Hi everyone. Just to let you all know we left the island today and are currently driving home to Sussex. We had an amazing time and we were there 1 day short of three weeks. We have a lot to show you. Next episode will be on Saturday. 👍
The black bird with the red beak you saw is called the Red billed chough. I believe it is a member of the crow family. I came across your Isle of Man Tour and it was really good. I loved the overnight stay on the mountain road at windy corner. (Windy corner is named after the incredible winds that the riders and spectators of TT have to cope with!!) I hope if you decide to return here the promenade will be finished!!
Thanks for the info about the bird. There are more videos to come from our Isle of Man trip. That promenade in Douglas will be very smart when it is finished. We look forward to seeing it on our next visit 🙂
New to your channel which I have to say I am enjoying very much. Am binge watching your videos and just wanted to say you come across as a really lovely couple, very interesting and I love how you take care of one another. Keep doing what you are doing and take care xxx
Happy relaxing Sunday morning having found your Isle of Man adventures 😁 This will certainly be going on our bucket list. Thanks for sharing. Love your vlogs, they’re so natural, relaxing and quite funny too “couple of fat ones in the back” 😂😂 Love it!
@@LifeistooshortCK Whoops! Found the comment. Let’s hope he did unsub, otherwise I might get an ear bashing too 🙈 My sense of humour is terrible & I’m a fatty! 🥴
Always a pleasure to watch, but without doubt the best place to view your videos is from the back of our own van, currently in Norfolk. I confirm the bird is a chough. They breed along coastal cliffs and are a speciality of Anglesey where you recent visited. I think they should re-name the ferry Costa-Packet!
Yes it’s expensive and the ferry was very different on the way home, absolutely packed to the gunnels with vehicles squeezed into every space. It’s a monopoly that needs some competition. 👍 Forgot to say, enjoy your trip 👍
Thank you both, you two are the best I have seen, unlike most others which appear to get as much free stuff sent them as possible, and do not show what is around as much as you. Keep it up, you are giving people who can not get out, a lot of pleasure. Thanks Eric
We get offers of lots of stuff to review but that is not what the channel is about. If we get offered something to review that I think might work really well in a small van then I would 👍
I am loving your adventures on the Isle of Man, Carol and Ken.. I took a visit there back in the 90s for the TT Races.. It is such a beautiful island with spectacular scenery.. Thank you both so much for sharing your wonderful adventures with me and everyone else.. They are an absolute joy and immensely enjoyable to watch .. ❤️🙏❤️ Love from Jackie and Teddy.. 🙋♀️🐕🐾🐾❤️
Glad you enjoyed your stay on the island. While in Douglas this morning I saw the little red camper drive past. You must have been on your way to the ferry.
My goodness, I am so pleased to watch your Isle of Man trip as I am not able to get back there yet due to travel restrictions. I am glad to see that I haven't missed much in the last two years except the ongoing Douglas Promenade works. Lovely to see Laxey and I hope you have more of the Island to show us in future episodes.
Love to follow you guys. You have kept some of us sane during the pandemic by being able to live vicariously through your travels. I can almost smell the ocean! 🌊Have fun🎉
Thank you again for another twenty minutes of escapism and relaxation. The line "there must be a couple of fat ones in the back" had me squirting coffee through my nose! The wife thought I was having a clutcher! Stay safe.
I am getting in trouble for that joke now. I think I will be in trouble a lot going forwards as the world has become far to sensitive for its own good 😁👍
Good morning Ken and Carol looks lovely there nice and quiet no rush hour traffic , I see you drove through Laxey there is a song about the wheel at the old mine the wheel is powered by the Laxey river , its on UA-cam sung by the Stationary Willberrries .Looking forward to more of the IOM it looks a lot like the Antrim coast . @@anotherbrickoutthewall9237 thanks for the tips. We are back home now but I have marked them on my map for the next time we are in that area. Looks like a great place 😀👍
Isle of Man is a Chough stronghold in the British isles with 25% of the population. Which considering how small we are is a testament to the great work done a few decades ago in educating farmers that they weren’t a pest and they just eat insects
Great to see your videos of the IOM, I used to go every year for the TT. My brother and I would put our 2 x motorcycles in the back of his Renault Traffic work van, park up on the promenade in Douglas, get the bikes out and fold down the home made bunk beds, we also had a small cooker and a wash basin, so you see, I also slept on the IOM in a van, lol.
It's 20 years since I was last in the Isle of Man (back in 2001 when the UK was recovering from Foot & Mouth Disease) and I remember walking up to Douglas Head from the Promenade to visit Manx Radio (the big building to the left at 15'04"). Interesting to see the work being done on Douglas prom - the sunken gardens always looked beautiful during the summer. And I see that they have went the way of Jersey and introduced the parking disc system for a couple of hours of free parking (just like in St. Helier). The tourist board used to offer travel passes which for a modest fee (I think around £10) gave you access to all the public transport on the island for 3 days solid (horse trams, steam railway, electric railway and the buses) and it was a great way to explore the island without having to hire a car. Don't know if that is still in operation. Oh, and a nickname I had heard used for the Sea Terminal is the lemon squeezer as it looks a bit like an old fashioned juicer!
Thanks for your comment, lovely to hear all those old memories. The parking disc system works really well and we only had to pay for parking once on the whole trip. The travel passes are still available but they are a lot more expensive now, £34 for 3 days. Love the nickname for the Sea Terminal 😁
Excellent video again. 👍 Looking forward to the rest of your IOM adventure as its a place we haven't been to. I've only overflown it and thought that's certainly on my list to visit. Thanks again 👍👍😎

