*Definition of "Greatness" in this series:* The following 3 things are weighted together
*[1]* Influence and popularity *[2]* Sheer vocal ability *[3]* Ability to transcend a niche genre and effect society and music as a whole through their vocals. This is not purely a "best male singers list" looking only at vocal ability, but also considers the effect of their vocals to the global musical landscape.
sure
Luther Vandross will blow all of them out the water
Listen to Exercises in free love and you will be convinced that Freddie is better than mj
Prince should bee with Freddie 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻💜👑🤴🏽
This describes Elvis Presley perfectly.
Michael Jackson for me had the most unique voice along with Freddie mercury.
They say that Michael wasn't that good live but we all forget that he was a performer and it's so hard sometimes to sing so good like the record version and he was singing by the age of 6..anyway great job 🙏
I think Michael was great vocally in his early days, and as he got older later in his career he focused more on the performance and dancing :)
@@CalebColesMusic another reason was his health and the growing popularity as a dancer and performer,,,,never the less his vocals remained great throughout his album recording career
@@CalebColesMusic You should of never have a list without Michael Jackson on the S tier by himself.
I think your video is a fail, Freddie is A but not on the same level as MJ and loses his voice often while having much less consistency.
MJ is the god of vocals and the only person in the world that can properly sing and dance at that speed at the same time.
Dimash is the greatest legend of all time, better than Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson, Prince combined. He is also the greatest hip hop rapper, better than 2pac, eminem, nas, jay z combined. Also he is the greatest dancer of all time, better than BTS, Michael Jackson combined, also he the greatest songwriter of all time. Also he is the greatest music composer of all time, better than Mozart & Beethoven combined. Also he the greatest guitarist of all time, better than Jimi Hendrix & Eddie Van Halen combined. I wish all musicians and singers should bow down to king of vocals DIMASH.
muhammad608 lmfao. What drugs are you on dude..sounds like this dude is your girlfriend...lmfao...you went a little overboard...how many of his songs have u heard on the radio...duh!!!!..lol
Michael jackson is a very underated singer becouse of his performance his vocals tends to be overshadow,he is a great singer he sounds exacly like the recorded version and he has a versatile voice he can do pop, rock, soul, rap, beatbox, and he sounds soo good when he sang acapella.he and prince got a very great and recognizable voice.
Finally someone say it..He had the most unique voice in the music industry..and he was extremely versatile..he had all the package absolutely talented
If you hear him acapella man his voice just was out of this world..and I'm not a big fan but this is the truth and i don't care what anybody says this guy was multitalented
Prince the same what a talent..Both legends
So true
I consider Michael to be one the best vocalists, definitely.
underrated? lol more like overrated .. good ssinger but you can find alot of singers better than him .. cmon
@@jacocharzukanamericanautho2422 Michael is very much underrated. A lot of people don’t wan’t to recognise MJ’s great work and his music and it’s very sad.
Prince you may have gotten wrong. His voice is iconic and none like him. He's known for his voice especially in the US. He's a historical legend
I think the thing separating Prince is that creatively he definitely was as a legendary singer / songwriter. But just his vocals alone he didn't have the technical proficiency that the others in the category had.
Awesome breakdown on each singer! Definitely good to distinguish a singer's artistry compared to their vocal ability.
Yeah definitely! There is no clear line is there? Hope you've been well man. How is the music going?
Marvin Gaye is better than Paul McCartney
I'm intrigued, Caleb. So far, I'm in agreement with you. Can't wait for Part 2! 😃
Yeah it gets really interesting in part 2 :)
Looking forward to Dimash, we love him!
Yes, he’s the best!
I'm here for him ☺️
I'm enjoying this. See you on part 2!
So much fun! Thank you!
Wow, I really enjoyed this! Going to check out those I don't know! Can't wait for part 2!!! ❤️
wooow, such an interesting analysis , can't wait for part 2 :D
This is really an interesting video! I would love to see this taken and put into comparisons for female vocalist as well.
Love the video and the depth you went into with the tiers and your reasoning, as a guy who Loves to search/click random videos and doesn't know most of these people, it woulda been cool to hear a couple snippets of each singer as you ordered them
Mitch in S-tier. I’m happy
Merci j’adore le concept 🌹
Very interesting, I’m looking forward to tomorrow! 🤗🇬🇧
Part 2 is where it gets really interesting :)
@@CalebColesMusic I can see who’s coming up... it really is a very interesting idea to rate so many artists like this and I trust your judgement of their vocal ability (I’m no expert).
