At the end of the day, U missed the soul of the story that it's state division that uprooted the Congress in AP. Our MPs were thrown out, live telecast was shut , doors were closed and passed the unethical bifurcation in the history of republic India. People of andhra was back stabbed horribly for making the sin of giving 33 MPs. As long as we live, we will never forget this and take revenge on Congress in every election by awarding them big 0.
So true. Speaker missed the main point. With bifurcation Congress dug it's own grave. Real winner here is KCR, he played great politics he understood that Sonia Gandhi and others had no idea of state politics. Instigated the people who suffered from nizam government for his own political ambitions started comparing Andhra people to British and nizam and riled them up and few young guys set themselves on fire by listening to him and left their parents sorrows of life time.
Andhra people don't care for Hyderabad or telangana or whatever but KCR projected Andhra people as villains and compared them to British and Nizam. That really hurt Andhra people. all the the Andhra people that settled there are still there still run companies and institutions.
Only difference is two letters before KCR name : CM

Congress split Andhra pradesh for political reasons. KCR got the credit in Telangana and Congress got the blame in Andhra pradesh. As an insider, I am confident that Congress is not just lost last time but is probably gone forever in telugu states. (like in Tamil nadu)

You didn't touch upon the rift between YSR and Congress before his death. Congress couldn't tolerate a regional leader growing bigger than the party high command
Even during emergency Andhra Pradesh gave Congress 40/42 seats. It WAS such a formidable party.

You have conveniently forgotten to mention a few aspects.
1. Congress not only lost but got a drubbing, to be more precise did not even secure deposits in a single constituency.
2. The first time in independent India capital taken away from the state. No capital even today.
3. The people of Andhra did not even have the courtesy of a debate given a party driven by its Italian masters dealing with the division that would put a mafiaso to shame.
4. Let go of Jagan & YSR and look deeper into the rot.
5. The calculated risk was to dole out Andhra “Baba ji Ka tulla” and grab Telengana only to be paid back in the same coin by KCR!

1. I never stated that Andhra Pradesh should have got the Capital Hyderabad, on the contrary, I am glad AP gets to develop a new capital.
so the debate on who built the city of Nizams is irrelevant.
2. It is good the states got divided, that way we get to develop two states independently and not at the cost of one another.
3. It is better for the politicians, because you get two CM's and two cabinets and they are the ones laughing to the bank with the tax payers money (yours and mine included).
4. Bulldoze they did using telenganites lives (none of them are kith and kin of the politicians) to ensure the political careers of themselves and their children.

In my humble opinion it is not a concern for Congress as such but a strong opposition to BJP. Absolute power corrupts absolutely so there should be a credible opposition to BJP. BJP forming a government is good thing for economy but a bad thing for social and cultural aspect.

There are three regional powerful parties only in AP (not considering Telangana) so forget about BJP or Congress narrative at least in South India. Nobody gives a damn about both Hindutva or soft Hindutva match fixers (BJP / Congress).
@@mhadiscientia I never said his synopsis was a bad one. Indeed he explained it brilliantly. But the thing is, you see his videos , which he has uploaded recently. Majority of them are how congress has failed here and there and how they it has to be revived. At this time if he does a synopsis of how the govt has performed would me much better. But I took it as he is actually exposing the failure of Congress as main opposition party and as they didn't let regional leaders from Congress grow shows strategic failure.. and this arrogance of Congress has left it at mercy of other powers in non-Hindi states.
BJP has also failed terribly from its promises and posed threat to communal harmony in Hindi speaking states. Now Modi doesn't speak of "Achhe Din" or shows report card for his achievements. Most of the public sector companies also suffering because of his favour to private players. Demonetisation proved to be a failure. GST wasn't implemented well specially after demonetisation...
Most of the national level media is becoming Modi media (Republic/Zee/ABP/Times Now etc), to the extent that any neutral report seems against Modi or BJP. So let's not fall for it... Most media houses are partially owned by left or right wing politicians so it is upto us to see the news by filtering our the prejudices in narrative.
I personally think Shekhar Gupta is neutral in reporting and doesn't take sides. Although he may personally have political preference, which all have but his way of explanation should be accepted by all irrespective of political ideology.
Only achievements of Modi government seems to be in field of green energy (renewable energy) and special focus on sports (because of Raj Vardhan Singh Rathore).
I personally think a weak Congress and BJP is good for nation, with people having regional aspirations, having different problems according to regions can have their say at Central govt level for policymaking according to the states.
This Andhra and Telangana's political history is so confusing plus the short forms of the leaders make it more complicated.

You are right. Congress lost a lions share of voters bank as they treated YSR son badly. Remember When Janata Dal swept India in the previous elections, the only states remained with Congress were AP and Karnataka. They were the life line for congress for those difficult times supporting the with huge funds. The Congress will never learn and Andhra people hate Congress for the life time for dividing AP and not supporting them financially. Once YSR party come to power, they definitely go with BJP and that will be the trump card for BJP, around 40 seats combine.

