Haven't played MP since Cold War. My K/D was all over the place. One match it could be a very average, but respectable, 19:15 or someghing like that. But the next game it could be 7:23. SBMM is not working the way the devs wanted it to, but the devs don't get teh feedback they need to do something about it. 15 years ago, there were actually structured criticism. They would tell the devs that it wasn't good, what made it bad, and maybe even how to fix it to improve gameplay. Today it's just "Game sucks." and nothing else and then they say the devs don't care. Yes, the game is trash, but you actually have to tell the creator WHAT is wrong and not just that something is wrong.

@@XenobiologistB5there was streamers for bo1, bo2, and even infinite warfare and pre bo1 had some streamers as well and it was nothing like this I personally blame warzone
SBMM is the main reason why battle royal games are still so popular in my opinion. Its due to SBMM having limited control in such large maps, random spawns, random drops, and large numbers of players. It leaves some of that old school relaxing feel of games. That randomness of players. Sure SBMM made BR games more sweaty but there is significantly less control you can have in a BR game then say a COD Death match map.
My only issue is i genuinely can not see the enemy 90% of the time. The multiplayer this time feels much more tuned towards camping then actually running snd gunning like the old days
I haven't had an issue with seeing an enemy at all so far, it honestly feels easier than any other cod for me that I can spot players 50+ meters using a 1x no problem and the gameplay has been very fast with omnimovement
Dude most of the maps are so small and you move so fast that you could get from one side to the other in like 15 seconds max. There is nowhere for camping because the second you kill someone you have to run away before they come back and kill you
I’ve been playing fighting games a bit more lately and I’ve been thinking about sbmm, I just think they need to balance it because it will either send you to faze tryouts or a nursing home, no in between. There should be enough players for the sbmm to be stricter
As someone who only plays fighting games online, I don't understand why skill based matchmaking would result in what's described here. If I get a double perfect in sf6, the game isn't suddenly going to match me against Punk or whatever.
@@teiten3806people don't want to have to constantly sweat when they do well for one or two matches. The reason shooters used to be fun is because you'd have a decent mix of people every match. It made things actually interesting. You never knew what type of players you'd get matched up with. I've never been the best at shooters and every time I play any cod it's annoying because I'll play two good matches and next thing you know I'm getting absolutely destroyed for the next three matches because the game assumes I'm a pro. It's both annoying and way too predictable. They just need to keep sbmm in ranked and let the casuals like me play whoever.
@@rubenjacobs334 i wasn't talking about fighting game sbmm, but the reason it does that for other games is because they have to gather 6+ people and rather than comparing lifetime stats, how well someone did in their last 10 games and connection. It seperates people based on group based on how good you did in the last 1-3 games, which is present in fighting games but because it actually bases it on you and your enemy's stats its a gradual increase rather than being put into an entire new skill group
@@teiten3806it’s not even that. It’s not even about having to be placed with sweats. It’s that the matches are predetermined and it’s been proven. There is no randomization. The fact that it disassembles the lobbies after every match, placing the players with new players is really stupid. ITS FIXED
Statistically, even without realizing it, people do in fact play more games and for longer with skill based matchmaking than without. Activision blizzard did a test where they, without telling anyone, had some players on a SBMM system and others not, and unarguably the SBMM players played more and for longer sessions.
I think thats flawed logic. The reason for playing more is because people often want to leave off a good time not a bad one. With SBMM you have a system that creates "sweaty" games all the time. Now people on SBMM may play longer on the days they are playing but overall I bet people play less in the week because gaming becomes more stressful then relaxing. Who wants to come home from school or work to be getting angry at a video game? You want to relax with mindless entertainment.
Yes but the issue is that only covered play time and not did people enjoy the time personally I think a simple skilled mode and a non skill based mode would make everyone happy see which one wins out (I have been out of the loop and if this is how ranked is going to work forgot the majority of that past clearly naming of with and without skill based matching)
The idea is that the top players would be distributed across all public lobbies so every lobby has players of varied skill levels. PubStompers have existed since the inception of online games, but SBMM has not
Yea but that’s pretty rare, you’re not consistently being matched with the same 200 people. Back in mw2-BO2 you would find these god like players and most of the time you would stay in the lobby because they were seen as a challenge and something you can train your skill on and learn from. People that make excuses for sbmm have never played without it.
