If you're having trouble connecting your wii to the Internet, you may need to allow legacy 802.11b for your router. New routers are too powerful for the wii and need to allow for a lower connection. This is just to get you looking in the right direction. Goodluck!

@@tooshort90 I didn't have any SD cards big enough, so I used my 2TB USB drive. Although, the files ended up getting corrupted from downloading the wrong roms, so I wiped everything before I bricked it before getting someone to mod it for me.

I want to do the dns internet connection method but I'm a little bit scared because I've never home-brewed anything before, I just want to know how easy it could be to brick the wii by doing this method, the main things I want to do on my wii is get ctgp and smash bros universe and the open shop, I've tried to read many articles but none of them state if any of those work on a PAL wii. Hey so I had the same problem this means that you need to go to your wifi routers app (like xfinity) and lower down the power to match with the Wii, as it might be too powerful for the Wii.
I had the same problem I just used a hot spot and both my wii consoles connected to wifi I still couldn't get the home brew channel at the last step I get a black screen with a bunch of words and at the bottom it says error didn't get 200 response Idk what that means
if you think about it the work of developers who made this is beyond words... they made it so easy for everyone... having homebrew channel by just using certain dns and following simple steps and thats it, full potential of the console unlocked
@@ArcaneCastle So I did some research on the internet and found this: Press and hold the POWER Button down until the console powers off. ... Power cycle your wireless router. Power the Wii console back on, return to the Internet connection settings and complete the Internet setup process. Delete the Internet connection you are using and create a new Internet connection. You can also do this with your phone. I'm not joking, I did this too. So here are the steps to doing this. 1. Take the piece of the sd card (the small chip) out and place it on your phone. Insert it were you sim card is. 2. Download file manager. 3. Do what the video says and then proceed to unzipping the file in the app. 4. Once you transfer those steps to the sd, eject the chip and put it back on your SD card. DONE! YOU DID IT, JUST GOT TO GET A USB FLASH DRIVE TO DO THE APPS. HOPE THIS WORKS

@@allisontucker906 to install the apps you need a sd card regular size with a jump drive. He posted a video on how to install some of the apps that will get you the free games. I haven’t gotten to do that yet
Fun fact: I got mine to work using a 2 GB SD card. You can use a USB after Homebrew is installed if you plug it in to the top USB port on the back of the console

great video! i followed all the steps in regards to the sd card method. i was able to put the needed info onto the sd card but once i put the card in the Wii i can't find the red envelope. my Wiis date is accurate so I'm not sure what to do.
The Wii that I was trying to do this on was my only Wii in my house, which is my family's, so my parents thought I was breaking it. They stopped me straight away. :(

Currently all I can really do on my Wii is play Mario Galaxy 2, look at the few photos loaded onto it from years ago, and make miis, so this really helped gain access to more stuff

Quick question: what if it doesn’t show the blue screen and instead shows the regular “Wii network services user agreement?” I did all the steps correctly but it doesn’t show up with the blue screen like yours did for the first way to homebrew Edit) also is it ok if the Wii automatically changes 18.188.135.9 to 018.188.153.009? Or is that not supposed to happen?

My Wii gets stuck on the screen with white text on black background after the my little piney screen it says at the bottom “Cleaning up environment… OK. Finding payload… FAIL. We *may* have smashed it on accident. Hanging.” Can someone help me please?
It did that to me too. I was able to fix it by restarting. I realized that after it fails, when you reload, the DNS Address will be slightly different and won’t work properly. So if you just restart the tutorial then you should be good

The first time I tried it I got as far as the text popping up, it took a few minutes to load then it said network configuration failed and there was an error I unplugged the console and tried again. This time I was stuck at the blue MLP screen for about 20 minutes. I unplugged the console and retried it again, this time disconnecting and reconnecting to my internet since my wii has been connected to the internet. Now I’ve been stuck at the testing connection screen for 10 minutes and idk why it’s not working. Update: I got it to work now idk why it wasn’t before but I just turned off the console and connected to the internet and did everything else with no issues. I’ve just hacked my Wii with the internet method by following carefully on how to hack it and it works. Now I will go on the process of finding a USB because my SD card for Wii games on it. I’ll be using it to back up all my games including virtual console games to play on my PC via emulation
I tried the SD card method, but when check the mail after reinserting the SD card, the letter doesn't show up, I'm wondering if there's anything I did wrong?
For the SD card method, when the red letter pops up on my message board, every time I click on it, it freezes my Wii and it doesn't seem to do anything unless I power off my Wii, can you help me with this?

after entering the dns and trying to activate the exploit, the blue screen does not come up. It still shows the regular license agreement. My console is on 4.3. someone help
great tutorial. I couldn't find the letter bomb, and realized i was a day out. Restarted the console after changing the date and still nothing. I then changed the 8gb sd card to a 1gb sd card and popped up straight away.
For anyone wondering, once completing the tutorial, you can use a USB drive or SD card to load up apps into your Homebrew Channel. Hope this helps!

