki was NOT unhappy with Kaname. She loved him the most. She was burdened by guilt because she promised Zero that she was stay with him, and it was a promise she couldn't keep. Zero forced himself on Yuki. He took her blood without permission and be damn near rapes her before she gives in. Yuuki always loved Kaname he was her world. Everything that Kaname did, he did to protect Yuuki. And the only time he kept her "captive" was after she first awakened, because she was a danger to herself and others. But he set her free, and she came back to him. Zero was a fuckboy who put a gun to Yuuki's head, and his hatred of vampires, outweighed his love for Yuuki and he remains a fuckboy until the third to the last chapter. He verbally abuses Yuuki and threatend to kill her mulitple times. Kaname would never, and Zero emotionally blackmailed her into giving him blood and threatening to kill himself. And making her promise to kill her. It took a toll on her emotionally and she always felt guilty for loving Kaname. Her giving him blood hurt her, because she only wanted to give it to Kaname and she was ashamed of it. She didn't ever want Kaname to know she let Zero drink from her. Meanwhile Kaname was destroying any vampire or human that threatened Yuuki. He played the role of cold villain to protect her and even used people to protect her. He saved Zero so he would act as body guard and be there for her, when he eventually sacrificed himself to end the war, so Yuuki could be safe. He even understood her feelings for Zero because she loved Zero, she just wasn't in-love with him. "Kaname you're my world and you're everything in that world." "I belong to Kaname" and honestly no one got a good ending, because it was a tragedy. Matsuri Hino always said it's a tragedy. Kaname threw his heart into the furnace to create the weapons that ended the war. Yuuki mourned him for hundreds of years, while Zero's love for her was unrequited. She gives birth to Kaname's child and feeds on Zero's blood, but could never quench her thirst and took blood tablets, because he wasn't her true love. She then waits around to die, by giving Kaname her heart, and wiating for Aido to come up with a way. She gets with Zero, while waiting to die for Kaname, but won't sleep with him, until he forces himself on her, and she gives in. He dies shortly after. She has his child. Kaname's baby is named "AI" because he was her love, and Hino-sensei didn't even give the Zeki baby a name for most of the second story, but finally did, it's name is Ren. Yuuki gives Kaname her heart, to make him human, and take away his vampirism because he always felt cursed by it, and she lives on INSIDE of him. Kaname has no memories of Yuuki, but once in awhile senses her presence and travels with his daughter, and Zero's kid. Kaname is happy but it's bittersweet. Ai loved Zero, Zero loved Yuuki, Yuuki forever loved Kaname, and Ren loves Ai, who loved Zero. Nobody ever truly got to be with the one they loved. The only beautiful part is Kaname and Yuuki are together, because he has her heart, after giving up his heart for hers and Yuuki lives on inside of him.
Yuuki and Kaname are NOT siblings. He's her ancestor, the first Kuran. But he isn't her brother. Her brother was sacrificed by Rido, to awaken Kaname and Kaname took his body. But they aren't siblings.
@@malikasowers6267 this is not true because it was stated outright by Kaname that Yuki never smiled from her heart when she was with him. And this true that she completely loses her luster when she is with him. She smiled plenty with Zero. When Zero got to be with Yuki he was over his shit, it was designed so that he needed to grow as a person before he can be with her. At this point this wasnt forceful. It may not have been this passionate love, but it is sprinkled around the story that vampirism is an allegory for destructive obsessive love. Such thing cannot make one happy and there is a need to get over it for all characters or its a downward spiral for them. Yuki clearly was tired of living and I dont see any particular significance in the fact that she decided to make use of it by giving her to life to help somebody who hold a meaning to her. I never stated that she hated Kaname. However what hold her to him, was feeling of being in debt rather than love. It is in anime that whenever she considers that Kaname is dangerous she cuts it off with "but he saved my life so it belongs to him anyways".
@@malikasowers6267 The one that causes this tragedy is Yuki. If she wasn't indecisive and so fragile, things would not be complicated and sad. Her weak and indecisive personnality is the problem. She has a confusion between love and friendship. She only loves Kaname, but she pities Zero and doesn't want to let him go completely (since she knows that he loves her). Honestly, she is the worst character. That is why, for me, the ending of the anime is satisfying, because she ends up with Kaname (who deserves her love much more than Zero).
7:44 that series *IS MY SHIZZLE!!!* I have all the manga and I binged the whole anime *SO MUCH!!!!* Yes, I am a bit of a sadist. You guessed right!! 16:10 Zero and Aido: my men!!!! Oh, Vampire Knight. I loved this one so much back as a teenager and then Yuki became a vampire and I fell off hard. Was very much team Yuki/Zero, so I thought her and Kaname being siblings would be the deal breaker, but nope, now they were supposed to be together. Like, huh? Went back and watched the anime years later and yeah, really questioning my tastes from back then, but if nothing else, this was a fun, if frustrating manga.
Vampire Knight and Kitchen Princess (I love Kitchen Princess so much, fight me) were the only two mangas available in that 2"-4" mostly empty section of my middle school library that I read a bit of. Do I remember Vampire Knight at all? Nope! But I thoroughly enjoyed this analysis as it is
Yo, I remember junior year of uni. That was one tough year academic-wise, and stress when it comes to trying to prepare for the work of senior year, along with the work getting ready to graduate at the end of the next year. Oof. What I mean to say is, you’re doing absolutely wonderfully, I’m sure. Try not to be hard on yourself ok? :)
Vamipre Knight was a fever dream that I try to forget as soon as I wake up. It proved that vampires are, in fact, a weird inbred species from Alabama. At least Zero (or Zeno?) was a white-haired emo boy we all need in our lives.
VP Knight was airing when I was 11&12 years old. I mainly watched for the opening and ending songs and I like Kaname’s face, don’t remember thing about his character. I don’t remember any plot at all since I never cared but this video and the one on teacher/ student tropes made me realise every anime/ manga I’ve ever consumed is messed up. I love Attack on Titan more now for have next to nothing when it comes to romance, at least to where I’m up to.
Lol the manga tho it’s my guilty pleasure XD The anime kind of ruined the ending but the manga was zeki ending but I agree it has soooo many uncomfortable crap
The way I used to be ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with Vampire Knight between 2011 and 2015 should be studied. I used to write fan fiction, had manga, merch and giant posters in my room. I used to follow a lot of repost pages on Instagram and waiting on the last chapters of the main story was absolute torture. I shipped Zeki so hard too🫣 I have fond memories of that time!
I was 12 or 13 when Vampire Knight came to the states, I'm now 30 and I was obsessed with the manga series, I looked forward to the anime and was sorely disappointed..... I do not claim the clusterfuck. I loved Matsuri Hino's other series so much more then Vampire Knight though.
i actually hacked my 3ds so i could play the vampire knight ds game in english and i’m not gonna lie it’s kinda fun 😭 like it’s loosely based on the season 1 plot and they bring in some new stuff or completely gloss over some stuff but it’s a dating game so like am i really there for the plot? also i did the world a favor and picked zero and honestly him and yuki are the much better couple for sure! like yuki in the game is so funny and sarcastic totally not as annoying when she’s not obsessing over kaname all the time 🙄 and zero is so sweet and he’s so goofy taking out his gun like every time the vampires say something 💀
Vampire knight it be one if my favorite mangas the plot was good , the manga is better because the season two last part was invented due vk was still ending season 1 in the manga so invented ending. Because shizuka abd ridou where the first two enemies. I wish the reboots Vampire knight to put both seasons all the manga I mean. Kaname goal was to give yuuki a safe and better future and even ge doesn't experience a other loved one death which was his past lover the hooded woman . So yea he is the last boss in the end . Kaname was the chess master he used everyone to protect yuuki. Also hino has a thing all her manga titles are the main male. Vampire knight is a other word for Zero Kiryuu . Due in the chessboard of kansme he represent the white knight and even he is a vampire . So zero kiryuu is the title. And yuuki loved both .
This anime was my dark gothic academia aesthetic when I was like 15 lol. Loved the eerie vampiric gothic aesthetic so much and still do 😂 but aside from that, I realize just how… messy this show was now that I’m in my 20s 😅
I watch the first season years ago out of boredom...and then watch a little of season 2 years later out of boredom again...but yeah this series is a mess.0__0Also congrats on the move btw your plushies are also very cute☺️🌸🌺💕

