The magneto is a nice touch. I don't remember straight axles having radius arms back then, they were mounted to leaf springs....very strong.

Hey Vinny, gasser is looking good, I glued the wheels together after I make the fit , I sand it on the inside so I don’t sand off the bead of the rim, thanks for sharing

I always glue the wheel halves together. I recently finished an off-road truck model that has a serious problem where the tires fit too loosely on the wheels, and come loose. I boxed the model and put in the "pile of shame". Might bring it back out if I find a decent set of offroad wheels and tires. 🥺

For rims that don't fit well in a tire I will sand the chrome down around the inside circumference staying away from the outer lip until they fit well. I will sand the back sides of the wheel to remove the chrome and glue that to the inner rear portion of the rim.
I also sand the outside of the tire so they look worn and used.

Good morning Vinny. I do same as you. I file down then glue. I also spend a lot of time swapping from parts box fit. My main goal is to not have outer rim gaps.

They did a bunch of awb kits that share parts with that one nova, nova wagon,cuda, Corsair, tempest. Falcon cutlass etc

I built my Chevy Chevelle and my Chevy II nova in four days. The paint took the longest,except my engine came with the belt and pulley’s???