Idk if it’s my wii or not but the games emulators don’t show up when I plug in a usb or sd card. Any help/ advice / suggestions ?

If you're having trouble connecting your wii to the Internet, you may need to allow legacy 802.11b for your router. New routers are too powerful for the wii and need to allow for a lower connection. This is just to get you looking in the right direction. Goodluck!

@@tooshort90 I didn't have any SD cards big enough, so I used my 2TB USB drive.
Although, the files ended up getting corrupted from downloading the wrong roms, so I wiped everything before I bricked it before getting someone to mod it for me.

I want to do the dns internet connection method but I'm a little bit scared because I've never home-brewed anything before, I just want to know how easy it could be to brick the wii by doing this method, the main things I want to do on my wii is get ctgp and smash bros universe and the open shop, I've tried to read many articles but none of them state if any of those work on a PAL wii.

My Wii refuses to even connect to the internet.
Hey so I had the same problem this means that you need to go to your wifi routers app (like xfinity) and lower down the power to match with the Wii, as it might be too powerful for the Wii.

I had the same problem I just used a hot spot and both my wii consoles connected to wifi I still couldn't get the home brew channel at the last step I get a black screen with a bunch of words and at the bottom it says error didn't get 200 response

Press and hold the POWER Button down until the console powers off. ...
Power cycle your wireless router.
Power the Wii console back on, return to the Internet connection settings and complete the Internet setup process.
Delete the Internet connection you are using and create a new Internet connection.

You can also do this with your phone. I'm not joking, I did this too. So here are the steps to doing this.
1. Take the piece of the sd card (the small chip) out and place it on your phone. Insert it were you sim card is.
2. Download file manager.
3. Do what the video says and then proceed to unzipping the file in the app.
4. Once you transfer those steps to the sd, eject the chip and put it back on your SD card.
DONE! YOU DID IT, JUST GOT TO GET A USB FLASH DRIVE TO DO THE APPS.

I think you are supposed to use the arrows. and a button the cursor (the little hand ) won't show up If I remember correctly

great video! i followed all the steps in regards to the sd card method. i was able to put the needed info onto the sd card but once i put the card in the Wii i can't find the red envelope. my Wiis date is accurate so I'm not sure what to do.

Quick question: what if it doesn’t show the blue screen and instead shows the regular “Wii network services user agreement?” I did all the steps correctly but it doesn’t show up with the blue screen like yours did for the first way to homebrew

@@DiamondBeybladeif it says the actual user agreements you will have to exit and try again, also make sure your Wii is connected to the internet. Hope this helped!

@@IXISTON Are you checking on the correct date? Sometimes the letter bomb appears on the days before.
@@JoshKader29 in the end it worked, just had to restart my Wii a few times and reinsert the SD card a few times

It did that to me too.
I was able to fix it by restarting. I realized that after it fails, when you reload, the DNS Address will be slightly different and won’t work properly.
So if you just restart the tutorial then you should be good

The first time I tried it I got as far as the text popping up, it took a few minutes to load then it said network configuration failed and there was an error I unplugged the console and tried again. This time I was stuck at the blue MLP screen for about 20 minutes. I unplugged the console and retried it again, this time disconnecting and reconnecting to my internet since my wii has been connected to the internet. Now I’ve been stuck at the testing connection screen for 10 minutes and idk why it’s not working.
Update: I got it to work now idk why it wasn’t before but I just turned off the console and connected to the internet and did everything else with no issues. Great tutorial I’ve been wondering about home brewing my Wii for a while.
It gives me an error code:52130 after DNS settings. Tried it three times.
Anyone know why instead of taking me to the blue screen it takes me to user agreements?

I’ve just hacked my Wii with the internet method by following carefully on how to hack it and it works. Now I will go on the process of finding a USB because my SD card for Wii games on it.
I’ll be using it to back up all my games including virtual console games to play on my PC via emulation

great tutorial. I couldn't find the letter bomb, and realized i was a day out. Restarted the console after changing the date and still nothing. I then changed the 8gb sd card to a 1gb sd card and popped up straight away.
