So I actually ended up with this headset for Christmas as a gift from a family member. Thing is, I didn't need it for my PC but for my new PS5 that I recently purchased. And let me tell ya, these are a gem for the PS5. Sound is great, super cozy comfort that I can wear all night without pain, and surprisingly, all my friends said I sounded the best I ever had. Which is REALLY weird to me since I had been using a wired Razer Blackshark and a wireless Arctis 7p+ that I ended up returning. So yeah, I guess my previous comment might apply for PC? But for PS5, these are a win.
@Brian Price I do. Battery life is better. Range is better. Comfort is better (for me and I wear glasses). Mic is better since they said I sounded better than anything else I used. And also with a PS5 you get notifications on the screen for mute and volume increase / decrease. And probably my favorite feature is I don’t have to always unplug the dongle or have to go into the system settings to switch from headset mode to tv speakers whenever I turn my headset off. The Sonys do it automatically once you turn off the headset. They are a gem.
@Brian Price yeah you can set an equalizer on a PC and it sticks but you have to do that every time you want to switch an equalizer profile. Probably the only bummer I suppose.
@Brian Price well…comfort is very subjective. Since the SS use a ski band approach and the H7 uses a traditional comfy band, it’s just different. I personally like the ski band of the SS more but I also feel like those headsets need it since they are so heavy. The H7s aren’t as heavy so they don’t really need that and feel very comfortable. I can wear them for hours straight and not be uncomfortable. For me they are greatness and super cozy.
@@ArthurRVega can you set an EQ setting on PC and it will transfer over to ps5? Or is it only on pc? Don’t understand why they didn’t add a EQ to the ps5 for these.
@@troybertram9496 You can definitely set an EQ profile on PC and it will carry over to PlayStation. I also agree with you, I wish they just put an adjustable EQ in the PlayStation software. It’s kind of annoying having to go back and forth if you want to tweak the EQ but at least it works.
I actually just picked up the Black Shark V2s off of Amazon open box for $72 as someone whose been though a few headsets due to comfort and wearing glasses I’ve gotta say they are the most comfortable ones I’ve work next to my momentums. what's your take on 3D audio quality between this headset and Pulse 3D headset that was launched alongside PS5? Do you feel any significant improvements between the two headset? Thanks
One of the best headsets ive purchase and its so much better than pulse 3D like way better. Battery life is 40 hours and the adjustment you can make with the 3D audio for gaming smooth as fuck. The bass on it is Awesome and makes gaming more intense especially playing horror or shooter games. Oh you can basically talk within 10M which is a longer range than pulse 3D.
Have u tested the H9 yet and how would u compare the 2? H9 vs H7? Is it worth spending extra? Is there a difference in sound? Or is it just adding the anc extra?
I have the H9. It is pretty good, have been using it for 6 months. Comparing it vs the Pulse 3D, it is in another league, far superior. I use it with GT7, MW3, FFXVI and Robocop. Very good on all of them. The AnC is also good, not on XM5 level, but still good.
Techne! You have to do a review on the Lucidsound line. I owned the Lucidsound Ls15x and I thought they killed my more expensive Turtle beach and Razor Kraken headsets. I'd like to see how they stack up against the Hyperx cloud 2 or something in that range. Come on Techne... They've got swivel lol.
What headset would you suggest for use between a desktop pc, a mobile pc (steam deck), ps5 and a phone(iPhone) that has an ANC/transparency mode available.I’d prefer if I could use Bluetooth and wireless in parallel, but I’d settle for swapping back and forth if necessary. I’d also prefer not to have to hardwire it, and preferably look okay as it will be my primary headset while I’m out (I’m Neurodivergent so I need the ability to drown out my environment, and wear headphones 90% of my day)
Hi man! Great video!! I have a few questions regarding the h7..hope you can help me. How is the audio quality on apps like Netflix from ps5? does volume adjustment work well? and does show volume adjustment on screen on these apps? I'm asking because I've tried other headphones and the audio quality drops drastically on these apps compared to when playing games...and I'm looking for the perfect headphones for both gaming and watching TV series from ps5.