@@Lou16. It is tricky, because in a sense art can't be rated! But in another sense, there is a physicality and ability that needs to be honed and improved. Always tricky!
Dimash absolutely warld class.1 place 100%,after him you can make your liist.Salut from Bulgaria.
Exactly!
How many records this dude make..lmfao...great range but over does it ruining the song
Mj had excellent vocal technique and gotta take top spot irrespective of how his live vocals been since dangerous,,coz his vocals in history album were insane,,,especially acapella versions,,anyhow live perfoemance was tough for him given his ever growing and evolving live dance..and historically who can deny his legacy
Earth song alone can blow your mind.
You are really good at finding the right words to explain your content Caleb ♥️ Awesome!
Looking forward to see Dimash 😊
Thanks so much :)
Great idea and great video! Can't wait for the next part and to see Dimash😁
Dimash Kudaibergen!
He is in part 2 coming out tomorrow :)
@@CalebColesMusic Thank you!
Finally a new vid! Hi Caleb❤️
Hello! Yes, I'll have 3 in a row this week. Part 2 is out tomorrow which will have more singers in it :)
@@CalebColesMusic
Niice
I’ll be first hopefully:)
Yees Dying to see the rest especially where u will put Dimash, tho I guess I know where you’d put him😂
@@yamhal2445 Dimash was hard to rank actually! The best technically on the list, but I wanted to be consistent with "greatness" also having to do with influence. He is in part 2 which is coming out tomorrow :)
@@CalebColesMusic
Oh wow now I’m eager to see it even more haha!!
Hi Caleb. I absolutely agree with you. Freddy is a true legend. I have always been a fan of rock and metal music. I always listened to Queen, David Bowie, Nirvana, R. E. M, then I switched to metal music(Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC...). Now I have discovered Dimash and for me he's the top, in front of everyone, a true living legend. His skill, his technique, his vocal range, his stage presence.... No one ever like him!!!! I'm waiting for the sequel.... 👏👏🤗🇮🇹
Yeah, Metallica are one of my favourite bands! I also got into a lot of thrash and prog metal / rock. Sequel coming tomorrow :)
@@CalebColesMusic Are you referring to metal and rock today? If so, I agree, the level has dropped a lot... The historical bands for me are and will remain the best!!! Can't wait to see more. Thanks. Have a good day 🤗
love you. cant agree more
This is a great idea. I enjoyed the video a lot. Are you planning on doing this with female singers too?
I believe I will :)
This is SO interesting! Thank you for putting Freddie on top! He IS a legend!
He absolutely is!
Dimash is the greatest legend of all time, better than Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson, Prince combined. He is also the greatest hip hop rapper, better than 2pac, eminem, nas, jay z combined. Also he is the greatest dancer of all time, better than BTS, Michael Jackson combined, also he the greatest songwriter of all time. muhammad608 lmfao..he haven't been around long enough to be a legend...how many records this dude sell..he has great range and shows it off way to much ruining the song..
@@homebest1777 Wow!... :-( No comment...
Snorkie Lou he's good but he ain't no FREDDIE.....lol..and u can take that to the bank...
Are Barry, Robin or Maurice Gibb on the list?
very cool. think I'd agree with you.
This has been fun. I hope after you're completely done with the Tier List, that you write out the list. That way people can go back and listen to some of your choices without having to rewatch the video. I'm not familiar with a number of the people you are talking about and I don't recognize them by their pictures. Thanks!
HELLO CALEB, GREAT LIST, ONLY THE BEST, YOU NEED TO ADD A CATEGORY AT THE HIGHEST TO BE ABLE TO PLACE DIMASH KUDAIBERGEN, HE IS UNIQUE, UNEQUALED AND INCOMPARABLE !!
A GREAT TASK !!
THANKS!!
❤️❤️❤️🇲🇽
That's exactly what I was going to say, lol! Dimash needs his very own category ❤️
i see you Dear thanks for commenting
Dimash is good but there are other singers out there that are much better. He's talented for sure but he's not legend or doing anything that hasn't been done before.
@@keydrosario WITHOUT GETTING INTO CONTROVERSIES I RECOGNIZE GREAT TALENTS IN MUSIC, GREAT LEGENDS EFFECTIVELY, BUT THE TALENT AND QUALITY OF DIMASH CANNOT BE DISCUSSED AND OF COURSE THAT HE DOES GREAT THINGS THAT SOME HAVE DONE AND HE DID IT SEPARATELY, BUT AND GOOD!!
GREETINGS!!❤️
@@keydrosario ha ha, nonsense!
Thanks Caleb! I am waiting for Dimash!
