Wow you have completely inspired and sent me in a different direction with this video. I am in the army (17 years + recovering alcoholic). Doing DIYs on a decent affordable budget has been my dream! I will no doubt be making this window with shutters on the side for my living room wall!! I will send you pics on your Instagram but just wanted you to know how powerful these tutorials really are!! Love you keep doing you
Oh yes! That glaze works fantastic. I've been wanting a kreg jig for some time now. That works great! Thanks Emily for a great tutorial! And hope your having fun on your trip Sweetie! HUGS Debbie I just looked 50k Congratulations!!
I love it! This came at the perfect time. I have two walls I’ve been looking for windows for and I haven’t been able to find the right size. Thanks for the tips and tutorial! I love how it came out.
My mantle is a lil back set behind our wood burning stove. I would love some of your ideas to help me decorate it. Love this frame can't wait as I so want to try making one. TFS xoxox
Momma From Scratch oh okay, oh no can't catch fire . Mantel sits behind our wood Burning stove and about 3 plus feet away we recently remodeled and left the wood panel and so gald we did. Maybe one day on my channel I will film it , haven't posted in awhile miss it. Thank you for your reply xoxox
i haven't done crackle in so many years it was big in the 90s. I have always loved it. This is awesome, but you should have showed the end look a bit longer. great job. i think i use glue to crackle back in the day. glad there is another option.
The chipped look is amazing. New technique to me. I just made a shutter / window pane and I already painted them. Do you know if I could go back and do the chipped look on top of the paint i already did? Or will it mess it up because it was fully coated?
So cute! I just finished making the window frame and staining it an espresso color... I want to paint white over the top and use the chippy paint method you used. Will it work ok over the stain or should I paint it a dark color first like you did?
HELP 😣 I just tried this but it didn't turn out right. Does it matter the brand of petroleum jelly or type of paint? Or maybe I didn't put the petroleum jelly on thick enough? Yours turned out so pretty 😭😭😭
Momma From Scratch Thanks so much for replying I already cut mine and sanded and stained them down I used liquid nails to kept it together it’s drying overnight but tomorrow I’ll head to hardware store to get those brackets thanks again
What kind of woodworking sorcery is this???!!!!😮 That’s some awesome cracking finish!!!!! I need some now 💯

My mantle is a lil back set behind our wood burning stove. I would love some of your ideas to help me decorate it. Love this frame can't wait as I so want to try making one. TFS xoxox
I would decorate it the same with it being flush besides not having anything hang down and catch fire you know:)

Thank so much Juliana!
5x stop and start video hope i got the lengths right. This is obviously over my head skill wise.

Thanks, yes you can it would give it more character,
Loved this
AMAZING DIY 😍
Amazing!
Love it!....
Awesome!
Love you Emery
Love it 😍
Love this! What was the Vaseline used for? Did it help the paint to crackle more?
Yes for the crackle if you don't have the Valdosta stuff!
Cute!
I love it 😍
So cute! I just finished making the window frame and staining it an espresso color... I want to paint white over the top and use the chippy paint method you used. Will it work ok over the stain or should I paint it a dark color first like you did?
It’s should be fine if you use the chippy glaze on it. I would test it out on a small scrap wood and see
The bottom layer should matter since it’s set anyways
Momma From Scratch Thank you! One more question for ya, if that’s ok... where can I find the glaze?
I don't have a kreg jig, can I use wood glue or another attachment method?
Trying to do it with a big Pic frame
About how long did this entire project take you? Is it doable with a toddler running around?
the painting took the longest maybe 30 minutes with all the cuts ad screws. yes I have two boys you can do it
HELP 😣 I just tried this but it didn't turn out right. Does it matter the brand of petroleum jelly or type of paint? Or maybe I didn't put the petroleum jelly on thick enough? Yours turned out so pretty 😭😭😭
oh im sorry. I like a good amount of jelly to get bigger strips. try sanding some more.
😍😍😍
Where do you get the little kreig jig??
lows, they have a few options, mine was about $10 bucks i think but they go up to 100s depending on the options you get
So why did you use both petroleum jelly and the crackle paint? I'm confused.. 😶
Disculpa, las medidas que has dado son en cm?
Muchas gracias te veo desde España 😘
Son pulgadas
I don’t have any power tools and my husband is NOT handy at all. Do u think I could make this just using a heavy glue like E6000?
I would get L brackets or strainght line brackets at the store and use a screw driver by hand .
What are the measurement to the window
almost 48 wide by 24 high
Thanks a bunch
What if I don’t have a Craig jig
You could use flat brackets on the back
Momma From Scratch Thanks so much for replying I already cut mine and sanded and stained them down I used liquid nails to kept it together it’s drying overnight but tomorrow I’ll head to hardware store to get those brackets thanks again
Is there something more affordable
You misspelled scratch in your title
Thanks I fixed it!