Great review. Could you tell how is this headset doing compared to arctis 7p+? I'm trying to figure out which one to pick for my ps5, I'm not a PC gamer
As someone who has a lot of experience and tried and tested lots and lots of headsets, I would stay away from SteelSeries I’m a big fan of SteelSeries headsets when it comes to sound and features. They’re amazing. However, I owned 3 pairs of the Arctis Pro Wireless and all 3 developed the exact same fault with one of the drivers stops working. I mean you couldn’t make it up and I’m being serious I also know a few people who had the 7P’s and they also developed different issues over time including some completely stopped working It would be too long to give you all the advise here, but honestly I would go for a headset that has a balanced sound, great imagining. Depends on what genre of games you play of course. If you play a lot of FPS games I would say go for something like the Astro A20 or A50, Sony Pulse 3D. Sony Pulse isn’t the best when it comes to pure sound quality, but it’s great for footsteps and directional audio. I’m currently using the A20 and it has built in 3 EQ presets as well and they’re great. Put it this way, if you care about footsteps, give or take a couple metres, with any decent headset or headphone you’ll hear footsteps from around the same distance which is 28-35 metres in game
@@jeang7088 sorry for taking your time, but could you also share your thoughts after using sony's pulse 3d, is this a good ps5 headset for the price and how good it is compared to arctis 7p+
@TheTechne this one Sony H7 for 10K INR or Barracuda X for 7k or Barracuda 12.5k or Barracuda hyperspeed 12.5k, which one sounds good for gaming and music
See I knew the EQ adjustments wouldn’t save to carry over to the PS5. I won’t be buying these. The core sound just isn’t enough for different genre of games, especially if you’re someone who plays a lot of FPS games. It’s really a shame, because whilst I understand PlayStation is Sony but separate department, I would have thought being a Sony product they would have developed it to be completely compatible with the PS5 as well
@@DrYeetz I hope you’re right for your sake, but I can almost guarantee it won’t You can tell they’ve developed this headset to cater PC gamers Even if it does, I hear that apart from the general sound quality being really good, it’s no different to any other headset prices £100 upwards when it comes to imaging I think Sony’s marketing and selling point for this headset is the fact that it’s based on their great Sony XM series headphones
Great review as always TECHNE I am definitely a Sony fan but the new Logitech G735’s just came out and they are BEAUTIFUL will you review that as well and maybe compare the H7 and the G735’s???
To be honest~ the microphones of these three SONY earphones are all the same. I also bought H9 $300 earphones with such cheap sound quality microphones.
Thanks for the review, the volume slider getting hit while on sofa is a total killer for me as this will be for my ps5 only and if you can't lay back while on playstation then what's the point of being on playstation. Might buy a nova7 instead.
Would these work with Playstation 4 Pro and Xbox Series X? As I am looking for one pair of headphones that I can use with Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 Pro.
I so wanted to buy this but honestly the microphone quality is really disappointing at this premium price, it's a dealbreaker. I may be crazy but feel even my much cheaper Logitech G430 has better mic. I might just go for the Steelseries ARCTIS 7P+ WIRELESS.
It really is disappointing but i will buy it anyway because honestly, i just wanna be undertstood, which it is enough for. And it has a lot of features i really need like the dual drivers
@@eisregenhaha yeah I am really torn, I don't know what to pick. So weird; i had the H3 and the mic was good. I use skype with a friend and we gaming and the sound quality mic was good, my friend says it was good, he understand me without any problem etc...
Thanks for the video - was all hyped for the H7 or H9 but that Mic quality on a £200 or £270 headset is just plain insulting - even if just for gaming let alone phone calls. I can hear my friends laughing now in party chat if they found out I'd spent that much for this mic :(

I had purchased these when they were on sale over year ago but I feel like the bass is a little flat even after messing with EQ. But i prefer a little more punch myself.
Can these connect to an Xbox via Bluetooth? I’m assuming they can connect to a smart tv via Bluetooth which would let me hear the audio of the game, but would the mic work for chat?
WOW! After i heard everything you have said, i was thinking about to buy this headset! BUT!!!!!! At the end you said this is similar to Stealth 700 gen 2! I HAVE THIS HEADSET AND I HATE IT!!!!!!!!! Im so disappointed right now.... Can you recommend something with good sound and great bass for the ps5?
Great review! Question for you Teche: would you recommend these or the Virtuoso XT’s? I mainly game on PC, but do use PS5 sometimes as well. I picked up the Virtuoso for $209.
He has reviewed the XT twice, did a re-visit of it with Wicked Cushions and just put it in his Top 5 Gaming Headsets of 2022 a week ago as well as compared it to the new SteelSeries Nova Pro. I would assume he picks the XT over these all day, especially when it comes to the features.
