    Daniel shows you how to make a delicious Korean Mushroom Hot Pot. It's an easy, simple recipe for a family dinner! If you haven't cooked for your family in a long time, give this recipe a shot.
    Like any hot pot, the taste comes primarily from the broth. For this recipe, we will use gochujang, gochugaru and deonjang (3 pillars of Korean flavor).
    To that, we will throw in a mix of mushrooms. Feel free any mix of local mushrooms. And if you can find it, throw in some udon noodles :)

    Daniel, seriously you can cook but I watch your video for laughs too!! My hubby walks in and ask, " why are you laughing so loud from a cooking channel"??? Packets of sugar, I love it !!! Keep it real functional!!! You keep me entertain each time. I love your funny, calm and random sense of humor. Thanks for another good receipt 🤗

    Can you show us the label on the "soup" soy sauce. What is the difference between it and regular soy sauce? I don't know where to buy it from, any suggestions?

    • @madisonm9896

      1981cherokee1 check out their pantry essentials video, he talks about it in there! It’s one of their early videos. Like the second uploaded. The soup soy sauce is the first one mentioned. In the description of the video he links to the website where he talks about the ingredients too. Soup soy sauce is much more salty and flavorful and is used mainly in soups, normal soy sauce is used in many many things. You can find soup soy sauce at Asian markets

    Hi Dan-Yul!! The brown mushrooms are called cremini mushrooms or baby Portobello mushrooms. Their flavor is slightly stronger than the button mushrooms and their texture is a little meatier. Thanks for another delicious meal.

      They are, however the same species of mushroom, just as the portobello. It's all just how long they grow before being harvested, similar to bell peppers.

    • @VeVeEm
      @VeVeEm 6 років тому +2

      Chestnut mushrooms. They are the same as flat cup mushrooms only with tanned colouring... The taste is a bit stronger than white ones, yet still milder than portobello. Yes, they are all belong to the same family, only the age is the difference thus the taste.

    I freeze that pot that you threw away from the King oyster mushrooms and put it in what I call my garbage bag to make stock with in the freezer. I add celery and onion peels onion n carrot tops and bottoms and once I save a whole bag it makes a lovely vegetable stock.

    So guys, I went hard with the mushrooms. I'm talking 9 diff types. Because I've never met a mushroom I don't like. Well some are hella strong. Like so so strong. Word of advice, try the mushroom first. Also venture into the Asian market slowly like just pick a few things. I bought all the things and put it all together. Now I'm not sure what I don't like. Maybe shitaki. Gonna follow that recipe next time.

    They are called Brown Chestnut Mushrooms. There's nothing fake about them at all. They are very good for a deeper fuller but softer flavour than button mushrooms. They are very good for your health also. We eat them a lot in the UK and Ireland. Thanks for your lovely mushroom hotpot recipe.

    Hunting down a type of mushroom I had with my boyfriends parents in korea 🤔we went to a mushroom hot pot restaurant in incheon after church and it was the most delicious mushroom I’d ever tasted. It’s like a flat thin sheet in a coral shape... no idea what that was 🤤
