The Drift Queen of The Compound giving us some truck content let's go can tell your stoked and the C10 is coming out sick cant wait to see more great work 👍
My first vehicle was a 68 C20 farm truck. It was the most amazing first vehicle. Now building a wild 82 s10. Trucks make the best resto mod projects. Great build.
I have always loved this model; the 67 - 72 is my all time favorite vehicle. My first car was a 69 C10 but I have had several, along with a 67, a 70, and a 71; I have, also, owned Chevy and GMC, in this body style. I have even had a custom plan for one, for over ten years. I hope to get started on that, soon, now that I am retired.
@@KSwapTheWorld69 My plan is the same. No one has ever put the ideas together, that are my goals. Some have tried parts or pieces but I can't find them all in one early model truck ...... It was, definitely, never a factory option. Mine is just taking a while to get things in order. It looks like it will be self funded so I am researching and evaluating every option to be sure I am getting all the best.
@ColleteDavis can't wait to see how the BMW will be done. Seriously, your paint skills are next level. Good luck for next season drifting, and I hope we get to see you in FD in a few years battling adam
Truck videos will always do well on UA-cam because people can relate versus a drift car. I remember the Dodge Viper Truck videos had lots of views. They were very good.
Here's me thinking the floor ain't that bad, as I'm always watching DD Speed Shop videos. 🤣Floor Pan Dan would probably have that sorted in an evening. Looking forward to the rest of the C10 Content! 😁
I have been looking forward to this build I have a 69 C10 and getting ideas for upgrades and possibly pricing for those upgrades Shure wood help this guy out in the long run. I've been doing research for the last couple years while I was going through the motor and having the transmission gone through. Honestly this was a great video and thank you for putting it out for us. Keep up the good work and awesome content. Also with as much play as you have in the steering you might want to replace the steering box as well in my 69 it was really loose like that as well until I put a new box in it.
You should be in Australia 🇦🇺 now.. the supercar 500 is on in The Gold Coast and they have just added drifter to the super cars track!!!! You and Adam would kill it here!!!! Luv your work!!!!!!
Yaaay, Nice to see you back in the shop. your dogs are so cool..i have a shih tzu and a chihuahua and a bichon and chihuahua cross.....they are such cool pets.
I'm watching this now i missed it yesterday, but i have a 69 c10 that THE WORLD ISNT READY! Keep up the good work! Aaaaaand "Can I pet that dawg?" 17:58 Pete For President! Lol
Cool Vid Collete.New sub here all the way from South Africa. Btw, Ive done a few of those c10s over the years & put Toyota 21R 5spd boxes on them...Its super easy
Those arms on the bottom of your stock column are for a three speed column shifted manual. You truck was four speed swapped at some point, or that column was swapped in at some point.
Love the truck even as is, Manual 454 short cab with long bed? It's exactly what I would go for. Can't wait to see how this build goes and what it's like with your changes to it.
Considering that the truck cab is as rotted out as it is (and not just the floor), you might want to consider getting another truck cab. You could try finding a used one in good condition or buy a new one. Dynacorn Classic Bodies sells brand-new reproduction truck cabs. I checked the price on it and it's like $9,000 which is a bit steep, but at least you'd know that you're getting a brand-new cab. Either way I'm excited to see the rest of the build and can't wait to see how the truck turns out.
I couldn't tell if you were pumping the gas or not to try to start the C10. If you were not, when the truck has been sitting more than a couple days, give it 5 or 6 pumps of the throttle before cranking. Crank for a few seconds, if it still doesn't start give it a couple more pumps then try again. Should fire right up after that. Carbureted cars need a little coaxing to start. If it's only been a day or two, two pumps and crank it over. Great video as always!!
on those old carb cars u gotta give it gas when u start it and then even pump the gas some before you even start it if its been sitting for a a couple days
If you want your C10 to handle and be sorted there's no better source then the crew at Level 7 really. They do consulting too you can just call and make sure you're getting the right stuff.
Hey I dont think i have commented on youtube before but that c10 looks a lot like my dads 70 after he died Cyrus Took It and rebuilt it and it looks a lot like yours i just wanted to say that because seeing that truck made me think of him make sure you put a loud duel exhaust on there for him he loved loud cars 😢😢
You can get rid of the squeaky ness with some spray oil like wd40 or spray greese or penetration oil what ever you have spay it up around the pedal assembly on the moving parts 😂
I haven't always watched your channel as I came from LZ, but that truck is AMAZING! Great find, and can't wait to follow your journey on it. Just PLEASE don't paint it PINK lol ;)
Great to see you posting again but it is obviously old footage given that you posted a while ago that the Corvette was sold and this footage has it in the background. It would be great if you kept your postings in order and a bit more up to date.
If your truck is a 3 speed or was then there’s a good chance that bracket piece on the column could’ve came from a 3 on the tree shifter that failed and was replaced
so glad the c10 is finally getting some mods! its such a cool and unique build for your channel and I'm excited to see it! still love the orange too
That truck is going to be so badass
I love it !!
@@ColleteDavisthat piece at the bottom of the original steering shaft is the column lock if I’m not mistaken
@@richgwozdz8580 thats a clock spring for the wheel i think