I came to learn... figured I have probably missed a few.
Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury Legends 🎤🎸
Freddie Mercury and Mitch :) nice video
BRAZIL - Caleb, how are you ??? He got it right with Freddie Mercury, he's a vocal legend, I never considered Paul MCartney a great vocalist, nor John Lennon, but they were influential. I prefer Ed Sheeran and Michael Buble to Justin Bieber. I'm enjoying the classification. We still have greats like Elvis, Prince, MJ, Frank Sinatra, etc ..... my favorite is Dimash and I consider him a great vocalist, the best of today, but his career is still young just like him and I sincerely wish that he get the recognition you deserve, to become a legend. Despite Freddie, the Queen band in the past was ignored at the Grammy. Your line of reasoning for categorizing artists is great, I like it, it's real. Looking forward to seeing part 2. Are there Latin singers like LUIS MIGUEL ?? ASIATICOS ?? It would look interesting and deserving
Yes!! I had to make sure DAVID PHELPS was in there somewhere!!!!!
You are brave to do such a list... And me as a biiiiig fan of Bowie have to say he should be at the top 3 of musical geniuses. He influenced so many musicians and especially in the 70s he was a role model for so many people. Just ask the lbgt community what he had done for them!
Glad to see Brendon Urie here, he is a reslly great vocalist, he's very versatile
Glad you gave Bruce and Geoff their props.
Happy to see mitch in the ranking
I think personality, stage presence, and physical looks have more to do with pop success than signing ability.
That was fun, and I agree with your placements. Like someone else said, there needs to be another space at the top and it just says "DIMASH". Haha! I know he's not as well known as the others but he will be in time. Thanks for another great video. Looking forward to tomorrow's.
Yeah definitely! He vocally is leagues above. The only thing is he is still new in his career so hasn't had the time to have as much influence as the other singers on the list :)
@@CalebColesMusic I recommend you check out a singer named Tonex. You'll see that Dimash is not by himself. Black gospel singers are doing truly spectacular things. Way beyond Dimash
Steve Perry better be on this next list!
Chester Bennington is one of the greatest vocalists to have ever lived. One of the most emotive rock voices out there and definitely a voice of a generation.
I agree, unfortunately he isn't on the list. Hybrid Theory and Meteora were two huge albums! He would be towards the top of a greatest rock vocalists list for sure.
Chester Bennington can't sing. Dimash Dimash !!!!!amazing!!
Oh no Caleb, you gonna upset a few people here 😝

I'm waiting for where you put dimash 😁..
I enjoyed your break-up so far. However I hope you don't forget about George Michael, Steve Perry and of course Luciano Pavarotti. Looking forward to the next round.
Steve Perry and Luciano Pavoarotti are on the list! Unforunately George Michael isn't, sorry about that :(
Please do a GOOD LOOKING band vocalist
Adam Lambert
My favorite male singer, us this dude who played prince charming in my friends musical. Ill never forget how insanely talented he is for being like 12.
czekam na opinnie Dimasha :) pozdrawiam :)
Hello! Thank you for the video. I would make 6 categories. Category 1 - Dimash, further down the list, I agree. There are the greatest vocalists, legends and there is Dimash! You can't compare him with anyone! For the rest of the vocalists, these are unequal weight categories.❤️
Dimash💎
Thank you for saving Bowie in the nick of time! Sorry but that is David Bowie for goodness sake 💖⚡😍
Haha yes! I love Bowie's songs. It's tricky because I'm not rating them as musical artists, just as vocalists.
You're wrong about Prince by the way😂 his vocals are underrated. His vocals are as underrated as his guitar playing.
Shin yong Jae he’s an amazing vocalist ( he can hit a lot of notes )
Only GOAT Freddie Mercury darling !!!
Me encanta Dimash el rango vocal que tiene pero me gusta más el estilo de cantar de Michael Jackson y Prince. y como artistas son únicos.
Ojalá Dimash pueda llegar bien pero bien lejos, me encantaría.
Prince is really good, an electric voice, but not as "good" as MJ for instance
I d like you tô show a litle of those voices wich i never heard...
Yeah, that would have been great. Can be a little tricky with copyright is the only thing! The more singers in one clip, the higher chance of it getting taken down :)
Michael Buble deserves better. Swing is hard to sing, he has great tone can project his voice incredibly well. I think he’s overlooked.
Range isn’t everything btw man, just look at Frank Sinatra (arguably one of the best male pop vocalists)
Just came to make sure you put Freddie at the top he’s a legend
i could take the rest bc ok ok but you lost me with Prince 💔
doesnt axel rose hav one of the biggest ranges of western male singers?
como vas a poner ahi a McCartney?? esta al nivel de leyenda facil
MJ is the all around Best. period.