Shekharji, it's amazing you never uttered a word on the partition of the state. If there is anything that has scarred the Telugu people in the recent past, it's the totally arbitrary decision to divide up the state against the wishes of the sitting assembly. It spoke more of the feudal mindset of those in Lutyens Delhi than all the hot air that keeps coming out of it.
The Congress lost AP and doesn't look like it's coming back anytime soon.

He is true congress lost a solid 40+ seats. Ms. Gandhi's advisers are to be blamed. UPA-2 is a disaster not only for the country, but also for the Congress party.
You have missed a very significant point as to why Congress is not able to get allies and at the bottom of preferred parties, is due to the sheer arrogance, poor long term vision for a crucial state, and most importantly not listening to their own leaders while making the decision to divide the state. We were left to feel helpless as both the big political parties, congress and BJP were hell bent on dividing the state at any cost. Had congress listened to their own leaders and put in place a proper infrastructure and adequate care of not alienating the people of AP state, the congress would have been in somewhat better position to salvage. But no. Look at what BJP is doing now. They have made AP people to think that they are citizens of some other country and not belong to India. Look at the statements being made by the PM and his senior ministers. The state is made to bleed for its own existence. BJP will meet the same fate as congress. It is not that Congress did not had leadership material. They are all sidelined, no serious efforts to rope in them. Many are credible leaders and dynamic intellectuals. If congress wants to get back they should look to these credible Ester year leadership material plus strong alliances.
My guess is that Jagan and Rao will join the NDA in case of a hung government. And only Jagan if the NDA gets a majority postpoll

He said he wants a hung parliament which makes Congress and BJP come to him for support and he would support them whoever signs for the Special category status for AP. Despite of differences with Congress, he wouldn't mind to extend his support if Congress is ready to sanction SCS and the same with NDA. He made a clear statement saying that he wouldn't bring up his personal differences with Congress as a hurdle for the sanction of SCS. Down south in Telangana and AP, we dont want Congress ever again. Jagan isn't interested to be part of any national alliance now and will never be. U forgot Actor Pawan Kalyan factor in AP. Mayawati has recently met him. He is the brother of Chiranjeevi whose party though got only 18 seats got around 20% votes in 2009, feeding mostly on TDP vote bank, which was one of the reasons YSR (CONGRESS) won the 2 nd term.
Pawan Kalyan has attracts considerable crowds nd has also fielded former JD of CBI AP as a MP candidate. Do not underestimate him
there are quite a lot rumors that the Gandhi's killed YSR. They dug their own pit.

Just Compare INC performance in 2009 and 2019(post result) especially in Chattisgarh+MP+RJ they will gain 30 seats

You didn't mention anything about the blunder that Congress did in the now state of AP regarding the bifurcation. People of AP will never forgive them for that one reason only.

No one watches it any ways 980 views at least he gets some serious views when he reports on common concerning issues.
These days people tag individuals and channels and they follow or ignore as per the tags. Sense of Content is not so important but sense that it fills you with pride, endorses your already held belief and it does not ruffle the feathers. So when people do not look for analysis but endorsements of your thoughts, viewership would not develop.
There is a way though to make content the king - remove your face, rebrand your channels and start showing point of view or analysis from both sides. Shekhar Gupta is still presenting old style journalism. If you frame or prepare your questions already, ask someone else to answer them not focusing the camera at all on yourself but on the person getting interviewed, viewership will change and grow like anything. But these old journalists are like present day politicians. They are narcissistic. They want their share of fame too in any exercise they do. Being anonymous is not one of them.

Shekhar Garu, you have long innings in journalism and well acquainted with the history of Indian republic. Try to distinguish between Pre and Post Indira eras of India and of course of Congress party. INC was established in 1885. Freedom struggle was fought by Indians under the umbrella of inc. and Till 1984 it was Indira Congress beginning from 1967 in all practicalities. India's freedom was safeguarded well till 1984. After 1984 it is Sonia Congress. And first onslaught on Indian democracy was made by enacting Anti defection law which took away freedom of expression for legislators. And also centralisation of power was envisaged by enacting panchayat Raj act. Then in 1986 Indian civil service was hit by reducing age of entry to 26 years. Now through 2+2 agreement indian defence is handed over to America. By handing over biometric data of people of India to foreign companies people's privacy is placed at risk through Aadhar. India's sovereign power over currency was compromised by demonization. So destruction of democratic republic institutions at present is an ongoing process. Of course it reached its culmination during BJP regime. So it is necessary for all to distinguish between Indian national Congress and Sonia Congress to analyse political scenario of India. Promulgating President's Rule with no rhyme or reason when such political icons like NTR (AP), MK (TN) were CMs started the begining of the end of the power hungry Congress Party in South India. Using a South Indian President to usher in Emergency and casting a permanent slur on South Indians was the final nail in the coffin of the INC in South India. It can never hope to revive in both states as can be seen by the penchant for alliance and the almost disdainful number of seats it is allowed to contest.... Ignominy will finally end in extermination!