Laxey was a great choice for night 2……gorgeous village👍💖
We couldn’t believe our luck stumbling across Marine Drive only a couple of minutes off the ferry, what a great park up, The promenade in Douglas will be lovely when it is finished with its grand facade, coastline and the harbour 😍
Another great video, such a relaxing way to see new places, the Island seems very quiet, and what a view to wake up to, take care you 2, regards, Colin.

Really enjoyed that thanks. So relaxing I reckon I could drop off to sleep now here in bed if it wasn't for that lovely chicken dinner Chutney made. Now I'm hungry! Blast. xx
Did I say I love the Isle of Man? 😀 Seeing your videos makes me want to get back even more. Can't wait until our pathetic government gets a grip and lifts our OS travelling ban. Until then i'll just have to put up with hiking in the wilds of Tasmania. Could be far worse!

Ahoy Pirates! Now, this is something plank-walking good! Arrrg! Briny Deep is at Her most beautiful! Safe travel home! Godly winds! Captain of the good old Blackthorne
Its a wonderful place Captain. Set ye sails for this little gem. There be no cannons left working to fend of ye landing crew. 😁👍
It's looking like I'm going to have to add the IOM to my places to visit if what you have shown so far is anything to go by... another great enjoyable vlog
Plenty more to come William. Make sure it’s on your places to visit list 🙂👍
I normally watch on TV so can't comment so just taking an opp to say I love your channel, good, honest, and real life commentary on life in UK whilst travelling - love it. I have a van but it is my "thing" not husband so my trips are limited. However, I love watching your channel so that I can plan future trips. Oh and not allowed to drive for six months due to a ICD implant -upgrade to pacemaker. So need to coerce OH to drive to to places in aforesaid van.
Thank you so much Juanita. Sorry to hear about your op and not being allowed to drive. Hope you can persuade your husband to take you out in the van 🙂
I've lost a few things on Douglas head! - It's a shame the good weather is coming in now you have left, I know loads of good spots, away from the south. It would have been good have to met you =)
It’s always the way with the weather but we had a good run and it’s also good to see a place when it’s not so nice as well. 👍😁
Great vid looks nice hope the weather clears up all the best donny
Cheers Donny 🙂👍
The bird was a chough. (Chuff)
Thanks Brian 🙂👍
Great video, you are such a good team😁👍
Thank you Anita 😊
Really enjoyed that thanks. So relaxing I reckon I could drop off to sleep now here in bed if it wasn't for that lovely chicken dinner Chutney made. Now I'm hungry! Blast. xx
Sorry about that Tina ☺️ Hope you managed to get to sleep 😴 Take care ❤️
Good to know how easy it is to wild camp in the IOM. I’m getting so geeky now though - I found myself saying “that’s a Rode mic lead” 😆
We loved every minute of the IOM. Correct on the cable. I found a place for it to live now as without it that system is almost useless 😁👍
Healthy eating is possible even in a tiny van, chicken and vegetables looked delicious 🤤 . Great not to have to rely on eating out places.👍
We like to balance eating out with meals cooked in the van and enjoy both 😀👍
Great video as always 👍 beautiful place so relaxed, but what are the fish and chips going to be like lol 😋 till the next one stay safe both 🙌❤️💙🚐🙌
You know us so well! Stay tuned for fish and chips 😊
good vid on your travels stay safe lee
Thanks Lee 😊
@Life is too short
That bird is the Chough this Irish name of this species translates as “red-legged Jackdaw”.
Thanks for that Rupert. This youtube game is making me appreciate the wildlife far more than I ever did. 😁👍
The bird was a Chough
Cheers 👍
Bird is a Chough
Cheers 👍
Bird was a cough 👍👍
Thanks for the info Steve 🙂👍
Are you still on the island as we live here 😀
Sadly we are on our way home today.
Did I say I love the Isle of Man? 😀 Seeing your videos makes me want to get back even more. Can't wait until our pathetic government gets a grip and lifts our OS travelling ban. Until then i'll just have to put up with hiking in the wilds of Tasmania. Could be far worse!
We have never been to Tasmania. Wishing you well for travel restrictions to be lifted. Most of ours have gone now.