the only good thing about the anime was the opening songs lmao. but it fr was a guilty pleasure to watch it because everything that happens is so funny lmao you gotta laugh at the absurdity of it all. i remember staying up late to watch it secretly in our living room since it only aired at 10:30pm you gotta admit tho, Diabolik Lovers might be a shitshow but its hella funny tho lmao
I swear vk came out at a good timing where gothic stuff is on trend so everyone look pass all the confusion and effed up story line x'D The world is built not too bad, the aesthetic is super good, artstyle and character design is brilliant so i do love that in that regards, but OMG its something that just should straight up not be romance related lol. I end up hating yuuki and her non decisiveness and ships zero and kaname instead (i dont even know whats bl back then, i just do cus i hate yuki and wants her out of the triangle lol)
I'm so glad someone brought up how kaname is actually her 10,000 year old grandfather possessing her cousin/brother body because I NEED MORE PEOPLE TO BE CONFUSED LIKE ME
Looking at the rest of the manga I can say for sure the anime ended where it needed, even I was confused at first, and the ending really gave me 3 months depression. Spoilers alert Spoiler incoming now is your chance to go back now. Pretty much Kaname is actually a reincarnation of an ancestor in the Kuran family of Yuki, the real Kaname who was Yuki's brother died on that same day and was a sacrifice the founding father Kaname to be reborn by Rido Kuran,so basically he's like a great great ,great, great great....(you get the point grandfather pretty much a founder or progenitor of vampires from 10,0000 years ago),he also lived alongside a hooded woman who ironically looked exactly like Yuki, she sacrificed her heart to the furnace, for Kaname and moreover, so that vampire weapons such as Artemis and bloody rose the same one zero and Yuki held could be produced, as a way to prevent human beings from being enslaved by vampires because she had an admiration for human beings. In the present Kaname tries to finish the mission by trying to end the reign of Vampires by becoming a monster and killing nobles himself. Yuki being the innocent butterfly, Kaname wanted to make the world brighter and better, for her, because he loved her deeply, he could not standby and think of having another loved one sacrifice themselves again for him. Sadly, he willingly tore his heart out of his chest, tossed it inside the furnace and it was destroyed, by his own will. He admitted to Yuki, he wanted her to hate him so that her heart would hurt less when he dies, as a dying wish, he asked for Zero to take care of Yuki as he knows Zero brings her happiness and joy. This wish is fulfilled, for people who want the story between Zero and Yuki you're going to have to read Vampire Knight +.
Hello, I was around when Vampire Knight was basically relatively still new in the 2000s as a teenager. Basically nobody would shut up about it because it was basically "Twilight for anime fans". I watched it, it was alright (I guess). I've seen better. Even after the Manga finished people still want a new anime but I'm not totally sure how they'd be able to do that. If I can recommend a vampire series it would be Karin / Chibi Vampire, not the anime though, the original manga if you want a cute vampire series. The anime cuts out so much it's basically a different story.
I just realized that I never really watched the anime and seeing how it looks they really ruined that manga art 😭😭 I shouldn't be surprised at this point but damn
The anime was a downgrade, especially in terms of the art design. I *loved* the manga, but the anime is ehh.
Yeah, I have my gripes about Vampire Knight as a whole, but op1 and the mangaka’s detailed character designs are not among them ❤
Agreed. The soundtrack of the anime was dope though.
Yeah Studio DEEN would usually do that

