I don't think the Nintendo Directs will be permanently over, I'm pretty sure they are just taking a break from it considering the fact we are getting a bunch of massive games later this year and next year.
I am a bit surprised. If they didn't host a Direct for September...I think they it has a lot to do with reallocating their resources to prepare for the reveal for the next Switch system.
I don’t get why people expected another direct so soon. They never do one like three months after, especially when game announcements have to be sparse, since obviously there aren’t infinite games they could make. I’d rather they hold off the bigger reveals for the Switch 2 and give us a breather to save up for it, but even if the June direct was the last one for major reveals, the Switch is leaving on a high note with a new Zelda, Mario and Luigi and Mario Party.
This whole “omg Nintendo moved up some presentations to focus on switch 2” narrative was so dumb. People made fun of me and other who said it wasn’t a given smh…
@@LinkMountaineeryes it does. The Mario direct gave us the same amount of new first party announcements the average general direct does and it being a Mario direct doesn’t change the fact that we got absolutely nothing in September this year
I can't believe some people are dumb enough to think that just because there's no Nintendo Direct this month means there will be no more Nintendo Directs at all.
We thought the Direct era was over when they had that Mini Partner Showcase instead of a general Direct in 2020. Unless they say they are done with them, I don’t think we are done with them.
You know I hate to be that guy but they did this exact thing back in 2016 where we had no September Nintendo direct and the following month we got the Switch reveal trailer. So maybe we will get a switch 2 trailer sometime next month. I know this may sound like a bunch of copium but it has happened before so it could happen again.
I think the next time we get something on pokemon legends z-a, will be in February on Pokemon day next year. Since we didn’t get any pokemon presents this whole year besides the one that happened on Pokemon day this year in February. I don’t think we will get a pokemon presents next month in October, November, and December. Considering Pokemon tcg pocket is coming next month in October on the 31st. I think the Pokemon company and gamefreak would want to focus on that mobile game. And as for an Nintendo directs, I don’t think we will get a general direct in the next three months. A direct mini probably or maybe, but I think this year is done for a general direct to happen.
@@nightwing2032 well I still have a small sliver of hope that we’ll get something, whether it be a short gameplay trailer at a direct or something at all
@@Cyan1dE09I guess, this year only has three months left anyway. And February is only what 5 months away from now. Anything could be possible, but it does seem unlikely for the next three months. June/August or the summer of this year was their time to have another Pokemon presents after February if they wanted to but it didn’t happen. With the Pokemon vgc championships having in August this year for Pokemon and nothing that happened in June or July either. Why have one now, when the Pokemon company and gamefreak can have a Pokemon presents and more information on legends z-a in February on Pokemon day. Since the game is coming out sometime next year in 2025.
Watch it, a Nintendo Direct in october that says "This direct will reveal nintendo switch games & a surprise at the end that will finally show you our future" and a small word "prepare yourselves for the next system!"
I STRONGLY don't believe that. There will ALWAYS be Nintendo Directs one way or another going forward in the future. If any of you thought that the era of Nintendo Directs are over, you are WRONG.
We will most likely not see any type of general direct until winter of next year. This past parnter showcase and indie world was definitely our "September" direct for the year, despite it happening late August. I say this because something similar happened earlier this year. In February, we had a partner showcase and no general direct until June. The reason it probably happened in late August was to avoid having two directs back to back, and instead just having one massive combination of the two earlier than usual. That's how I see it, but then again the schedule could change with the release of the next console.
You mentioned it was odd for Nintendo to mash up both the Indie World and the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, which is true. I was thinking that maybe there might have been a big gaming announcement within the partner showcase (like a Silksong release date or something like that). Obviously that didn’t happen, but I think the consensus I’ve seen from others is that some peeps don’t watch Indie World showcases as to the general directs or partner showcases. And since both the Indie World and Partner Showcases are usually 20 minutes long each, Nintendo probably thought “why not combine the two to make it a general direct length” and then have the Indie World come on first so then people have to stay for the Partner Showcase. I don’t think we’re done with Directs at all IMO.
Nintendo Directs are not over, i think the reason why we didn't get one this month is because they don't have other 1st party games that is in developpment for the Switch after Metroid Prime 4 and Pokémon Legends Z-A to show us. And the other reason is they want to put all their effort for the Switch 2 so i think we should wait until next month to see if they gonna annonce a Direct or a Switch 2 reveal
I’m not believing the direct era is over, until Nintendo themselves confirms it. I’m pretty sure there is a reason as to why there wasn’t a direct this month
When we got a direct earlier this month, I knew we wasn't getting anything else for the rest of September. Nintendo is saving everything for when they're ready to announce the "Switch 2" so it's best to wait for whenever that happens.

The reason I think there isn’t a direct this month is because they now focusing on the Switch 2 reveal It takes a lot of people to work on these commercials and they also might be working on Switch 2 games trailers.
I mean, the June direct just revealed a new Zelda, Mario & Luigi, & Mario Party + Metroid Prime 4 is coming out next year. In August, we got a combination of an Indie direct and a partner showcase. What else is there to reveal for the Sept. direct? Possibly, a second Pokémon presents should be somewhere in October. Doesn't mean anything for Nintendo Direct to be "over".
there was never going to be any more directs this year after the indie and partner directs, there won't be a direct until January 2025, revealing the switch successor in 2024 will cannibalize holiday sales

With the Switch 2 coming up, I’m not surprised. Let them do what they need to get done. It’s most likely the system is backwards compatible so they might want to announce those games as playable on the new system
I doubt Nintendo will retire the Direct concept. They just didn't have a lot to show, that they didn't already show in June. Just be a bit patient. Nintendo will do another Direct, when they want to show us new games, that will come out shortly after the announcement.