Hit detection / netcode is really bad this year too. I got death cams showing me hitting someone multiple times making the damage sound of flesh, but no hitmarkers or any actual damage and they turn around and 3 tap me
What happened to connection based matchmaking… usually 50/50 good and bad players and with like 1 maybe 2 sweaty players, plus little to no lag with connection base. Perfect
The problem with this mentality is that if you're not experiencing any sweats, that's because you're the best player in the lobby. Making you the sweat. Its unavoidable, if you dont want to be matched up with good players dont get good at the game lmao
That's honestly how I kinda feel tbh since I started playing back ops 6 I only really ever got a unfair match maybe 1 out of every 15 or so games with most of them being fairly balanced usually cuase I just stick to only sweating maybe once in a while
Some people just can’t be honest and just say their bad at the game some people just have got it and its cool go an play a private match with some bots and have fun 😂🤣
that’s not the point, it’s about getting into matches with teammates and enemies that are around your skill level and makes it more balanced. you win some, you lose some, but no, most skill based matchmaking games put you up against sweats because they’ve concluded that you’re a pro after one or two above-average matches
So instead of sweaty people (theoretically) contained within a certain bracket of skill your solution is to just throw them into random games of people of differing and on average lower skill with loose sbmm? Seems counter productive to the idea of making the game less sweaty.
To be honest, SBMM can try to make entire lobby be exactly same skill level or try to make teams roughly equal...one of them will feel incredibly sweaty while other will feel way more fun and organic
@@ZealothPLbro I only get thrown into teams with players of my skill level against coordinated teams that literally live off cod. It's crazy, it's not just I who doesn't stand a chance against these SBMM sweats, but also my team. COD will never change. Its the reason i went to Battlefield and havent looked back. No spawn trapping, no stupid matchmaking, bigger and more immersive maps. Its leagues above COD.
Can confirm. Ex Iridescent player here…3.2 KD…I get 2 or 3 good games where our squad rolls the competition for back to back wins, then we spend the rest of the evening playing against players that are seemingly 3x better than us. I have zero interest in BO6 multiplayer at this point.
No shit you got a 3.2 kd. I got a .90 and I’m still fighting people who have 2kds. Only way I found a way to beat it is to never slide or do cool movements, doing basic movements just walking and shooting got me easier lobbies I think they track it. Also keeping your kd under .50 is another way.
@@SPatel-hf9nt No, my friend - I'm an ex Iri and have a 3.2 KD in RESURGENCE. I only have a 1.17 KD (and dropping) in BO6 multiplayer because I'm getting eviscerated by prestige 1/2 ultra sweat squads every time I play. I literally can't even rank up my guns. They stack in multi lobbies just like in Resurgence Ranked on Rebirth Island. Every time I round a corner, there's 4-6 enemies team shooting me in the face. They know every head glitch, every common/secret path, spawn points, meta, etc. I've already sweat some of my life away in Resurgence Ranked and pubs matches over the last several seasons. Was hoping for a fresh start and maybe just ENJOY the game for once, but NOPE...it is a fight amongst god's every time in multiplayer and I'm getting deleted if I'm not holding a head glitch. A push against the enemy team through any path is greeted with a hailstorm of team shots. Ya'll can HAVE BO6 multiplayer...I'm good. lmfao
Simple answer is to add an invisible ranking in pubs matches, so that the better you do the better players you play, but with a wider variable cone than in ranked playlists.
This is literally how it works, that's exactly what SBMM is. It's what virtually every competitive game does. This guy just doesn't understand. Turning off SBMM just feeds timmys like him to the grinders.
This problem isn't going away even after they add Ranked. Non ranked Playlist will still have SBMN crancked to 11. And there are only 2 ways to somewhat avoid it. Either get into bot lobbies or spend ton of money at the store (yeah its not SBMM, its actually EBMM).
Yeah and I feel like the problem is that the casual gamers who dont watch UA-cam content about COD will never know that there is SBMM unless a friend tells them and even then they won't mind it because they play too little to notice. Im also willing to bet those casual gamers are making up more and more of the purchases of the game and microtransactions. I'm honestly surprised to see as many of the veteran players of COD still playing the game. I gave up a while ago, but I'll come right back if they get back in touch with their roots.