Then the story/characterization absolutely went to shit after chapter 30 which is right around when Yuuki became a vampire. The story did a totally bizarre tone shift and the remaining 63 chapters seemed like an entirely different series. Zero was the only well-written character and even he couldn't save the story once Yuuki turned into a vampire. So no, this series did not age well at all. Also, Kaname is abusive as heck and gives me major pedobear vibes.
Vampire Knight could have been so good, however the ending is so messed up and making yuuki and kaname siblings made the whole thing worse'
They weren't siblings,Kaname is actually a reincarnation of the founding father or progenitor of vampires 10,0000 years back, the brother of Yuki actually died on that day as a sacrifice for the founder to be reborn,Kaname just didn't know about it till his memories returned.
@@sowo7136 oh I didn't know that! Thank you! :)
@@Milovely you're welcome my dear 🥰
@@sowo7136 wait isn't he actually Yukis grandfather or smth
@@Milovely nah,not only that but Yuki still fell in love with kaname even though she thought that was her brother, and even worse kaname is apparently, safe to say,her grandfather and Yukis parents are siblings and not only that but Yuki soon had a baby with kaname and another with zero,it's pretty messed up
I’ve been wanting to rewatch this series as an adult without my rose-colored puberty glasses because I know it did not age well 😩
loved this in-depth look at vampire lore and media to illustrate how often vampire knight threw all historical references out of the window in favor drama and romance.
Just overall very wtf Hino just give up and say you didn't know what else to do
vampire knight was so wild and messy but i still loveee the aesthetic of it
I look at it said it can't be worse than twilight. It stole my money, beat me up and left me for dead.