Türkiye'den selam dimash kudaibergen seviyoruz
Where you would you put George Michael on this list?
FREDDIE MERCURY BEST....
Where do U think bob marley would be
Andrzej Zaucha
I’m not a fan of Bieber, but you can’t deny his vocal impact in today’s music industry - there’s traces of his vocal style absolutely everywhere. one of the most influential artists of this century IMO, up there with people like Rihanna and Drake
Dimash ,my favorite vocalist, his unique, no one like him,
yessss. cant agree more
Me too!
@@jacocharzukanamericanautho2422 Jimi vocalist? lol .. Jimmi was the best guitarist of all time but vocalist he was a decent but not to be one of the greatests .. the best ever is Freddie
Ronnie James Dio, Franco Corelli, Del Monaco and Caruso was clearly better, much most power, control, technique proficiency and naturall consistency live.
Dimash in S-Tier, because his vocals are far beyond everyone else's ability in this list, but he's been around for just 3 years, and we can't consider him and historical and influential legend yet. Maybe he'll be in the future, or maybe he'll never be.
Still the greatest vocalist by far.
I had a very tough time weighing him up for that very reason. But I had to look at his influence in China, Russia and what he has done for Kazakhstan also which has been significant. Was tough!
@@CalebColesMusic sooooo it does take the first spot!!!! 🙃. I mean poppera is a thing cause of him isnt it??
@@CalebColesMusic that's a very good point, even though he has been around few years, his influence is already huge. He is considered and honored cultural figure in Kazakhstan already, a very rare archievement for someone so young. That without counting his influence as an ambassador between China and Kazakhstan and his big and still growing fame in Rusia. Maybe he is not that huge in the USA, but here in Latin america his fanbase is growing fast. I respect legends like Freddie, he is one of my favorites, but I can't deny Dimash is my number one and to me is a living legend, so young with so many huge archievements and so many years ahead him 😊❤️
@@angieand89 historical legend though? I actually don’t care for high male voices so his range alone isn’t a deal breaker for me. I think he’s up there because he’s obviously a fan looking at his videos.
Dimash is a genius vocalist. Yes, very very skilled. But his style of music is trash. It feels ancient. I feel like he is confused on weather he wants to be Michael Jackson or Pavarotti. It clashes in my humble opinion
where is Ryan Tedder?
missed it on Dickinson..he deserves on the list.
No brian mcknight and luther vandross, interesting...
Dimash Kudaibergen!!!!!
Don’t disrespect Marvin like that lol
Fr man
What about George Michael?
Layne staley 🐐
90's Axl Rose is s-tier
Rayyy charrless
Where is Steve Perry?
Without Robbie Williams and Lionel Richie it's irrelevant for me
Were is Chris martin?
where is Vicente fernandez and Juan Gabriel ?
why would you put Adam Levine and Justin Bieber there?? Then you have guys like Bruno Mars, Zayn Malik, The Weeknd who has versatile singing prowess and all of these are great three octave singers. And Chester Bennington is one of the best vocalist in his time.
Gee you picked a hard task 😆✌😆✌😆✌😆
Haha I know! I definitely will make at least someone unhappy haha.
Michael Hutchence deserve to be this list.
dimash is unique!!!!
Greg Lake from 1968 - 1978 was the best male singer ever. By far.
The one with most vocal ability is right here y'all: ua-cam.com/video/XmJ1k8E_bt4/v-deo.html
Very difficult to rate these male artists. A lot of those in the influential genius could also be categorized as historical legends tbh. thanks
Very true! I think many are historical legends as artists as a whole. But if we are looking at the voice alone I think that is where I split it up :)
@@CalebColesMusic If that's the case then no way Bob Dylan gets on this list :D
Overall, I cannot fault your opinions, though whether Mercury was the legend you see him as being in himself, rather than in ensemble with his group, I am not so sure. There are a couple on this first list of whom I am unaware, probably as a result of my being somewhat older than you are. I do think, however, that you have overly identified with English-language singers. French and Spanish singers seem to be largely absent, and I see none from Africa, the Caribbean or Asia.
Definitely, I should have mentioned clearly that my upbringing and culture will heavily influence this list.
I would put Michael B in the ‘great vocalist’ category.
Damn, where's Gary Levox???
I didn't see Elvis pictures
He is in there :)
Adam Lambert is the best. Cased closed.
I agrée