Hold up. Doesn't sbmm make it that players at the same skillset play against each other? Wouldnt that be good for casual players who don't want to play against people who don't touch grass.
That’s fine but that doesn’t mean every implementation of it is equally positive for players, and this is a problem of CoD’s implementation specifically.
Some games do well with skill based matchmaking. Cod isn't one of them. Cod is a killstreak based shooter. How are you supposed to get any killstreaks when you're constantly fighting for your life against people of your level or better. Getting a nuke, which is 30 kills is near impossible now. You're not rewarded for your skill by getting high killstreaks anymore, you're punished by being out in harder lobbies, forever leaving high kill streaks out of your reach no matter how good you are
According to the ones who installed the program. The real reason for it is simple. Free market is pretty much dead. They know people wont go anywhere. And the main goal of SBMM is to sell skins/market items which it does far better then anything else. How does it do this? Here some examples.. Say you never play games.. Well SBMM gives you bot lobbies to make you feel good so you buy items. Say a new market item comes out.. Guess what you will be dying a lot to? You will see players higher skilled then you be placed in your lobbies with those market items or you be put in lobbies that you are made to lose on purpose. They control spray patterns, bullet recognition and all sorts of tricks to make a player win or lose a fight. The patents on SBMM are wild and filled with all kinds of tricks like this. Much of SBMM is based from addiction and gambling. It gives a little to keep you going. Do players play more per day they are on? Probably because who wants to end on a crappy round? However.. I bet the total time played in a week drops because games are far less relaxing then they used to be when you fought players and not a system. However.. 100% more market items are bought due to this frustration. Players suffer = more money. That is why SBMM is a thing. It got nothing to do with making games "fair" or "fun"
But it is done in a much better way else where. MMR systems have done pretty well in most games that use them. (CSGO, Dota, LoL). CoD is just been raped by activision for years. Its over, it will never be like it used to and blame that on greed.
@@astolfo4346Both games have pretty similar matchmaking in my experience atleast. Lobbies that are usually one sided stomps in what are basically 2v5s because the game needs to "balance" the lobby by handy capping one side or the other. Siege is just like that because the algorithm doesn't work in a queue pool that can have golds and champs queuing together whereas COD is like that by design.
The best way to combat this (imo) would be an option at the start of the game that asks, "Are you gainfully employed at a 9-to-5 job or just work in general?" If yes, you don't get put with sweats. Also, if you log less than 24 hours a week in-game, you don't get put with the play-all-day group or kids.
The problem is the game itself in this case. Omni-movement is a sweats dream. It rewards hyper competitiveness. That's what COD is leaning towards now.
@clayhunter2572 no proof I should of stated it not as a fact however the match quality slingshot back and forth through out play. As if it is Hyper sensitive to the most recent data instead of a grander scale look at all of your stats.
I swear man, first couple matches I was like “man this really feels like the old days of cod I’m just chilling running around have a good time” next couple matches and I’m getting 360 no scoped and spawning on top of Semtex’s😂
They can have sbmm, but it's gotta be super loose. It's waaaaaay too strict and most players should be able to play against each other. The only ones who should rarely match up together are the worst of the worst players and the best of the best players. Pretty much everyone else should be free game.
That's why I love the fast paced clusterfuck that is Titanfall 2. I unfortunately feel like the population is slowly dying and que times are getting slightly longer, but any game I play it's hilarious af, and with no actual popular content creators playing TF|2 there aren't really that much "sweaty" players. The game does require a base amount of movement tech to be learned, but after. a 20min video, and a couple of hours in game, it became habit, to the point that I unintentionally perform the basic strafe movement in other games too, and it arguably makes me slower in those.
this is super true. I got the game like 1 week ago and I'm playing people that are like 3x my skill and predicting my every move. it gets really annoying when your doing well and then get people who grind the game 24/7
It's weird because I used to think people were sweats in BO1/2 but these new ones seem even more sweat because of the crazy movement systems players can do. It's like how we all complained about not having "boots on the ground" when every cod at one point was future and since we've come back from space, the movement systems became crazy
As a 29 year old who's played cod for to long, "sweats" used to be called "tryhards", and "tryhards" were shamed and shunned during and between matches and now its the normal.
