Cam Install On A 107" Harley Road Glide (Battle of the Baggers EP.3) - Vlog 107
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- Lance and Juan finally dig into the 107" while down in Oceanside to install the new Feuling Parts 472 Camchest Kit. Luke and the boys over at Feuling helped them along the way to make sure Juan's Road Glide was as dialed in as it could be before they head back out to the Dyno to put some real numbers behind the upgrades! Is it enough to get this 107" on a competitive level to the 117" CVO? We'll see!

Wow.. they run a tight ship with attention to detail at fueling.. impressed
Yes shout out to fueling. Great video!
Watching this attention to detail makes you wonder if even half of this happens at a regular shops cam swap job
You'd hope so!
fueling just earned another customer. im impressed with the attention to detail that goes on.
We believe the factory plastic lifter cuff makes for a better part than billet. We did make billet lifter cuffs actually our first part for the M-Eights however due to the lifter flats of all available lifters outside of our Race Series lifters, the lifter flats are not precision machined, they vary in width and most are dinged and nicked which make it virtually impossible to get the correct clearance between the lifter and billet lifter cuff. The factory plastic part has a taper due to the ‘draft’ of manufacturing the plastic part, it has good tolerance to the lifter, won’t add additional noise due to additional slop and you don’t have to worry about aluminum material shedding and dropping down the lifter bores and beyond. Unfortunately in this situation we believe the plastic cuff is superior to billet.
Thank you for explaining that! I was also curious why the plastic cuffs were used. Did you reuse the existing ones or install new plastic cuffs? I have a '22 RGST with the factory 131 kit. Purchased used with low miles. What do you suggest still needs to be upgraded besides tune and exhaust? Can you recommend anyone in the MA/NH area to perform similar work and attention to detail with your parts? Thanks TSC and Feuling teams for an informative video -- really enjoyed that!
Interesting. 🤔I was just going to inquire about that choice.
This is the first time I've heard that explanation/reasoning.
I noticed "Star Racing" just started producing/selling their own billet cuffs.
What are your thoughts on the longevity/durability of the stock plastic cuffs?
Any high mile teardown you've done to observe wear?
You headed off about a 100 comments!! LOL (well looking at further comments I see it mentioned quite a few times already.. LOLZ....need to put this in RED in the description...LOLOL). Also, I am assuming that the camshaft bearing was replaced with an upgraded one?? We didnt see "Jims Tool" being used...??? 😛
@@redrider0151 Yes we did replace the inner cam bearing, All of our Camchest kits come with a new full compliment Torrington style inner cam bearing
@@tonydanzl Great question, we’ve had great success with the plastic cuffs, outside of having to clearance them when you get into the 590 lift camshaft range. We use them on our race engines and have yet to see any wear issues 🤘🏻
Totally impressed with and in awe at the knowledge of all at the Fueling Company...sat transfixed watching not knowing a thing mechanically of the teardown and rebuild..Thanks Juan and Lance and Luke and guys for the education.
Thanks for tuning in!
This has to be my favorite video yet. How cool is that cam chest setup! Luke is such a knowledgeable and funny guy. Absolutely amazing work. I am so excited for Juan. Keep the content coming boyz 🇺🇸🤙🏽
Thanks for the love!
The guys at Fueling are so knowledgeable and passionate about their parts. It makes sense you guys work so closely with such an amazing company. Keep growing Thrashin Supply, we love your products and what you are doing for motorcycling.

Cannot believe y’all went back with the stock plastic lifter cuffs.

Glad you enjoyed it!
This was good stuff. Really enjoyed watching that. Thanks Thrashin and Feuling.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Surprised ya’ll didn’t change the factory plastic tappet cuffs