No they have. Vijayawada is the centre of Visakhapatnam to Chennai or Hyderabad to Chennai. That's the main reason why Vijayawada was developed even though there are no industries or companies.
The traffic in Vijayawada is higher than the traffic in visakhapatnam because of those highways.
Also guntur being near Vijayawada is also one of the main factors. Since there is only one bridge to cross Krishna that's located in Vijayawada
Mistake that Sonia Gadhi did was to believe Telangana Congress leaders who promised to win 16 MP seats if T statehood was announced. this is eventually angered common man in Andhra Pradesh and it is swat away forever. It got 0 seats in Andhra whereas it had won > 18 seats in 2004 and 2009. No signs of big recovery for Congress in 2019 though it gets rise in vote share to 3%

Sirji.. during 2009-10 UPA 2 was facing corruption charges from 360 degrees.. So it was very natural for them not to handover AP to Jagan and also state leadership could not offer a stable govt. On top of this there was Telangana movement. So they were in dock and had to take incorrect decisions. Major blame should go to Jairam Ramesh for his blunders...

Congress has been able to dominate undivided AP, because of strong local Congress leader, who stood equal to the Leader at centre. As expected of Congress, but belied, was the fact that it failed to build up strong local leaders, as the leadership feels terribly insecure. Look at the (vengeful) way PV was treated even after he died. So, Congress can never get its political space back, but by default, handed it over to the third front now.
Telangana & AP more so, are averse to BJP, viewed (unlike in Karnataka) as a communal party out-and-out. Telugu people, unlike in the north, have a broader, all inclusive view of the country - all BJP opportunistic alliances apart.

For the good of Indian democracy, a strong opposition is a must. You must look to project some of these regional satraps to fill the vacuum rather than hang with the dead and defeated leadership.
The only national tragedy is that most of the regional leaders are palegars. They work for their families and not the state and country.

Worst analysis and worst Facts!!! Congress in AP is dead in 1983 itself when NTR formed TDP and Swept Elections 1983,1985,1994,1999 in between only 1989 was won by Congress by very less marginal majorities due to wrong Caste politics by Congress. In 2004 yes it’s Because of YSR and almost 2 decades of TDP rule Congress came to power in 2004 but soon people started loosing faith in YSR due to his Faction Politics. In 2009 it’s because of Chiranjeevi new party which won 18/294 assembly seats it Took Majority of TDP vote bank in Uttarandhra districts, it is also considered to be YSR step to force Chiranjeevi to launch a party as his caste people who are majority in number are strong supporters of TDP in Uttarandhra area that’s the reason soon after disaster results for his party in elections chiranjeevi merged his party into congress for Rajyasabha seat. Or else TDP would have comeback to power in 2009 itself there was very less difference between TDP and Congress In seats and vote% even after Chiranjeevi party in 2009 elections. Due to YSR wicked idea he managed to shift the deciding 6-7% vote bank To chiranjeevi party.
It’s not because of YSR death or for treating Jagan mohan reddy badly it’s because Congress divided AP and granted Telangana which took away Hyderabad. Hyderabad especially CYBERABAD has 80% of Andhra settlers and every one invested their money into it being their capital. But Telangana state formation created many issues so Congress was devastated and was hated, cursed by voters and portrayed it in 2014 elections. As Their Rival Party TDP is still Rock solid all Congress supporters and vote bank shifted their Loyalties to next strong YSRCP as it follows same Congress principles as Its leader and party people are from Congress blood. But TDP Cameback to power in AP for 6th time in 2014 and was in opposition in Telangana to TRS party. Congress got 3rd position in seats in telangana 0 seats and 0.8% Votebank in Andhra Where YCP took opposition in Andhra but was devastated in Telangana where it lost its state party status.
Many people in comments are blaming central government at the time for granting Telangana state.
But I think local congress leaders has to take the actual blame. Instead of fighting with non existent demand of United Andhra movement. They should have made a good negotiation and moved on with new state.
Central government has no hold on it's MPs and MLAs. All rogue leaders.

I like BJP but I don't like a party without good opposition and multi polar politics is what makes democracy better. We need a stronger congress to keep BJP in check.
Congress gave too much into the lobbying done by Andhra industrialist politicians to stop bifurcation. At party's bad crisis times all they did was leaving to other parties to secure their future. If state was divided back in 2010 along with sufficient package to pacify Andhra, Jagan would not have got sufficient time to build his party. Also, by 2014 people would have forgotten bifurcation. CBN and YSR are like Lenin and Stalin of AP's organised corruption establishment and they made holy cow out of corrupt YSR which Jagan encashed later.
Fair analysis. Not clear, whether you are feeling bad for congress or sending out a message for all the parties to built a strong cadre.