SBMM is not the issue, people just dont understand how statistics works, if you got a 9-5, just play 2-3 matches and get your data more stable then one great game, 2 matches with a 2.6 KD is nothing compared to 45 matches with a 1.8
I find it so funny that is the first thing people say “bro I work a 9-5 I don’t have time to play the game” if you are good it really doesn’t matter how much you play it…your going to be good
I used to get around that issue by getting really good with a riot shield and throwing knife. Puts sweats in their place and makes them rage hard. Extremely funny hearing them crash out.
the best solution to SBMM (aside from the one in the video) is averaging out your skills, if you suck ass for the last 7 matches, then it slowly lowers the bar rather than having it jump up and down because of you doing well in 1 match
Yeah its absolutely wild going a few matches at 44 - 7 only to then go 10 - 31 the next few matches cuz the opposite team is one shotting us to the dome the moment we're in view
There should be a casual matchmaking, where you get anybody from the person who has 1 hour of play time to the guy who never left the house, and ranked matchmaking, where your you are met with players based on your current level and comp rank
The only thing that actually seems sweaty is some people in hardcore. Core matches you can easily pull 60+ kills and win even- especially- on modes like dom and hard point, while still capturing the obj
Maybe instead of basing your skill based off of one or two matches, SBM would track several of your most recent matches (like four of five) and bring you up a "tier" to folks on your similar skill for a few rounds. It's not fair that someone can do a little better in one match than what they normally do and then go up against professional tournament teams the next. Or, depending on how well you play, the more "active" and "skilled" players in a match would get a boost to their XP causing their level to skyrocket. The ones with higher levels would be given the option to then play with high levels or low levels, with playing against highers giving more XP. If someone is too sweaty against lowers, then they are booted to either fighting more experienced players or locked out of playing against folks lower than them for a period of time
Also games are typically way less sweaty and more enjoyable in the early morning hours. The other day I played some battlefield 1 at 9am because I was off work, was elegant and clean fun gameplay. Hopped back on with my friends at 9pm and there were the modders, sweats, cheaters, etc. The goblins come out at night
I suck worse and worse as the years tick by, so inget a frw good games in before i tossed in with the sweats, then get a few more good games in before placed with the sweats. Not the best nor the worst lol

Get better at the game or maybe get glasses

It’s just that people don’t want to play people their skill level for some reason
So because they said it it makes it true?
I think thats flawed logic.
The reason for playing more is because people often want to leave off a good time not a bad one. With SBMM you have a system that creates "sweaty" games all the time. Now people on SBMM may play longer on the days they are playing but overall I bet people play less in the week because gaming becomes more stressful then relaxing. Who wants to come home from school or work to be getting angry at a video game? You want to relax with mindless entertainment.
I mean of they show the data of the tests, then it does make it true😂@@mitchleigh2369
People will play for longer if you make a good game.
I don’t understand how people get the mastery camo in 24 hrs, like y’all need some love mate. 😂
Without SBMM those faze players would be in your games anyway, stomping on the whole lobby
But very rarely
The idea is that the top players would be distributed across all public lobbies so every lobby has players of varied skill levels. PubStompers have existed since the inception of online games, but SBMM has not
Yea but that’s pretty rare, you’re not consistently being matched with the same 200 people. Back in mw2-BO2 you would find these god like players and most of the time you would stay in the lobby because they were seen as a challenge and something you can train your skill on and learn from.
To be honest, I feel like this is the same for every game with a ranked matchmaking system.

Relatable, when I lost a game the next match felt like playing against bots and after the match I got into another lobby and it was full of sweats

Stakeout spawn logic be like😂
This is also a problem I have with the Finals, where every game is so sweaty

I haven't felt this and I pop off a ton. I think the gaming community as a whole is just better. Idk, it feels the same as other cod to me.
Its the difference between struggling to get a uav when i play solo, and getting multiple overwtach helos per match when I queue with my friends.
Well it definitely got all the cheaters out of the core playlist 😂
I suck worse and worse as the years tick by, so inget a frw good games in before i tossed in with the sweats, then get a few more good games in before placed with the sweats. Not the best nor the worst lol
Stopped playing CoDs after MW3, never regretted it 😂
Still not fixed. Sbmm is the death of cod for casual players.