Love that your back working on the C10, I have a 67 C10 with a 3 inch roof chop and flip front end & a 1972 GMC 4x4 Sierra Grande
My first vehicle was a 68 C20 farm truck. It was the most amazing first vehicle. Now building a wild 82 s10. Trucks make the best resto mod projects. Great build.
Beautiful truck. Can’t wait to see more and it’s fun to watch when your as excited about the project as you are with this C10 🎉

Thanks. If I ever get the parts together, I will be posting the build.
Great work I like the upgrades. The floor wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
I love how excited you are about this build! Cant wait to see it finished!
Always has been my favorite generation of trucks. My first car was a '68. Keep the content coming.
I can't wait to see what it looks like and how much more comfortable you're going to be behind the wheel once you put the Collete Davis touch on it.
I'm sure you could move a lot of chickens with that thing!
I sure can! Haha
Can't wait for the Miata build. C10 is sweet also.
Hell yea! Sweet truck. I have a 81 c10 here in tampa.
Good to see the vette in the background but sad its gone as the paint job on it was mint
I know :( I’ll paint another one!

Those are some serious mods! Should make a huge difference!

That is my favorite year of trucks.
Hi Collette great job on the video thank you for everything you do your the best 😍
Your truck was a factory column shift that was converted to a floor shifter and they kept the original column instead of swapping it out
Had no idea! Ha
The whole time you were starting the truck I was like pump the gas lol
Here's me thinking the floor ain't that bad, as I'm always watching DD Speed Shop videos. 🤣Floor Pan Dan would probably have that sorted in an evening. Looking forward to the rest of the C10 Content! 😁
Hell yeah, C10 time! Honestly thought it was going to be back on the channel when you had Lacey on
Miss her. !
She’s my truck inspo 🫶
Finally it's been awhile since we've seen your shop
Love this! Looks like you have some ankle vents to take care of eventually :) Enjoy working on it, overall, it's still a pretty truck.
Looks like some nice upgrades.
I love watching ur build videos and I love the C10 truck
🔥🔥Notification squad 🔥🔥
Ayeeee 👏
Can’t wait to see what color you choose this time! Like Florida color something ❤❤😊❤😊❤❤😊😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤
Just proud u'r keeping it manual, I like an I6 3 on the tree, but it's just way too slow for modern conditions 😊
"Three-on-the-tree" colum shifter!

Chop the pillars to lower the roof and/or section the frame to bring the body down. Ooweee
Badass c10
Would love to see you send your drag car (if you still have it) over to Cleetus to get it fixed and dialed in. 👍🤞
3 on the tree honey!
Collete I would recommend getting a Holley terminator efi system for that truck. More reliable than old carb set up
Nice video !

The state of that miata lol

Golden star in Texas you can get a brand new fresh sheet metal cab
That thing on the bottom of the steering column is for column shifting
The truck is so clean for how bad the floor is but i guess thats to be expected on any vehicle this old.
If you want your C10 to handle and be sorted there's no better source then the crew at Level 7 really. They do consulting too you can just call and make sure you're getting the right stuff.
You need the Automotive Passion Aero kit for your TTrs
If your C10 has a carburetor on it pump the gas pedal 3-4 times before starting it when cold.
My name is Pete too. Tell rePETE i said what up! 🐶
i'll take classic car/c-10 videos over all the JDM stuff all day. i got a 65 Buick Riviera i been working on for about 5 years
The truck needs a ball shifter even a Hurst some more modern wheels the 90s hotrod look just steals the beauty of these truck.
C6 in the background at the beginning of the vid and e46 in the background at the end
Maybe swap out the headlights for some round ones
I feel like we need the c10 pulling the old orange drag car to the strip as a thumbnail

These are special trucks 🙏 I hope seeing it brings you good memories of your dad 🧡
Finally!!!
This C10 is gonna be an even better truck if it's completely modded
You can get rid of the squeaky ness with some spray oil like wd40 or spray greese or penetration oil what ever you have spay it up around the pedal assembly on the moving parts 😂

Trucks going to be cool do they do a gas pedal looks out of place with the new brake and clutch Pedals would definitely finish it off
Next: Positive traction rear differential. (Make those donuts even better).
FINALLY!!! 😜😆

Haha welcome. And it’s staying orange ! But honestly now that you mentioned a pink truck, I kinda like the idea 🤣😝
@@ColleteDavis oh no… the pink monster is coming out 😂😂
@@ColleteDavis 90's minitruck stripes in pink would go with the orange, I guess, and It's got 90's wheels too, so why not?
Oem clutch assembly goes for a good penny ! Should sell make some money back

hey collete how long you been doing cars builds i love the builds you do and adam as well
would look so much better with a 1967 grill IMHO, I have one if you want it
You should keep the steering wheel that’s in it just clean it up and make it look nicer
when are you swapping out the 4 cylinder for a v8 in the miata? it would be an epic build.
Yeah, buying a ls conversion kit and dropping in an engine is so epic... 🤷♂
Later need to replace all the rusty panels and give it that full repaint 🙏
Did you pump the gas pedal a few times before trying to start it? You need to do that with cars that run a carburetor.
Your truck steering column is for an automatic transmission.
Her hair 😍
Short bed conversion in the future ?
I like the c10 im a contry boy so this is in my ❤
💙
I need the 3 spoke Miata take offs in my life tho
Is it worth while going EFI Carby to make it easier to start. 👍
Crazy exhaust is needed please