@@FeulingParts Appreciate the feedback!
Freaking teasers lol. I watched that whole thing to just hear the sound lol.
Good stuff!! I went with the S&S goodies on my 117 Lowrider S and a Star racing 30/30 cam, end result, like Juans bike, it rips!!
Great episode! Love seeing this type of video. Can’t wait for next weeks!
Glad you enjoyed it! We'll see you next Tuesday!
Excellent video. Makes me want to but new Feuling components on my bike.
Good series. In enjoying the upgrades
It's not over yet!
very detailed and care taken during this build, this is really nice !
Awesome vlog..learned a ton of interesting stuff, great✌️😊
So much knowledge FOR DA FREE DAWG
Great series. Totally enjoy watching your content. Look forward to all your drops.
TOP SHELF BOYS !!! THRASH IT HARD good looking premium HARDWARE
I was saying out loud when Mr Fueling said 7 guys + six hrs hahah. Right after I dropped the 124 in I wished for 150. So what’s next… Good luck Juan. 😂
A couple of questions:
1. What tuner did Juan use on his bike after the install? V&H Fuelpack enough for all that work?
2. Does Feuling take in customers to do installs 😂😂? They are super detailed and now want them to work on my bike 😊
Great video boys!
Great stuff guys, thanks for the content, happy holidays
Great cam upgrade vlog! Maybe a 2:1 shorty exhaust to complete the Performance Bagger look? 😍🤘😎
Possibly!
Damn thats a lot of work.
I don't know many people who have done cam installs and haven't replaced those plastic lifter cuffs with billet ones. Seemed odd the fueling boys didn't seem worried about it.
I’m sure they got swapped off camera. No way they were going to show installing the competitions parts in the feuling shop on a collab video.
@Ftw_cog I was thinking the same thing honestly but I thought I saw Juan tightening the bolt on the plastic ones during the reconstruction
Star Racing also now makes/sells billet lifter cuffs
We believe the factory plastic lifter cuff makes for a better part than billet. @FeulingParts thanks for the info! Been running your lifters and pushrods for about 12k miles with billet cuffs from the blue guys and it's been great to me
Wow. Great stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Best video of the week 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you think so!
I think every twin cam and m8 needs the rocker arms shimmed , after watching this I know mine do ,I can hear them at low RPM when not up the temp then it goes away .
The little tips and tricks are worth thousands of dollars favorite video so far
in the netherlands its 01:00 but im here hahaha
I'm not a mechanic so bear with me, but why the 472 over the S&S475? Is this cam a low end or higher RPM runner? I am doing a cam soon and want to be educated on my choice. Thanks fellas and love your videos!! Educational and entertaining!! Keep em coming!!
BIG G'day Team Thrashin'& Feuling Parts from Down Under 🇦🇺🖤🧡🖤
Awesome video content & Luke Leatherman (Santa Claus 😂 🤣)knows his stuff, that's going to be one "BULLET PROOF" bike now💪💪💪
Merry Christmas ya filthy animals & ALL at Team Thrashin' & Team Feuling🎉🎁🎄🎁🎉
May all your days be Harley days🖤🧡🖤
Safe travels 🙏♥️🐾🐾🇦🇺
Wish I could find someone who would help me on my bike. I'd do the work. In Texas, they're afraid you might learn something and won't need them anymore.
Juan, if I use both hands, will it feel better? Is that what she said last night 😂. You guys are great.wish I had ya'll skills. Merry Christmas, guys! Happy New Years!
Haha thanks for the love! Have a great Christmas and Happy New Year!
Really impressed by the fueling crew makes me want to throw on a cam on my dyna 🙌🏼💯🔥
Do it!
I am getting the same cam in mine . Can't wait to see the results
Next week!
Chilly 🥶?
Man we riding in 20s and 30s here in the Chi
I’d love to move to Cali
Very good work!!!
Vlog 107 to beef up Juan's 107. Nice!
You know it!
Over here, waiting for it to start let’s go
Soon!
I love the adult humor 😂🤣🤣⚡️
Meh... kinda junior high level humor.lol
lol great way the end the vid! 😂
Great video guys. If possible can you guys give a parts list of what all you installed? I’m sure others wonder this as well. And a general ball park of what it would be to have a shop like Feuling install the parts.
Love the channel, nice work guys. Bing watched all the videos from Sturgis!!!
We kinda pieced it together but the closest thing you can get is the Feuling M8 HP+ 472 Camshaft Cam Chest Kit which you can find for around $1700ish. As for cost from a shop to install, that kinda depends on the shops you have around you. You can always call around and see what they would charge for something like this. Thanks for the love! Stoked you watched all the Sturgis content!
@@THRASHIN thanks for the info look forward to doing this to my bike.
Nice move at the hotel
Dang it, I'm going to have to have their 472 performance kit and breathers in my 21' CVO Street glide
Do it!
i wish i could bring my bike to these guys!!!
Have a great holiday
You too!
Can’t wait 🤘🏾⚡️🤙🏾
What not replacing lifter cuffs??? What happen to while your in there???

@@FeulingParts awesome thanks for that! You gave a lot of good info in this video!
@@bkmahaffey Glad we could share some insight 💪
I need a good cam for my twin cam
Great video guys, did I miss the inner cam bearing install or did you guys not change it? If Luke says you don’t need to, I’d like to know that!
Yes we did replace the inner cam bearing, All of our Camchest kits come with a new full compliment Torrington style inner cam bearing
💪@michaelstanfieldsc
I like the insights of these products we use...their shop doesn't surprise me, it's one of the best products for these bikes we build🤘🛵
What an awesome company
Nice!
Juan needs some Chrome 21" rims for his RG !!!
Would look great, but is it worth the worse ride?
@@chevyon37s I don't think it makes much of a difference. 21" rims aren't like the big wheel rims that some bikes have. I just think a good set of rims will make his bike look even better.
21"Rides better in my experienced opinion, and looks better also
Appareciate Luke.
27:47 Juan on Juan action? 😂
Damn cliff hanger hahah
Hell yeah
Great video... thanks :-)
Glad you liked it!
Let's see a race when it's all tuned up.
Your dyna with .007 pinion run out..what all did you put in it? Opened my 88” up last week and have .007 play and don’t want to rebuild the engine yet and also don’t want to put it back together stock 🤔
If only i was still in socal i could be riding right now
It’s Tuesdayyyyyy
Question: isn't there some sort of cam bearing to replace with the new cam?
I always see the "inner cam bearing" changed out with a cam replacement, I now wonder if that is necessary?
Yes we did replace the inner cam bearing, All of our Camchest kits come with a new full compliment Torrington style inner cam bearing
@@FeulingParts Thank you! Awesome job Feuling and Thrashin!! Looking forward to the Dyno results as I also have a 107 RG like Juans.
⚡️ LFG! ⚡️
You guys need to custom cover that filter
Was that Mobil 1 oil I spied?
Yes, we used Mobil 1 on Juan’s bikes. We use it on stock to mild builds, we were heavily involved with the initial oil testing for HD on the TWIN CAM engine, and were responsible for the factory switching to synthetic as it is generally worth 8-12 degrees in oil temp. However on our high performance builds we prefer to use a good conventional such as Valvoline VR1
