- I was walking during the beautiful summer of 2014 in NYC in Washington square, listening that pure voice and sound, I decided to sit on a bench and record this perfect armony.
A tribute to this genuine group after 10 years from that moment.
Wow i never knew that was big theif. I remember seeing them in the park quite a few times after concerts in the park etc.
There's such a sweetness here that goes along with their music here, maybe it's the matching striped t-shirts, or just thinking of a warm summer day in Washington Square ten years ago, I don't know.
wow imagine this. lucky dude. Like my dad's story of seeing Jimmy Hendrix playing on the sidewalk and gave him a quarter
Not even close to being in the same ball park my man 💯
yeah if ur dad is forreal that story is way cooler tbh
Jimi was a hired and payed musician before his solo career so the story feels a bit unbelievable but I’ve experienced unbelievable things.
yeah except this one's true
@@nigelgeiger6020 Big Thief were only officially active as a group in the year after this video was captured. I think @RussellB means his dad, too, believes he saw Hendrix in his early days.
hours where the birds is such a wonderful song
Read the title and thought someone was gonna steal their stuff
Amazing that such incredible talent is on display and people are just passing by unknowingly. Should make you think next time you pass someone performing on the street!
There a looot of talented street musicians in NYC though
indie music is just sooo attention grabbing lmao
Don’t conflate talent with fame.
this is lovely, everything about it.
amazing. so beautiful.
🥹this brings back so much nostalgia
Wowee Zowee. Thanks for posting this 💜
No that's pavement
WOW so special forreal
This is so cool ❤
this is really cool bit !
this guy filming this is so lucky
thats awesome
Insane you even recorded this!
I miss them
Ahh we all start somewhere:)
i didn't know james kennedy was in big thief!
❤
That gentleman looks really handsome in that stripey shirt
Claudio, do you know the exact date this is from?
Where’s that lady with the metal bottle when you need her?
wtf how were that not mobbed in like 5 minutes?
You’ve been watching too much TV and believing the doom and gloom.
there weren't as many african migrants back then
/venezuelans
So you’re telling me they still aren’t good?
What do you mean?
What I meant was that usually a band improves when you show the beginnings. I threw them on due to interest, and they’re still hard to listen to because any random band at a local pub has more talent.
@@mikechivyas someone who studies at a conservatory, EVERYONE I know in my class sees Adrianne Lenker as one of the best songwriters of the last two decades. You don’t know what you’re talking about. You can say you don’t like it. You can’t say they’re not talented.
@@mikechivythey're just not your thing lol
@@mikechivy Post a video of you playing Simulation Swarm or Cattails on guitar then come back again with your trash opinions lol
what song is this
Hours Were the Birds. It's from her 2014 solo album with the same title!
Isnt this trend over when you sing with your teeth closed?
rename to "cute little plinkity striped shirt fairies"
rich parents money hipsters lol, both rockin 3k+ plus guitars in the "beginning". their beginning was in their parents bank
Most people dedicated to music can afford a decent instrument in their mid to late 20s, either by buying used or scraping cash together. And even if you're right, what difference would it make? Cry about it
Idk why but could you imagine going to a black families cook out and they’re playing this? Me neither.
What a strange comment….
@@coltonfagundes5755 And yet so true. That’s the weird world we live in.
These children turned to drugs and life on the streets. And for what ❓ for 15 minutes of fame, bad hair cuts and worst decisions. Smh i am praying for or you both
lol. they are grammy nominated artists multiple times over now
@@quintinpace1541 they on that fetty. I saw them in Portland nodding out on a wash board. They is on that fettynal.
@@Former_Employeesounds like you’re on fentanyl, friendo
so true mi hombre
Dude really woke up, saw the most adorable video of two talented musicians and commented something as unhinged as that
love those jean shorts on her...music was nice too.