I used normal virtuosos and the clamping force on them for me was quite uncomfortable, I'm pretty sure the XTS have a similar problem but if you have a smaller head it probably wont bother you much. The mic quality on corsair headsets is incredible with how good it is compared to other brands, I don't think I have ever seen another company do mic quality on headsets as good as corsair does it. And the sound quality is also very good straight out of the box, I also prefer the design of the virtuosos over the design for the Inzone h7s just because its like a slick jet black design with the rgb logos on the side (which you can turn off in the icue software).
As for the Sony Inzone H7s I bought them on release and I am still using them now and they are fantastic! Techne isn't joking with how stinkin cozy these are!! The mic quality isn't all that impressive but it does the job and the battery life is a huge plus on them too and was the main reason I got them since they are 40 hours compared to the headset I had beforehand (Turtle Beach 700p gen 2s) which was only 20 hours. Sound quality as well for the Inzone H7s I would say are pretty good but where they truly shine in my opinion is when your listening to music. Now don't get me wrong though as for just your usual gaming activities these are perfect and do the job well, I have been playing games like Warzone and Fortnite while using these and I can hear people around me perfectly. One thing I would suggest though is to just not bother using its spatial sound setting you find in the Inzone software as it doesn't make a huge difference overall and if anything just makes the sound quality slightly worse in my opinion. They are good straight out the box using its base "flat" setting.
Not good mic quality and easily scuffed. So I think I'm going with artics 9. However, I like the usb dongle for the inzone h7 and usb c charging, which the artics 9 don't have.
I know sound is very subjective but you love the epos h6pro and I tried that 2 days ago on ps5 and it was shockingly shite, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Great review. Quick question techne if you could have a pick over the turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2 max or the audeze penrose x or the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 + SuperAmp which would you pick for xbox?
I'm trying to decide if I should get a new headset for my pc. I prefer wireless. I was looking at the steelseries arctis nova pro wireless. Or the astro a50. And if I do get one of them would they be much better then my current one with is the turtle beach stealth 600.and I also use the ps5 headset. Another one I was looking at is the logitech g pro x wireless. And what games I will play are shooters and mmos and rpgs
hey techne, was wondering if you could do a top 5 headsets for bigger heads. maybe larger frames with less clamping force? i ended up buying the hs80 because of the comparison with the arctis 7 but it turns out the hs80 has waaaaaay too much clamping force.

@@onuridvan I think H7 is suitable for FPS game most as 70% / 30% other’s entertainment like movie
I returned the H9 after half a day of owning them and got myself the steelseries nova pro wireless which were ALOT Better. H9s had Low sound quality for the cost and my hearing capability, but the mic sound quality was just outride insulting. According to my friends they thought I was On a replacement headset that costed no more than $50. I wasnt going to let anything slide at $300. I could of shopped around for other headsets around that price and gotten a better value. H9s should be $200 Max.
How are the Nova Pro doing?
I've got these Nova Pro Wireless as well (xbox version). Best headset I've ever had. $350 is steep, but it's worth it.
Thank you man. I don't know if I should wait for the Pro Wireless to be restocked or buy the Nova Pro.
@@joannothing you’re welcome. It looks like Amazon has them in stock with 2 day shipping.
@@Jon_007_ do you feel the nubs inside the ear cups in the nova pro wireless? I have big ears and I’m afraid I will feel them . I’m looking for a high end pair of gaming headphones
Thinking of picking up the Epos H6Pros to compare and see if it’s worth going back to wired.
Blacksharks are very good but micro usb and broken sidetone killed it for me. One of the most comfortable headsets I ever had
Definitely agree on the comfort level. I also love the Turtle Beach Stealth Gen 2 Max for comfort once you break them in and use the glasses relief
@@ryanspartan7853 I definitely need to try the Gen 2 Max. Currently back on the Arctis Pro Wireless for PS5 and Astro A40 for PC. This channel does not do my bank account any favours but this Techne chap is likeable so what can we do 🤷♂️
I'd like to see a comparison between the H7 and the arctis 7p+ anyone have any experience with both I'm in desperate need for a new PS headset
Get the H7, twas designed for PS
H7’s for sure. Game/chat mix for me is a must have and on PS5 its as scarce as hens teeth. The Arctis 7p is average at best
@@johnjames7332 doesn't the 7p+ have game chat mix on ps5
@@KParks Unfortunately not. Only Sonys headsets can do game/chat mix on the Playstation.
