  • In this video we crack open a Husqvarna 430X Automower to take a look at what is actually inside of one of these units. As you can see there are a few electric motors, circuit boards, some wire, and the battery but there is also a lot of empty space inside the unit.

Thanks! You just stopped me from taking my 430xh apart to check wiring connections.

I just bought a 315 and it might be the best purchase I've ever made. It works so much better than I'd expected. Kinda spendy, but the engineering and testing that went into this thing make it worth it!

Late question, but have you tried 3rd party batteries or only used original battery packs? If so, any recommendations?

Thank you for showing. I have a hard time figuring out why they are so expensive now that I've seen the inside.

Excellent video! I do have questions. Are these mowers sealed well enough to keep water out if the mower were to enter a pool of standing water about 6 or so inches deep? I also would like to know how I can change the phone number in the AutoConnect that will allow me to send commands to the Automower. I bought mine online so it’s not programmed with my number. My magnet fell out after the first year. I found it using a pice of steel conduit, dragging it around the yard near the place where it stopped. I sealed it back in place with some silicone and it’s been fine since. I do get some odd errors from time to time, especially after it’s been upside down for a blade change.

6 inch deep water is too much. The AutoConnect software is actually connected by your Google Play or Apple account and not by phone number.

Eshlemania TV I figured as much but I can’t be the only one with a deep spot or two after a heavy rain. Why don’t they still include the rain sensor so it can park as an option, like the early models in Europe had. AutoConnect has two way SMS functionality separate from the apps. Where I am going is if I could send an SMS to my mower to park it I could use IFTTT.com to park the mower when it rains.

My Automower 430X has been hard at work for the last 5 months, and I find that it is indispensable. But today the power supply is out of commission so the base station and mower are useless.
I really need a new power supply ASAP, and Husqvarna support is slow. Do you have one on hand for sale, or can you suggest an alternative?

Thanks! It helped me fixing the collision active sign. My wife lifted it to hard and one of the joysticks was loose. I just pressed it back :-) Saved me a trip to the repairshop.

Thanks for that. Do you know if it is possible to install a bigger or extra battery in a 420? I'd love to try it (maybe closer to end of warranty).

Currently, no you can not add a second battery to the 420 or 430X models. But who knows what the future will bring.

Eshlemania TV Do you know if fitting a single higher capacity battery would increase cutting time ? I'm assuming it's not hard coded for the standard and hours?

We've had a chance to play around with several 430X models and compared notes with several others that own them and have been using them for a year or more and it seems that all of us were around the same work to charge times of 4 hrs mowing to about 45 mins to recharge and be back out mowing again. So with that kind of efficiency there's not much reason to spend the money or time trying to upgrade the battery. Also as the weeks go by the mower will learn the lawn or work area and create it's own map using GPS. This will make the mower even more efficient over all by cutting down on the amount of time it spends mowing thanks to the weather timer feature. The "Add a second battery to a 430X" was a popular topic for the first few months after the units arrived in the United States. But after people actually used them and gave them time to do their thing the talks died off because people realized there just wasn't a need for a second battery.

Thanks. I guess it'll depend on how long your grass is, how sharp your blades are and what temperature it is. But I've just timed my 420 and it cut for 1hr 25 mins then charged for 50 mins.

    Hi,
I just set up a Husqvarna auto mower 315. I have it all hooked up the green light is on the charger. Everything seems correctly installed. The mower powers up and tells me to shut the door to start. Then nothing happens. It just sits there. I have not seen the thing move yet! Is there a one time setup wizard when you first turn it on? If so I may have used that before I had my wire set up. How can I make it do the initial setup again?

    • @EshlemaniaTV
      @EshlemaniaTV  7 років тому

Put it back in the charging station. Go into the menu and go to "SECURITY". Then go to ADVANCED. Then choose "LEARN NEW LOOP". Once the connection has changed it should be ready to start mowing. If this doesn't solve your problem then call Buck Hardware (717-284-2722) and ask for Dwight.

Figured it out. There was a loose ribbon cable going to the start button.
