I used the old Detail and Scale book for the USS Forrestal (CV 59) to correct the Italeri kit of that ship because their were quite a few problems with the model. Did you use any references for the Saratoga for any issues you may have found with the kit? You are doing a great job!

Nice builds Vinny. My 66 Caprice had a 327 in it. Love that engine. That car had no problems going over 100 mph. But alas, Mopars rock. (125 Rods).

Neat builds. Vinny! For future reference, if you want to match paint go to an automotive paint place and have them mix up the color you want. You can even get them to put the paint in a rattle can as well. Happy New Year!!!

Good looking cars Vinny. Paint is excellent on all 3. I had a simular experience when I was a teen, My 1965 Impala SS was kicking ass against Camaros and Mustangs. When a guy pulls up in an Opel Manta, I figured it would be easy money. Boy, was I wrong. Like you I was running high 12's low 13's. Well, that Opel blew my doors off badly! Lost $50.00 that night. The Opel had a balanced and blueprinted 4 banger that he claimed was putting out 430 HP.

I'm a US Navy vet too, in my second hitch - 1980 - 1986. My first hitch was Airforce - 1976 - 1980. Took me awhile, but I built two aircraft I worked on, the Convair F-106 Delta Dart. Found the custom decal sheets with proper markings. Both were used for the "Six Shooter" program to equip the missile-only Dart to carry a 20mm Vulcan gun pod. Also built a 1/700 model of my Navy ship, the USS Ainsworth FF-1090, a Knox Class ASW frigate. 😊