@@johnjames7332 oh I thought one of the models did, it's not really that important to me I rarely ever change the chat mix after I set it up anyway. I'm using the Platinums now and can't lower the mic enough it's on the lowest setting and still too loud but works fine on PS4 if I can get the mic lower Id keep using them ehh they do kinda hurt my ears tho lol
What do you recommend better Sony Inzone H7 or the turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2 max. I’m playing on a PS5. Thanks in advance!
Great review. I ultimately went with the Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox as well.
I believe you should really do the H9 too.
what's your take on 3D audio quality between this headset and Pulse 3D headset that was launched alongside PS5?
Hey Techne. I have a question. If you had to choose between these, the H7 and the Corsair HS80 wireless, which one would you choose ? And why
How is the 3D Audio with GT7? I’m tossed between these and ATH-GDL3.
Hey! What do u think, which is the better headset for PS5 gaming, mostly CallOfDuty. Sony inzone H7 or Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen2 Max?
What headset would you suggest for use between a desktop pc, a mobile pc (steam deck), ps5 and a phone(iPhone) that has an ANC/transparency mode available.I’d prefer if I could use Bluetooth and wireless in parallel, but I’d settle for swapping back and forth if necessary. I’d also prefer not to have to hardwire it, and preferably look okay as it will be my primary headset while I’m out (I’m Neurodivergent so I need the ability to drown out my environment, and wear headphones 90% of my day)
The H9, black version
Looking around the $200 price range. Do you think these are one of the best wireless headsets?
I'd save yourself $50 an just buy the Corsair HS80. Better build quality and one of the best if not best microphones on a wireless headset

As someone who has a lot of experience and tried and tested lots and lots of headsets, I would stay away from SteelSeries
I’m a big fan of SteelSeries headsets when it comes to sound and features. They’re amazing. However, I owned 3 pairs of the Arctis Pro Wireless and all 3 developed the exact same fault with one of the drivers stops working. I mean you couldn’t make it up and I’m being serious
I also know a few people who had the 7P’s and they also developed different issues over time including some completely stopped working
It would be too long to give you all the advise here, but honestly I would go for a headset that has a balanced sound, great imagining.
@@famezy9103 shame, hope I won't come across such problems
@@jeang7088 and do you recomend this headset, what are your thoughts after using it?
@@jeang7088 sorry for taking your time, but could you also share your thoughts after using sony's pulse 3d, is this a good ps5 headset for the price and how good it is compared to arctis 7p+
@TheTechne this one Sony H7 for 10K INR or Barracuda X for 7k or Barracuda 12.5k or Barracuda hyperspeed 12.5k, which one sounds good for gaming and music
SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 or these? Which sounds better?
Would it be recommended to use a bluetooth headphones
I got the 700 Gen2 because of you, these look awesome but imma gonna stick with mine!!!
How is their sound compared to the Sony Pulse 3D?
See I knew the EQ adjustments wouldn’t save to carry over to the PS5. I won’t be buying these.
The core sound just isn’t enough for different genre of games, especially if you’re someone who plays a lot of FPS games.
It’s really a shame, because whilst I understand PlayStation is Sony but separate department, I would have thought being a Sony product they would have developed it to be completely compatible with the PS5 as well
@@DrYeetz I hope you’re right for your sake, but I can almost guarantee it won’t
You can tell they’ve developed this headset to cater PC gamers
Even if it does, I hear that apart from the general sound quality being really good, it’s no different to any other headset prices £100 upwards when it comes to imaging
I think Sony’s marketing and selling point for this headset is the fact that it’s based on their great Sony XM series headphones
I got these today as a Christmas gift. I can’t wait to try them out! I’m sort of worried about the microphone quality. How are they holding up?
How have they been I have been thinking of getting a set
Would you guys say going from nova 7p+ to H7 is un upgrade?
Great review as always TECHNE I am definitely a Sony fan but the new Logitech G735’s just came out and they are BEAUTIFUL will you review that as well and maybe compare the H7 and the G735’s???
Hey brother would you prefer these of the HyperX Cloud Core Wireless or the Razer Barracuda X 2022??? Waiting for your reply
What are the best budget and non budget ps5 headphones for fps games that have both wireless and 3.5mm jack option?
To be honest~ the microphones of these three SONY earphones are all the same. I also bought H9 $300 earphones with such cheap sound quality microphones.
My Sony pulse broke in half ,will these break in half and a year?
what do you prefer sony inzone h7 or razer kraken v3 pro for ps5?
