I love this ! I'm so glad I found your video first, because this is exactly what I'm looking for. I have two large mirrors (2 baths) against corners and 3 large mirrors that were in my living room when I bought my house - got rid of two and want to frame one as a full length for my bedroom. There are mirror frame companies that want $250+ for what you just showed us how to do. And, your frame has style to it, rather than just a plain jane frame. Thanks for sharing!

Emily, what kind of clips did you have before you installed the frame? Mine are so think, the frame would not fit flat (( Nice work.

Emily what did you do to the clips on the mirror to be able to put wood over it? Did you have to remove your clips that holds the mirror on the wall or did you have the metal clips? I have plastic ones that is raised then on bottom I have the flatter metal ones.

This looks amazing. Yep we all have one like this or close. So I’m going to do this. Just one question. What kind of adhesive did you use? Another video said to use an adhesive for wood and glass. Yep...but a brand would be good. Less hunting that way...lol. Thanks so much. I just hate that big old mirror. Can’t wait to get started.

I’m so glad I came across this video! I was looking for a way to update a 35 year old bathroom with a 7 ft mirror I didn’t want to lose because the mirror makes the smaller space appear larger.
I took mine a couple steps further and added distressing to the wood, and a I stained a twisted braid style trim to tack (I used a nail gun for mine instead of the glue) onto the edge of the 1x2.
It looks like it cost hundreds, but I only spent $55 total!
Trying to upload photos with no luck!

New subscriber, a very clearly described voice-over of the project & a well put together video. Just one small thing, your intro was spoken so fast that I couldn't hear what you were saying. Audiences on YT are all over the world & are not necessarily familiar with makers' local accents & expressions, so it is often necessary to relax & slow down a bit, just like when you did the voice-over (which was really good btw). A great job in all, well done.

Momma From Scratch I wish I could add a pic of my receipt. Pine wood is more expensive than regular. Mine was (1x4’s 8ft and 10ft and 1x2’s $6.59 each) $9.23 and $15.48. Yes, wood stain $5 for each color, the sealer was $8.68 (quart size), loctite $4.98, flat corner $4.74, sand sponge $5.97, foam brushes $5.97, black spray $4.48, enamel $4.27... total: $89.05 plus taxes... $95.28. I know it will be worth it at the end but it is definitely NOT a $20 project 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks so much. Our mirrors are like that and have water damage at bottom where the silverinb is gone. I love your version no mite ring.

I’ve been wanting to frame out my bathroom mirrors but have been hesitant because I wonder how the frame will sit flat over the small hooks around the mirror holding it up to the wall. How did you get around this or how did you glue the pieces of wood over those little hooks and made sure they fully attached to the mirror?

so mine didnt have the small hooks but flat overlays. you can notch out those areas in the wood backing. THe adhesive I used has held up great .
