Loved the video. I have always drove classics. My present daily is a 73 Buick Regal. paid $1200, cost me another $1000 to put it back on the road but I didn't just stop there, I found a set of bucket seats out of a 99 Malibu on Facebook Marketplace for $75, had to fix and recover the dash pad, and repainted the car. I live out here in the Southwest Triangle (Northwest Arizona, Southern Nevada, Southeast California) and the sun just absolutely bakes paint, it was originally brown and I went with a custom mixed Burnt Orange Tractor Paint job. The wheels I just sandblasted and rattle canned them with silver wheel paint and threw a set of cheap Baby Moons on it and went through the suspension with all new bearings, seals, springs and shocks. All in total so far is right around 7k, BUT that 7k is over a 2 and half year time period.
Thanks man. That’s sounds like a rad car. That’s how it is … redneck financing. To me it sure beats traditional financing… plus you have to pay the maintenance costs on a newer car too
Thanks for bringing us along, and putting it back on the road. Would like to see the fuel return repair for the boiling fuel. And I preach this, but swap out those faded sealed beams. And not with garbage leds. I like the GS power h4 housing on Amazon. They are glass housing and they are fairly cheap compared to Hella or Holley RetroBrights. It’s amazing what a clean set of headlights do to any vehicle.
oh man breaking my heart on the sealed beams.. but i ll look into it.. I am going to do a specific video on that vapor lock issue cause i think it will help some folks. i drive these things daily and use the cheapest gas i can get, there are just a few little things that help out, especially with the lower boiling point
Power steering pumps like the Saginaw you have run on ATF by design. The clear power steering fluid you get at a parts store is inferior to good ATF. It foams more easily and contains fewer detergents.
I love those Russell Speed Bleeders, I use them on every thing I can. I do run a piece of tubing off them down into a bottle to catch what bleeds out. Truck is looking good! (maybe spring for a couple more cans of white though… 😂)
hey man, one can was flat one was satin but who is counting... i have a clip on the editing room floor of me saying "i think my youtube buddy aj recommend these..." and it all went south from there ... not a damn one fit.. but brothers has them on sale
I've really enjoyed these videos on this truck, don't know why just something about them. Don't worry, nothing wrong with the other posts there all great. Looking forward to the next one, whatever the content is. Oh by the way how you guys cope with the heat you get, wear ever you live is beyond me 😊 Rock on Tommy Gary 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great video! Glad u dont spend a lotta time showing 1 fix like a lotta channels do. 2 things id address 1 get the fan half in the shroud 2 move the fuel line away from the exhaust. 👍👍👍👍
thanks man glad you enjoyed it... its interesting i had not noticed the fan but its obvious when you point it out... and thank for sayin what you like about it, I am learning I am not much of a how to channel, I am a long winded idiot and you enjoy the journey or you don't, but if you are trying to learn something someone else has a way better video on it than i can make
Brake bleeding by yourself should be pretty easy with a home made bleeder tool. Look up some old junkyard digs episodes in how to build one. Works pretty good.
i ll take a look i do like that channel, the proportioning valves on this generation of Gm vehicles can be a little bit finicky when bleeding so i would love a trick
The harbor freight mityvac tool is great for brake bleeding. Open bleeder, attach vacuum, apply vacuum, add fluid to the reservoir. Let the vacuum pull till you get clean fluid. Close bleeder. Move to the next wheel, repeat.
@tcanthony2 one thing I've found helpful is applying Teflon (ptfe) pipe dope to bleeders. It helps them not suck air under vacuum and makes them very unlikely to ever seize. You also must use the vacuum jar inline. Brake fluid will wreck the pump's innards if you let it get to them.
The tech screws tho. No no no. I spent hours and hours pulling them out of my Land Rover. They weren't holding anything as they lose their grip fast and they did soooooooo much damage. Can we all agree to stop with the tech screws team? You could be the next guy...

that would be swell... good to hear from you again! This one- all the things that make it uncool. the dump bed and rack...the v8 didnt hurt. i am doing a lot of work by myself at this new property i see this being over what i payed for it in help
@@betweenthesharksgarage I always watch you I just don't always comment. I live in dried out southern California so stuff like vine removal I have no experience with it but 1920s through 1970s cars and trucks your right up my alley lol I can also say I got a good amount of experience on reviving wore out homes but you haven't got to rhat stuff yet. Anyways the chevy is definitely a good work truck and the plus side is they are red hot these days so if you decide to part with it you definitely won't get hurt and straightening the doors and dings out make the truck look pretty good. Just an idea that would be a pretty cheap just in case thing, install a battery quick disconnect, not only can you pull the switch when the truck is sitting to keep it from draining the battery but in the event of an emergency you can quickly switch the battery cable to an off or disconnected position and not have to keep the battery cable loose

If you were my neighbor, I wouldn't need any crazy projects of my own. That camper would be off limits, though. That thing needs burning.

"More better", that is improper grammar. You should say: "less worse", me se thinks that's why the battery got offended