Vampire Knight was my first manga and anime, so it's still in my heart. I still have the art book, fan book and manga and I'll always cherish them even though Hino doesn't know wtf is going on in her own story. 😭
I love your essay videos! Carmilla is actually the first vampiric novel that predates Dracula novel. No one really talks about because it was sapphic
Not me remembering dedicating my teenage years reading it only to drop it bc my teenage self was sick and tired of all the angst and confusion.
Keep up the awesome work!🎉✨
NOOO I LOVE DANCE WITH DEVIIIL AAAA THE SOOONGS ARE TOO GOOD
Omg finale somebody talking about it that show was just too much for 4th grade me😭I remember looking for the manga in libraries and finding it online and being sooooo just WOW
The same author also wrote a series called Meru Peri and it has very pedophilic themes that I didn't realize were weird or taboo when I was 12 and found the manga in my middle school library.
I've never watched any episodes but I love the opening theme of Vampire Knight the dark aesthetics and the animation is really cute too.
Please talk about Skip beat! It's so good and deserves so much more attention and it's actually worth watching!
Honestly most vampire animes are either a guilty pleasure type thing or the most depressing show youve ever watched in a while (Vampire in the garden)
I would also like to ask can we have a raise of hands of how many people found a vampire anime and had something awaken from deep within them because I did
I just remember being so terrified about vampires as a kid tho, then i started watching anime and it did a 180
Not me at Age 14 thinking up an OC that was also Rido's son and making up a weird storyline I have largely forgotten other than it ended up with Rido and the OC being lovers^^
Maybe because Rido was the character I was most attracted to because he looked the oldest?
I don't have much Problems with fictional incest and age gaps but that was really on the nose even for me^^
I will NEVER forget when *that* chapter came out. I read that shit in Shojo Beat bitch. I was FLABBER👏GASTED👏
Also girl WELCOME TO THIS MANGA ITS RIDICULOUS AND WEIRD AND AWFUL
bro this was my shit when i was eleven, it was my first anime and i watched it in parts on youtube 😭 had me in a chokehold fr. the manga art is really gorgeous tho
When I saw the title I was like "YESSSS!!! This is exactly what it was a fever dream" perfectly put. Loved the video.
Same lol I can't even remember where I watched this. Probably dramacool before it was shut down.
All I remember about VK is the fucking stick figure fights at the end lmao
The sad thing is vampire knight was one of the first anime I watched (right after Tokyo Mew Mew) I didn’t know any better and am scared for life 🥲💀
This was the series I’d get on UA-cam to watch three parts of a single episode of. I’d eagerly search for any fan subs I could find before going to middle school.
My guilty pleasure, I love it sm
I completely forgot I watched this. Core memory unlocked. Team Zero subscription reactivated!
vampire knight is one of my first ever watched animes, and even tho i hate this incest part with passion…this anime is still my guilty pleasure 😅
I had no problem giving my old copies of the manga away. I remember that my high school self kept expecting it to get interesting.
What if all the pureblooded male vampires had Dorito-kun faces because they all had lesser cases of Habsburg jaw?
When the Manga came out in my country, i got every single one of them as a young teen with the little money i had... Until the weird incest shit came and i just was so sorry for Zero at the time and noped out forever out of it. I tried the Anime... But by gosh the produktion quality and translation of the artstyle of the Manga just was too bad...
Ps: Yuki is still the worst 🤣
Vampire knight had me in such a massive chokehold, but so did Vampire doll and Vampire kisses lol
The tall orange haired vampire and the kaname simp girl do get together, buuuuut
They're cousins so-
Vampire Knight was my favorite manga and I have most of the Shojo Beats to prove it. Now hearing it again at 41, I'm like, what was I on? Lol but the op and endings slapped.
True! My favorites were both of the ending songs, I loved the season 1’s song so much i looked for the full version and listened to it over and over again.
30! Minutes! On this matter! Omg I'm simultaneously shoked and feeling blessed, can't wait to dive into this
Edit: very good analysis, I was definitely surprised you didn't have like 20k followers
But when u summarized the storyline did you just completely skip over the part where
Spoiler
Yuuki had been a vampire all along AND kanames sister
I was rlly curious what u would have to say about that, it was mentioned in passing at the end but not as part of the storyline explanation which would really confuse ppl who haven't seen it ig
Oh boi, I still remember me being 12 and reading yukis words of "he is my biological brother" and I was internally like "yesss now she has to drop that shitty kaname obsession and get with zero and they all cna be happily ever after"
@@malikasowers6267
The one that causes this tragedy is Yuki.
It's official, this dude gets matches my vibes, and I'm subbed!

Nice video. Lol,i never wstch this shot, i just know it from my sister but i have a few pics in my head from the intro.

Vamipre Knight was a fever dream that I try to forget as soon as I wake up.

At least Zero (or Zeno?) was a white-haired emo boy we all need in our lives.
I mean it was always kind of an action as it had villains and fight scenes and also kaname has W rizz and zero has massive plot armor
VP Knight was airing when I was 11&12 years old. I mainly watched for the opening and ending songs and I like Kaname’s face, don’t remember thing about his character. Kaname's gaslighting tendencies are even worse in the manga
Ur set up is so cute!
bro I remember watching Vampire Knight and getting very confused on the ending
Vampire Knight would have been better if it were about Yuki escaping Kaname's abusive and crazy ass

Spoiler incoming now is your chance to go back now.