Awesome are they compatible with PS4 ?
Great review! But, for what you arw saying, I think I prefer the Turtle Beach or even a Blackshark V2 Pro.
Hey amazing channel, lucky I found you. I have a question, between the Sony H7 and Corsair hs80, which one would you pick?
H7, the hs80 sound bad on ps5 and the battery is bad.
Do you plan on reviewing the H9's?
waiting for the Sony H9 review and a comparison between H9 and the Arctis Nova Wireless!
I'm not covering the H9, only diff is noise cancellation
Just got this , I’m impressed overall
Thanks for the review, the volume slider getting hit while on sofa is a total killer for me as this will be for my ps5 only and if you can't lay back while on playstation then what's the point of being on playstation. Might buy a nova7 instead.
What headset should i get for xbox with around $300 budget ????
I just watched the review of the HS80 RGB WIRELESS and while the mic is superb it does not have simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth connection(does not have bluetooth at all) while the Inzone does. Also you can adjust the game chat balance or Inzone while you cannot on Corsair. I might just rather wait and watch out for new headsets, I hope Logitech is cooking something in their kitchen.
@@Hopkins955 i really wouldnt take the hs80 wireless, many many people reported battery dropping to 5 hours after a few months. Very bad batteery life. Im gonna take the h7 because of 40hour batter, its just too superb
I thought the H3 had a better mic but both mics were bad. My suggestion go with either Logitech G Pro X with Blue voice or Beradyamics MX100 for around $100.
Also wired is better than wireless with the exception of the Corsair Vistro
So weird; i had the H3 and the mic was good. I use skype with a friend and we gaming and the sound quality mic was good, my friend says it was good, he understand me without any problem etc...
Thanks for the video - was all hyped for the H7 or H9 but that Mic quality on a £200 or £270 headset is just plain insulting - even if just for gaming let alone phone calls. I can hear my friends laughing now in party chat if they found out I'd spent that much for this mic :(
I understand your pain, I game for long sessions with friends, confort is the most important for me reason why I was thinking on getting this, but the bad mic just gave me second thoughts, did you found a better option (comfy and good mic)

Hi. sony’s inzone h7 how do I update the firmware.
Can you change the Equalizer inside The PlayStation.
Thanks for the review.
You Are the best.
Is it better than the 3d pulse?
I'm waiting for the inzone buds review👏👏
WOW! After i heard everything you have said, i was thinking about to buy this headset! BUT!!!!!! At the end you said this is similar to Stealth 700 gen 2! I HAVE THIS HEADSET AND I HATE IT!!!!!!!!! Im so disappointed right now.... Can you recommend something with good sound and great bass for the ps5?
could you help me im confused between nova 7 and inzone 7 I want to use it for gaming and listen to music which should I get
Great review! Question for you Teche: would you recommend these or the Virtuoso XT’s? I mainly game on PC, but do use PS5 sometimes as well. I picked up the Virtuoso for $209.
I'd also love to know what you think of these vs the Virtuoso XTs
XT's
Mic sounds bad :(
Nah you're just comparing it to his studio mic
Compared to other wireless mic it sounds bad
Wasn't happy with them. I plugged my old ps4 gold headset in and boom perfect sound speech ect. Still best headset I've ever owned

Can I use it in my Xbox as well?
Hi Technee. Would you buy this over the steelseries artic 7p?? Considering you can get them for 180 dollars now
I bought the arctic 9 a couple months ago. Those sound the same as my ps3 wireless headset. Yes the ones that came out back in like 2010-2011.

I know sound is very subjective but you love the epos h6pro and I tried that 2 days ago on ps5 and it was shockingly shite, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Curious, what is your preferred headset?
So you can save the EQ to the H3 dongle but not the H7 dongle? Weird decision Sony.
I thinks it’s because the PC/PS5 switch on the dongle
Great review. Quick question techne if you could have a pick over the turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2 max or the audeze penrose x or the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 + SuperAmp which would you pick for xbox?
Penrose x for sound qual purely
just caught these on sale for $150, can't wait to see how they sound on ps5.
How are they? Thinking of getting a pair. Can you customize eq on ps5 with these?
You should review H9. They have different earpads and sound quality from the H7.
As far as I know, the sound should be the same. The noice cancelation, leather earcups and smaller battery are the only differences.
Not worth it
The H9 were tempting but I went with the h7 instead. The noice cancellation would consume more battery and just not worth it for me.
